–WFI–Chapter 20 August 13, 2027
The rehearsal supper is tonight. The wedding ceremony will be around the pool. The supper will be in Rory and Logan's dining room. The wedding will be small, so will the rehearsal supper. Ricky's best man is Jack. He will bring his girlfriend Tabitha. His groomsman is Eric. He will bring his girlfriend Kamran. Karson's maid of honor is Amanda. She will bring her boyfriend Sammy. Gigi is a bridesmaid and she will be bringing Louie. Em is the flower girl and Will and Chris are ushers. Including Rory, Logan, Sharon, Katie, and Brenda there would be 18 for the rehearsal supper.
The caterers have been at the manor most of the day. The wedding planner was out on the patio. She was giving instructions on where to place the tents. Rory was standing there with her hands on her hips, watching her through the window. Logan came up behind her, putting his arms around her. "We are taking bets on how long it will be before you storm the patio and take over," Logan said.
Rory whirled around in his arms "Is that so? Who is winning?" She asked, smiling up at him.
"OH, that would be me. I know my wife. She has more restraint than she is given credit for." Logan said. Rory was laughing, which was Logan's goal.
Karson came in the front door and slammed it. Rory and Logan both went to see what was going on. When they got to the foyer, Ricky was opening the door. "Really? Do you feel better now that you have slammed the door in my face?" Ricky yelled.
Karson had made it to the top of the stairs going down to the basement. She stopped and turned around. "Actually, I think I do. Can we do it again?" she asked. Ricky was storming to her when he stopped, noticing Rory and Logan for the first time. He turned back toward Karson, who was standing at the top of the stairs with her hands on her hips. She was doing all she could to not laugh. Ricky noticed.
He busts out laughing. "Well, come on, let's try it again." He said, grabbing her hands and pulling her back to the front door.
When they got to the front door, Ricky put his arms around her and held her close. She resisted, but only for a moment. She hugged him back, reached up, and kissed him. "I'm sorry. Next time Jack makes a joke like that, I will tell him he is being childish." He said smiling and kissed her back.
"Well, I guess the wedding is still a go. Was worried there for a minute." Logan said.
"Yeah, I was grabbing my phone to start canceling everything," Rory added. Everyone was laughing now.
Everyone has arrived. They are all in the living room enjoying drinks. The wedding planner is running around, making sure everything is in place. She told them they were ready to start. The pool house was being used for the bride and bridesmaids. Ricky and the groomsmen would enter from the basement door. They would be getting ready in Karson's apartment that she no longer used. Although rumor has it that Ricky will be sleeping in that room, while Karson and the girls take over his pool house.
The wedding planner had Ricky, Jack, and Eric standing at the glass doors going from the patio to the living room under the white wedding arch. It was plain but will be full of flowers tomorrow. The white chairs were set around the pool in pairs. The wedding planner started the cd. Logan steps out of the poolhouse, holding out his arm for the bride. Well, it was actually Rory. The bride was sitting in the chair closest to the wedding arch so that she could see any improvements.
Ricky Eric and Jack watched Amanda and Gigi both walk on either side of the pool. When they were in place, Em walked out with a basket with pretend flowers. She was told to go the same path as Gigi. When she got to her spot, Ricky turned around facing the minister. Rory stepped out of the pool house and took Logan's arm. When they started down the path of the flowers, Jack tapped Ricky on the shoulder and he turned around.
The wedding rehearsal took about three times. Jack and Eric were clowning around. Everyone retired to the dining room for the rehearsal supper. On the side, the buffet was steak, baked potato, salad, and bread. Everyone fixed their plates and sat at the dining room table.
When everyone was seated, Logan stood up to get their attention. "I would like to thank everyone for coming tonight. Right, Jack? Think I heard him say, it was worth watching Ricky take his death march to get to the amazing food that was always served."
Jack put his head down. "Sorry, I was just joking. I think this is a match made in heaven." He nodded at Karson. "Good luck." He said and rolled his eyes. Jack was a cut up. Always the life of the party. Everyone snickered.
"Anyway, thank everyone for coming and supporting these two. It has been a little over five years that I have known these two. When I think of family, these two are among my thoughts. Best of luck, Best Wishes, and Congratulations.
Jack got up next. His speech was funny, but in the end, he congratulated them and wished them the best. Amanda got up next. She told about how Karson came to school telling about the boys that had moved into the pool house. How she went on and on about him. Amanda told about she wanted to meet this guy because she knew this would be the guy that took her away from them. She wished for happiness and good thoughts.
Brenda got up next. She told of Ricky as a child. She told of how proud his dad was of him and how she wished he could be here to see how mature and responsible she was. She wished them good luck and best wishes.
When she sat down, Katie stood up. "I'm sorry, I didn't come prepared to give a toast, but I just want you to know, Karson and Ricky, I am happy for you. Ricky, I thank you for taking care of my baby." She sat down.
Ricky and Karson stood up. "Thank you. All of you." Ricky said.
"We would not be here, at this point in our life it had not been for the people in the room. Thank you." Karson said. Looking at Rory and Logan.
