Lucy is Warming Up
Chapter 2: Celestial Flames of Comfort
There will be some light fluff in this chapter
It was the next morning when Lucy woke up, at first, she was surprised when she felt warm hands wrap around her figure, but after looking down and seeing Natsu's head buried in her hair. The blonde only blushed when she remembered how sweet he had been towards her, she knew he was always looking out for her, and maybe that's why she fell in love with him…but would he want her after knowing that Gray had her first. Immediately pushing the thoughts back, she decided to wake up the dragon slayer only to see he was already awake. She couldn't explain why, but Natsu had always made her feel safe. If she was being honest with herself, Natsu meant more to her than Gray ever did, he truly cared for her, but deep down she didn't deserve him, at least that's what she told herself, unbeknownst to her, however, Natsu still loved her, and that's all that mattered.
"Morning Luce, you feeling better?" he asked as he leaned in to kiss her cheek, as a small smile formed onto her face. She had been feeling better, especially in his warm embrace, no matter what happened as long as Natsu was with her she would get through this, it was pretty safe to say after what happened her and Gray were over, nothing he would say could make her come back to him. Lucy looked at the fire mage with a bright smile, she felt better, she couldn't forget the fight between her and Gray, but being with Natsu made her push it to the back of her mind. Should she tell him, maybe? Or maybe not yet.
"Lucy, can I ask you something?" He asked snapping her out of her daze. The blonde just looked at the dragon slayer wondering what he wanted to ask, secretly hoping it wouldn't be about what happened between her and Gray. Afraid of the question, she stuttered an answer.
"Y…Yes, Natsu what is it?" she hoped it would be anything other than what she thought, she didn't want to tell him yet, but she knew she would have to tell him eventually.
"Do you remember our kiss yesterday?" she looked at him with surprise and embarrassment in her eyes, her face flushing pink as she hid her face in her hands. Why was he asking, did he not enjoy it, he kissed her back right, unless he was trying not to be rude.
"What about it?" she responded her voice slightly quivering. Was it just her or he leaning in closer?
The dragon slayer slightly smirked, leaning in until his lips were barely touching hers as she could feel his warm breath against her own.
"What did that kiss mean to you Luce?" he asked, knowing that it meant what he thought, but he wanted to be absolutely sure it was that. The celestial mage blushed cutely as her body fidgeted looking away from his gaze in a shy manner.
"W….well, I…..I just thought, I didn't mean to….." she was interrupted by his lips covering hers his warm hand cupping her face, as he rolled them over with him on top. He loved this position, even though he had never experienced a feeling like this.
"I can tell you, what it meant to me." He said, his voice becoming huskier. Lucy only looked away still on top of the dragon slayer.
"W….what did it m…mean to y…..yyou?" she asked, lips quivering while her stomach turned, expecting the worst.
The dragon slayer grinned, before turning her head to meet his piercing gaze, before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
"I love you." He said against her lips. The blonde looked at him as tears stung her eyes, Natsu loved her, the one she truly loved actually reciprocated her feelings. She was happy the blonde flipping them over so she straddled his waist.
"I l…love you too, Natsu?" she said before crushing her lips to his. The kiss was heated, the passion between was better than whatever she had with the ice mage, she was scared of what would happen if he found out what was happening between her and Natsu, frankly at the moment she couldn't care.
"Lucy, I love you so much, but I know I can never be with you, I only hope you Gray are happy together." He said as the grin on his face turned into a somber sad smile, his eyes showing pain, and hurt. It was now or never, she had to tell him, she didn't want to hurt him anymore than she already had.
"Natsu?" There's something I need to tell you about yesterday." She said as she slowly removed herself from his grip, bringing her knees to her body, tears stinging her eyes, as she broke down into sobs. Natsu only stared at her in shock. Did he do something wrong why was she crying again?
"Lucy?" "Hey, what happened? Did I do something wrong?" he asked as he brought her into his arms. Lucy's sobs only got more pained when Natsu held her, burying her face into his chest. Natsu couldn't bear it he had to know what was causing her this much pain, what happened between her and Gray. He held her in his arms rubbing her back and consoling her. His expression becoming more concerned for his best friend. It was then that he remembered something, the bruise on her cheek, and the fact that she wasn't with Gray. Had they gotten into a fight, did he hit her. He hoped that wasn't the case.
A newfound look of shock overcame his face as he made the terrifying realization, the shock immediately turned rage as he found out what happened. Lucy noticed the look and her worst fears came true, her grip on the dragon slayer tightened as her sobs became even more pained.
"Natsu, please don't….p…please, it's not worth it…he's not worth it…I d…don't want to lose you….please." she cried in his arms, it was enough to calm him down, but his eyes still held rage and anger towards the ice mage. How dare he hurt her, lay his hands on her. He didn't give a shit if they were dating, anyone who laid their hands on Lucy was dead in his eyes. She was too precious to him, someone like her lit up his life, brought him happiness whenever he was around her.
"What happened." He growled as his hands clenched into fists, he tried his best to control himself, he didn't want to hurt her, tears in his eyes as he realized that Gray had hit her, he had no right to treat her like that, and he wanted answers. Lucy didn't want to tell him, her head shaking from side to side as she brought her lips to his in an effort to stop him from going crazy. Fortunately for her it worked, but she could still feel the anger in his eyes, not towards her, but towards that bastard stripper of an ice mage.
"Lucy, look at me." He said as he lifted her face up to see his. His shut as tears fell down his face. How could anyone do that to her, what wrong had she done to be treated like that.
"I promise that I will make him pay for what he has done, he won't get away with this." Natsu had warned the ice mage when they first got together, that if he hurt Lucy, no one would save him from his wrath.
Lucy couldn't say anything, she just wrapped her legs around his waist as he held her and let her cry. The only thing she wanted was to be in his comforting embrace.
"Lucy, please tell me." "I want to help you, but I can't unless you tell me what happened."
Lucy looked into his onyx eyes, she could see the concern and hurt in them as she took a deep breath in.
"Y….you have to promise me y…you won't do anything Natsu, p…..please?" she begged. He hated that she was in this much pain. They seemed happy whenever he would see them at the guild, but maybe it was fake happiness. Reluctantly he agreed to her condition. "OK, I won't but you need to tell me everything, and if he tries anything else I'll fucking murder him." He replied, his voice filled with venom.
"Do you remember when we were at the guild?..." she asked.
Ok here is Chapter 2, I'm sorry if its short, and kind of confusing, the next chapter will be the flashback and then we can move into the juiciness. I should also preface that there might be an implied attempted rape scene later in this story, but I don't know. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Also, I am accepting requests, so if you have any requests for any stories, I will be glad to discuss them with you, feel free to PM with any potential ideas. Until next time, I hope you enjoy this chapter. I love you all.
