"Thank you again for the food Ranka." Kaoru said as he pulled the bowl of rice towards his face. The two were sitting around the table at Haruhi's house having ordered takeout after Haruhi and Takashi had taken off for their date. "Again, I was more than willing to pay however."

"Nonsense." The red-haired man said as he began to load up his own plate from the takeout boxes set upon the table. "You are a guest in my home, it would be poor manners on my part if I did not treat you. Besides I need to pay you back for making that gorgeous outfit for my dear little princess. I do hope her date is going well."

"I wouldn't worry to much about that, Mori-senpai is the definition of a gentleman. There is no doubt in my mind that he is treating her to a lovely evening."

"I did get that vibe off of him, he doesn't seem to fit into your friend group that well." Ranka said thoughtfully as he picked at his food. It was true, most of the group was high energy hyperactive. Well aside from the Kyoya fellow.

"It's true, his personality doesn't really mesh well with the rest of us. To be honest I don't think he would be apart of out little crew if it wasn't for his cousin Hunny-senpai, sorry I mean Mitsukuni-senpai. Hunny-senpai was the one who decided he wanted to be apart of the host club and Mori-senpai just naturally followed."

"I see that does make sense, high school can be quite the challenge and it would help to have a close relative have with you. Speaking of which where is your brother, I do believe this is the first time I've seen you without him?"

Kaoru grimaced at the question before setting his chopsticks down and running a hand nervously through his hair. "Yeah, to be honest it feels weird not having him by my side; however, I'm glad he's not here right now. He didn't take Mori-senpai asking out your daughter too well."

"Ah so he had a crush on my little Haruhi as well." Ranka said with a bit of a cheeky smirk on his lips. "I know that blonde airhead did, as well as that creepy fellow."

"Tamaki and Kyoya? Yeah, I'm sure they did as well but Kyoya has found someone new in the last little while. Tamaki on the other hand took it about as well as Hikaru did. They were both planning on coming over here and preventing the date from happening but Kyoya, Mitsukuni-senpai, and myself intervened. They're currently on a wild goose chase."

"I appreciate that." Ranka said giving the young man a smile, he knew this couldn't be easy for Kaoru. "And what about yourself? Don't think I haven't seen the way you've looked at my little girl when you've been over."

"Ah um yes well." The younger twin stammered with a slight blush on his face. "I thought I did at first, but I think I was just feeding off my brothers' emotions. We're identical twins, no one can tell us apart you know, well aside from Haruhi. We are supposed to like the same things, act the same. It's expected of us. Or at least that's what I've always believed, it has just been him and me for so long that we built a co-dependency on one another. When he started developing a crush on Haruhi, I felt like I had too as well. Sorry I'm rambling."

Ranka gave Kaoru a comforting smile before reaching across the table and giving the boy a pat on the shoulder. "It's alright, I'm more than willing to listen. And if it means anything, I can tell you and your brother apart as well. It's quite easy after having you two over so often, you do have quite different personalities."

"Thank you, that does mean a lot Ranka." Kaoru said with a small happy smile.

"Any time. Now High school gossip is not really my forte anymore as I've been out of that game for many years now. But lets hear some, I want to get that old nostalgic feeling." Ranka said with a grin.

Kaoru's smile turned to a grin as he informed the older man about the going-ons of Ouran High. Fujioka Ryoji may not have known any of the people the twin mentioned other than those in the Host club, but he was enjoying it none the less. Not to mention it was giving him a bit of insight on his daughter's life outside of the house.

Meanwhile inside the city, a limousine was scrambling through the streets stopping at every restaurant in town. Tamaki and Hikaru were both searching for the small crossdressing host. Tamaki was determined to save his 'daughter' from the evil neighbor that was trying to steal her away from him and Hikaru was more than willing to help, even if he had his own ulterior motives. However, thanks to a 'slip' of the tongue on Hunny's part and some false information on Kyoya's, the two hosts were searching the section of the city.

Authors note: I'm back, maybe, we'll see. Hope anyone who reads this enjoys a short little behind the scenes chapter of Ranka and Kaoru hanging out while Mori and Haruhi have a beautiful evening. Fun fact, I never actually watched OHSHC. Which is probably very obvious by now.
