Wane was taking a stroll through the forest of the island while whistling and flipping a coin as he carried a bag full of valubles. Normally, Wane would spend the day at the mansion to his heart's desire, but he just felt like going outside for once, maybe even finding some riches on the way back. While Wane walked through the forest he noticed a peculiar sight, Beatrice was carrying a few mechanical parts, normally there'd be nothing odd about someone carrying something, but why would Beatrice, the person who's no good at mechanics, carry parts through the woods? Was it for Brandon's ATV? No, the forest would be a much longer path than the beach and there were bears here, Beatrice would only take this path if she wanted to hide something.
"Whaddya doing?" Wane called out, causing the mermaid fanatic to jump and drop the parts she was holding.
Beatrice scrambled to pick the parts back up and gave a nervous smile to Wane, "N-nothing! Just... grabbing parts for Brandon! Nothing to see here!" Beatrice tried to sound convincing, but it was extremely obvious that she was lying.
"Uh-huh, rrrrrright!" Wane winked, "Why are you actually hiding a bunch of parts? Oh, let me guess, you stole it from someone."
Beatrice gulped loudly, "N-no... I just... borrowed..." Wane simply raised his eyebrow, causing Beatrice to begin sweating nervously, "Ok I admit it! I took these from the trash bin after I saw Buck throw them out! I didn't want to steal them but I figured he wasn't gonna use them anymore!" Beatrice confessed to her 'crime' causing Wane to sigh obnoxiously.
"Damn I was actually expecting something interesting," Wane rolled his eyes, "Not you crying about taking someone's garbage like a goody-two-shoes."
"I'm not a goody-two-shoes! I can be tough!" Beatrice retorted, with it being something Wane didn't believe one bit.
Wane grinned, "Yeah yeah, sure, here lemme give you a little advice missy, you're not gonna get anywhere in this game by being nice, you gotta pull the wool over other people's eyes sometimes, before you can get tricked." Wane walked over to her and snapped his fingers, "Get the point?"
"Uhm... correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your entire team hate you? How's the pulling wool working out for you?" Beatrice joked, causing Wane to turn red with anger.
"They just don't understand how great I am, that's all!" Wane stomped his feet multiple times, "I'm so much smarter than you'd expect too, so don't act like I don't have ways to escape my teammate's wrath." Wane came up with the first excuse he could think of, "Like I said, come the merge, and you'll be the first... maybe second, if you're lucky, person out, or just get taken advantage of by the others, you're way too easy to take advantage of."
Beatrice shook her head dismissively, "No! I have Brandon as my friend, and he'd never betray me! Besides, I'm fully confident I won't be fooled by anyone here!"
"Positive?" Wane raised an eyebrow.
"Extremely positive!" Beatrice put her hands on her hips confidently, "Just because I like to help people doesn't mean I'm gonna lose!"
"Well if you say so." Wane shrugged as he walked away with his treasure bag, the conman stopped in his tracks for a moment and turned around, "By the way Beatrice, you're gonna wanna work on that 'not taking advantage of' aspect you say ya got. 'Cause you are bad at it." Wane lectured, causing Beatrice to look at him in confusion.
Beatrice rubbed her head, "What do you mean? Nothing has happened to change-" Beatrice looked over to see that all the parts she had taken we're now gone, and that Wane had somehow stolen them while she wasn't looking, "Hey!" Beatrice looked around for Wane but he was nowhere to be found, Beatrice then began to run in a random direction she thought Wane also ran in, "Give that back!"
