ACxOCU Ch 30 Unaverage Lies We Tell Ourselves.

(It's 6am in the Griffin house and it shows Lois still in bed when her alarm goes off playing Take the long way home by Supertramp.)

So, you think you're a Romeo.

(Her face buried in the pillow she reaches to hit snooze on the alarm.)

Playing a part in a picture show.

(She slowly sits up on the side of the bed and looks over at the half glass of wine left on the dresser.)

Well, take the long way home.

(She smells the glass recoils then downs the rest of it )

Take the long way home.

(She looks out her bedroom window seeing the tire tracks across her yard from Peter's drunk driving the night before.)

'Cause you're the joke of the neighborhood.

(There's a bunch of people outside looking at the lawn murmuring amongst each other.)

Why should you care if you're feelin' good?

(Donna who's also out there looks up at her and shakes her head in disgust.)

Well, take the long way home.

Take the long way home.

(Lois shuts the blinds.)

There are times that you feel you're part of the scenery.

(It shows Lois now outside hosing vomit and dirt off the driveway.)

All the greenery is comin' down, boy.

(She then walks towards the bushes and grabs the hidden vodka bottle and takes a big swig of it.)

And then your wife seems to think you're part of the furniture.

(Later it shows her coming back inside seeing Peter still half naked passed out on the couch.)

Oh, it's peculiar, she used to be so nice.

(Lois sighs and grabs her purse then walks back outside.)

When lonely days turn to lonely nights.

You take a trip to the city lights!

(It shows Lois driving off towards the city.)

And take the long way home!

Take the long way home!

(As she drives she sees billboards for retirement and vacations.)

You never see what you want to see!

Forever playing to the gallery...

(Lois sighs sadly.)

You take the long way home!

Take the long way home!

(She then sees a billboard of a girl on a stage singing.)

When you're up on the stage, it's so unbelievable!

(She begins picturing that it's her on the stage singing.)

Oh, unforgettable, how they adore you!

(The people in the fantasy begin to applaud her making tears stream down her face.)

But then your wife seems to think you're losing your sanity!

Oh, calamity, is there no way out?

(Lois pulls off into the nearest parking lot sitting there crying her eyes out.)

Later that evening.

(Lois is sitting in the dark in the kitchen when Micky comes in, turning on the light seeing her wipe the remnants of tears off her face.)

"Oh Mrs. Griffin I'm sorry I didn't know you were in here." Says Micky cautiously.

"It's fine Micky." Sniffles Lois wiping her face.

"Is something wrong?" Asks Micky concerned about his future mother-in-law.

"No it's nothing I'm fine thank you for asking." Replies Lois, smiling weakly.

"Well if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here." Micky says with a smile.

"Thank you Micky I'd like that." Replies Lois to which he nods and turns to leave, "Hey Micky." She begins.

"Yes?" Asks Micky turning back around.

"Have you ever felt like you made the wrong decision?" Lois asks looking up at him.

"What do you mean?" Micky asks, not sure what she means.

"It's just I've been doubting myself about Peter. I always think that he's going to change but everytime his actions just seem to be getting worse and worse." Lois says looking back down at the table.

"You mean like last night?" Asks Micky sitting down at the table.

"Yeah…. this self destructive behavior just doesn't seem to want to change and I'm just not sure how much more I can take. I don't want to throw away a forty year marriage." Says Lois sadly.

"I don't feel right giving drastic life advice but have you ever thought maybe he just doesn't want to be fixed and no matter what you do he'll never change? I'm not trying to tell you to give up on him but honestly your options are completely turning a blind eye to the problem or confronting it head on." Replies Micky getting up.

"You're probably right…." Lois sighs, "Thank you again Micky."

"Anytime." Says Micky grabbing some chips and heading back upstairs.

Later that night.

(There's a loud beating on Stewie's door.)

"What's up pop?" Says Stewie answering the door tiredly seeing Peter.

"Where's that boyfriend of yours?" Slurs Peter who apparently has been drinking heavily.

"What do you want with Micky?" Asks Stewie slowly waking up but then Peter pushes past him heading into the room.

"What's your problem man?" Peter asks angrily drunkenly, trying to lunge at him.

"What do you mean Mr. Griffin?" Asks Micky confused at what's happening.

"You…you told Lois to leave me!" Screams Peter.

"He did what now?" Asks Stewie in confusion.

"Your rat bastard boyfriend convinced your mother to leave me." Says Peter throwing the half empty bottle of beer he had in his hands at Micky barely missing him and hitting the wall.

"Don't do that!" Screams Stewie grabbing Peter.

"I know your game you were jealous of my happy marriage and jealous your boyfriend goes out and hangs with Junior all day. You couldn't stand how happy we were!" Screams Peter face red with anger and his body swaying drunkenly.

"That's not true…." Says Micky sadly.

"You want to talk to my wife like a man then let's fight like we're men." Peter says taking a swing at Micky but missing completely losing his balance falling over and passing out on the ground.

"Ugh great now I have to deal with that." Stewie says bending down to pick Peter off the ground.

(Suddenly there's a long wet farting sound.)

"And now he's shit his pants and I've got two things to deal with." Groans Stewie dragging Peter out of the room and into the bathroom.

The next morning.

"Oh my head." Groans Peter holding an ice pack against his head.

"Drink this." Says Stewie handing him a glass of water then sitting down in the chair across from him, "Micky told me what he said to mom and I honestly understand why she's upset look at you man you've been a one note kind of man for most of my life and from what I can tell everyone is really beginning to get sick of it. Hell Micky has barely been here a year and he can already tell there's a problem."

"Yeah…I guess I've really been a bastard. I'm sorry for trying to hit you. I'm sorry for trying to compare our relationships as a justification for why mine is such a mess." Peter says, putting his head in his hands.

(Micky just shakes his head but doesn't look at him or verbally respond.)

"I can't say whether what Micky said was fully wrong or right because it's not our relationship but for God's sake man see the forest for the trees." Stewie says, shaking his head.

"Yeah you're right." Sighs Peter, "I'm just not sure what to do."

"Maybe actually trying to change should be your best choice." Replies Stewie.

(Suddenly the front door opens and Lois walks in.)

"Don't mind me, I'm just getting the rest of my stuff for my stay at my mother's." Lois says walking towards the stairs as she goes to walk up she looks at Peter and says, "Mr. Baker is already drawing up the divorce papers. You should see them by next week."

"Lois…." Peter begins.

"I'm sorry Peter but I don't want to hear it." Lois says cutting him off.

"Mom please just hear him out." Stewie pleads.

"Fine." Lois says, crossing her arms.

"Lois, you have every right to be mad at me. I haven't been fair to you. I guess I just got too comfortable with you not calling me out on my crap thinking you'd deal with it forever. That wasn't right and I'm sorry." Peter says getting up and walking towards her.

"I know Peter but I'm honestly not sure how much more I can take and it isn't right to expect me to." Lois replies.

"Please I don't want to lose you." Peter says, grabbing her by the hands and looking into her eyes, "Please."

"...I guess we can work on it." Lois says looking back at him then embracing him with a hug.
