–WFI–Chapter 15 Wednesday, August 4

Rory and her crew were adjusting to being back in Hartford. They had been gone for a month. This week has been hectic. Rory signed, It was going to be hectic until school started. She couldn't wait.

Logan increased security. Ricky and Karson have not had time to open the cards they received at the engagement party. Karson was going to have some time today to write thank you notes. She called Ricky at work. He told her to go ahead. Rory told her she would help. Karson told Rory they were going to take part of this money and send her mom 2 round trip train tickets to Hartford for the wedding. And 1 night at the Morgan.

They opened the box. There were about 10 envelopes. "I thought there would be more," Karson said. "Ricky told me that he made more than one trip to empty his pockets," She picked up the phone and called Ricky. When he answered, he told her he was on the way to a meeting. She told him about the envelopes.

"I know I put 25 or 30 in there," Ricky said. "You think someone stole it?"

"I guess," Karson said, "Go ahead to your meeting, we will figure something out," Karson said. Rory and Karson opened the ones that they still had. It added up to $15,000.

"Wish I knew how much was stolen. We don't even know who to send the thank you cards to." Karson said.

"Most of these are checks," Rory said. "I have an idea." She got up and went into the office. She pulled out the invitation list. She called John. "John, this is Rory, I need the email addresses of all the business associates that were on the invite list for Ricky and Karson's engagement party," Rory said.

"Do you have access to Logan's work email?" John asked. Rory told him that she did. "Go into his email. Click on the one that says HPG. That should give all the emails that I have." John said.

"Thanks, John you are the best" Rory hung up and moved to Logan's desk. She opened his email and clicked on HPG.

"Okay, we are going to write an email to all of those that were at the party. We are going to explain that if a card was left with Karson, Ricky, or put in the Wedding Box, that the cards had been stolen and if it was a check that they should cancel the check." Rory said. "We will word it differently, but that will be the gist of it."

"Okay," Karson said "Let's get started. I don't care about them replacing the money, I just don't want whoever got it to have it."

"Yeah me too." Rory said.

After they come up with a good-sounding email. Karson emailed everyone on the invite list. Added her and Ricky's names and email addresses at the bottom. While she was doing that, Rory called Logan to tell him what happened and how they were solving the problem. He had not told Rory about Ricky watching Henry and Tristian.

"Who do you think?" Logan asked.

"I don't know," Rory said.

"Can I give you my opinion?" Logan asked. Rory told him to go ahead. "I watch Tristian Saturday night. He stayed away from the crowds. This is not the Tristian I remember." Logan said. "Ricky and I both noticed him talking with Henry at one point during the party. Then Sharon and Katie came to the house Sunday before we left. Was the box sitting out in the hall, ready to be packed into the car?" Logan asked.

Rory didn't say anything. She was thinking. Then she spoke up and asked. "What do we do about it? I mean, Karson and I have taken care of letting everyone know. So that the checks can have stop payments put on them. I want to know what we can do about finding out which one it was."

"Let me think about it and talk with Dillon," Logan said.

"Okay, See you are home tonight," Rory said.

"I love you," Logan said.

"Me too," Rory said.

Rory and Karson worked on wedding plans. Rory was more nervous than Karson about Brenda's visit. When Ricky talked to her at the beginning of the week, he told Rory about the conversation. He tried to tell his mother that two apartments and two hotel suites at the Morgan have been made available. He told her that she may have to share. One of the suites had two bedrooms and the other had four. He tried to tell her that if you got the one with the two bedrooms that she would probably be alone. She insisted that she would have to work at all hours of the night because her office was in Japan and the time difference. She told Ricky that she would just rent a hotel suite for herself. She asked him which hotel was the best. He told her The Morgan. He tried to explain that one of Rory and Logan's friends owns it, but she wouldn't let him get a word in. She told him she had to go and she would call and book her room. She also gave him her flight plan. She would be arriving on her company jet. She expected him to meet her at the airport.

Rory and Brenda have never had a relationship. When she was married to Billy, Billy was the one that talked to Brenda. Billy is the one that did the custody exchange. She and Brenda talked more after Billy died than they had the whole time that Rory and Billy had been married. Rory wasn't intimidated easily. Not since graduating college and coming into her own. But for some reason, Brenda intimidated her. Logan tried to tell her it was because Ricky looked to her as a mother figure and she was worried Brenda would change the way Ricky felt about her. Rory's therapist agreed with Logan.

Rory and Logan had started going to therapy after Em was born. Rory had been an emotional wreck and nothing Logan did help. Honor recommended a therapist. Logan and Rory made an appointment immediately. They do not go as a couple much anymore, but Rory goes on a regular basis. It helps her deal with Lorelai, Shira, Lana, Melissa, and any other person that threatens to mess up her family.
