"Good morning, brother sibling".

Wakko opened his eyes to see his brother standing beside the bed. "Morning...", he mumbled, "Where's Dot?". "Getting her cutie sleep, you know that", said Yakko. "Oh", said Wakko, "I tought she doesn't need it anymore". Yakko chuckled, "Don't tell her that, she wouldn't be so happy to hear it". "Ok, I won't", said Wakko, "She helped us anyway".

"So, how are you feeling?", asked Yakko. "A lot better", said Wakko, "This is really helping me". "That's great to hear", said Yakko, "I'm going to get us something to eat now, ok?". "Sure", said Wakko, "I'm starving". The oldest sibling just chuckled as he patted Wakko's hat and left.

A few minutes later, Wakko felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around. "Hey..." "Morning sis", said Wakko, smiling. "Morning...", said Dot, "How are you?". "Much better", said Wakko, "I wanted to talk to you about something...". "What is it?", Dot asked, smiling. "I feel weird...", he said. "What do you mean?", she asked. "Well...a lot has changed and...sigh, it just feels weird. I don't know", he said. "Oh, Wakko", said Dot, "That's normal. Everyone feels that way when big changes happen, let alone you". "Let alone?", asked Wakko, "Oh...", he frowned. "What?" Wakko sighed again, "You have just reminded me of that pain we all felt...that explains the let alone part...". Now Dot frowned as well, "Yeah...I know how it feels...I guess that's one of the reasons you got sick".

"Huh?" "I read somewhere, when you have such experiences, there's a chance of getting sick. I also read that sicknesses or illnesses in general sometimes start with a nightmare". Wakko's eyes widened, "And I just had to be the case of both?!". Dot sighed, "Sadly yes".

"You know, I feel weird just laying here...", said Wakko. "Yeah, me too", said Dot, "That's because we've never been to a hospiral". "You have a point", said Wakko, "Hey, I have a question for you". "Yes?" "Do we age now that we have no abilities?".

Dot tought for a second, "I don't know. Do you want that?", she asked. "No...", Wakko frowned, "I don't want to grow up". Dot chuckled, "Me neither. Hm...may I ask a question now?". "Go on", said Wakko, smiling. "Isn't it weird to live without a hammerspace?".

Wakko sighed, "That's the weirdest thing", he said, then frowned. "What is it?", asked Dot. Suddenly, Wakko felt a rush of nervousness, he had an idea he didn't want to have. "Now I can't get out a mirror...", but he trailed off. Dot made a confused face, "Well, I have one here, the nurse gave it to me", she said, "I can give it to you if you want". "Please do", said Wakko.

His hands were sweating as he took the mirror and looked at it, then very slowly took off his hat, revealing just a pair of ears he knew too well. His eyes widened again as he stared at what he didn't really expect to be himself.

"Me and Yakko look simillar...", said Wakko, "But how?!". Dot laughed. "What?!", asked Wakko as he gave her the mirror and put his hat back on. "That's normal, you're brothers!", she said.

"Hi sis". The two siblings turned their heads to see the oldest standing there with what seemed to be breakfast. It was like a trolley with three shelves. "Ah, morning Yakko", said Dot. "Did you get your cutie sleep?", he asked. "Uh-huh", she said, smiling. "Alright, I think we should eat now, Wakko's starving here", said Yakko. "He is? Aww, ok", said Dot.

After breakfast the nurse came into the room to check up on them. More specificly, on Wakko. "Good morning guys", she said calmly. "Morning", they said in unision. She came to Wakko's bed and kneeled beside it.

"And how are you doing?", she asked kindly. "A lot better", said Wakko, "Even the headache is gone". "Really?!", asked Dot excitedly. Wakko looked at her and smiled, she smiled back.

"I have a question", said Wakko. "Yes?", the nurse smiled. "Do we grow up now that we have no toon abilities?". The nurse chuckled, "Aw, no! Don't worry". Wakko smiled again and gave his siblings a big thumbs up. Then she got out a badge-like device.

"Now", she said, "This device checks the state of hypoglicemia. You just put it on your upper arm like a badge. But, the thing is that you can't attatch it over your sleeve". Wakko frowned, "Am I going to bleed?". "No...", the nurse said gently, "Don't worry, you'll be fine". Wakko smiled. "You scared?", asked the nurse. "Nope", said Wakko, grinning.

So, Wakko rolled up his sleeve and the nurse attatched the device to his upper arm. After a few minutes, she sighed heavily. "What now?", asked Dot, slightly worried. The nurse said only two words, "Got worse".

The three exchanged a look of understatement. They already knew by now that anything could happen, so this was one of the things. "But don't worry", said the nurse, "There's a solution for that". Their faces lit up. "Really?!", asked Dot. The nurse nodded, smiling, "But.. it includes needles", she said, "Again".

Wakko smiled, "That's ok, as long as I won't bleed". "Don't worry, you won't", said the nurse, "So, this thing you'll be getting is called insulin. I'll now give you this device so you can check how much of it you have in your organism. After that you need to take an injection with a specific amount of insulin so you can know what and how much you'll eat. I know it kinda sounds like drogs, but it's not. After you get injected you'll have to wait 15 to 30 minutes before you can eat something. Right now you have already eaten so the next injection has to be before lunch. If all of you have troubles doing something, just ask me for help, ok?". The three nodded, then Yakko raised a hand, "And how are we going to know the amount?", he asked. "Don't worry", said the nurse, "You can check it with the device again". Then she set the device and the needle on a nightstand between Wakko's and Dot's bed, "I have to go now, ok?", she asked. "Ok, see you", said Dot with a smile and the three siblings waved as she left. The other two then gave Wakko big thumbs up. "You can do it, brother!", said Yakko.

Back in the lot, Dr. Scratchensniff was sitting in his office, just done with an appointment, when the telephone rang. "Halo?" "Hello Dr. Scratchensniff, in case you're wondering, I had to stay at the hospital to take care of the Warners" "What?! What happened?" "Sigh, Wakko got really sick and now he's resting here" "Oh...Und when are zey coming?" "In two days" "Ah, great! Can't wait! We're planning a warm welcome here".

"Alright" said Dot as she stood beside Wakko's bed later that day, "You wanna earn your lunch?", she asked. Wakko just nodded, knowing exactly what she meant by that. "Then you'll have to learn to do this alone", said Dot, "I'm going to do it now just for the first time, and you have to watch, so the next time you can do it yourself, ok?" "Ok".

So, afrer Wakko checked the amount of insulin he had, 'cause he could already do that himself by now, he watched as Dot injected him in his upper arm again. "Wait. That's all I have to do?", he asked. "All?", Dot was confused, "Well, you have to remember where I injected you and you have to be very careful, of course". "Ah, ok".
