Disclaimer: I do not own The Lost Boys.

AN: Another chapter is incoming. My apologies for anyone waiting on Eyes of Medusa. My muse for that fiction is regrettably on vacation. Hopefully she will not be gone for too long.

Chapter 5

He could not see anything but the back of his eyelids. Well, and the occasional brightening of light outside of his lids. For three years he had been trapped in his own body so far. For three years Sam had heard his family speak to each other and the staff around him. He had heard their prayers and the stories they shared with him. He had heard his daughter. That upset him the most. She was a fully grown woman now and he wasn't there. David had stolen that from him. Three years and no telling how many more he would not be present for. His daughter getting married and having a family he would never know.

CREAK

"Hello, Samuel."

If he could move Sam would have jumped and screamed. He knew that voice. David was here. He had found them. This monster that had put him in this bed, trapping him in his own body, had found his family. Had he already found his Josie? Has he harmed her? How could he warn them?

"Don't worry so much Sammy. I'm not here to harm you anymore." David said with sincerity, "I got my revenge on you. Michael and Star not so much but it has been a joy watching the scramble like terrified rabbits trying to escape me. They don't even know I'm here. I took my sweet time coming here."

Sam's heart was pounding in his chest. He could hear his monitors beginning to alarm. It wouldn't be more than a couple minutes before nurses would flood his room. David would be long gone before they ever arrived.

"Well, that's not very nice Samuel. My cue to leave then. One more thing, Josie is stunning. A very beautiful girl when she sleeps. She fits so nicely in my arms." David said darkly.

Sam was incensed. That evil bastard knew where his daughter was. But if what he had said was to be believed he was close to her. He was watching her sleep and heaven help him; David was sleeping with her. Probably feeding from her. She was so young still and had no idea of the danger she was in. He had to do something. The door opened and nurses rushed in, and Sam felt his body launch up. His sheer willpower to protect his daughter was driving him forward. There was a sharp stabbing pain in his head. His body seized violently. The staff worked over him vigorously to help him through the seizure wracking his body. It felt like an eternity before his body was lying back comfortably.

"Call his family." the head nurse said.

Sam was in turmoil. His beloved daughter was in the clutches of that vampire and there was nothing he could do about it. The promise he had made to his wife and to Josie he couldn't keep. He couldn't protect her. He was helpless to stop David. Tears slid from under his closed eyes. A nurse came forward and wiped his eyes. She was so kind and spoke to him until he heard Michael's voice in the room. He wished he could warn his brother. The danger was here. David was here and he had Josie. He needed Michael to save her. Protect her!

(Josie)

Turning over Josie felt herself suddenly wake just as the thunder crashed loudly, vibrating the bungalow. She was a bit scared with its ferocity. Without much thought she stood and moved across the room. Just as she reached her door she stopped to look back at her bed. David wasn't there! Where was he? His clothes were still on the chair near her bed. He was still in the house. She opened her door and out into the hallway she looked over to the bathroom door and saw the light on underneath. She sighed. The light turned off and David exited the room.

"Getting loud out there." he commented towards the storm.

"Yeah. It's shaking the house." she said and moved to him.

"You up now?" he asked.

"For a bit. I'm going to go to the restroom and maybe get a drink then back to bed." she said and headed towards the smaller room.

David watched her go in. He shrugged and headed towards the kitchen. That had been close. He almost did not make it back in time for her to wake. He had underestimated the storm. It had lagged considerably so he took the chance to pay Sam a visit. He had been truthful in his words. He had made Sam suffer enough and he would go as far as to say he may have gone too far in paralyzing him and putting him in a coma. The years had passed, and he was angry, yes, but now he was done with it all. Now that Max was gone, he and the boys had been allowed to mature and manage themselves. He was actually alone in Hawaii.

The other Lost Boys had gone their separate ways. They needed to make amends with their lives and tie off their loose ends. They needed to know what had happened to their families. David had been there when Max had slaughtered their families and turned them. He told them where they could go, and he let them do it. He would never be like Max and shred their lives apart. He had already done that to the Emerson's and Frog's. The Frogs were all dead and now the Emerson's were in turmoil because of him. The girl, no, woman he was sharing a bed with was clueless to his part in her father's accident.

He wasn't sure what to do. Michael would eventually find out about him, and he would be out for blood. When Josie found out there was no telling how she would react. She would hate him. He would deserve it too. Everything he had done had been in the heat of the moment and for what? His brothers were all among the living once more. There had been no other reason than petty revenge. He could have taken care of that by just slashing their tires and breaking their windows just to inconvenience them and drive them nuts. But he had acted just like Max that night. And he regretted that so much.

"Want some?" Josie said suddenly beside them.

She had reappeared with a glass of milk and a handful of Oreo's. David liked Oreo's. He accepted a couple from her and dipped them in her proffered milk. He popped them in his mouth and followed her back into her room. They polished off the milk and Oreo's and curled back up together in her big bed. He wanted this. He wanted her and this moment forever. David was tired and he was ready for the life with someone significant by his side. If he could make this night last forever, he would. Holding her was amazing. The feel of her body against his was bliss. It was a revelation. Max had this right. Those decades of him preaching on having a match was true. He had known just what he was talking about. And David wanted nothing more than to reverse time and keep all of his mistakes from happening. How could he fix this?
