Ch. 20
Katsuki groans, opening his eyes to the harsh sunlight filling his room along with the sound of persistent ass knocking. It was a Saturday, which meant no school, so he couldn't understand why the FUCK someone was banging on his door at-
He checks his clock.
"It's fucking 10 a.m." He mutters. "Are you fucking SERIOUS?".
The knocking turns rhythmic, a beat forming out of the sound and making it even more obnoxious, so he gets up. He didn't even feel like yelling through the door. Whoever was on the other side deserved to get yelled at directly to their face.
When Katsuki pulls the door open he sees that Kaminari and Kirishima stand on the other side of it, the former being the fucking idiot that was knocking.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?"
Denki's grin only grows wider before he slips past Katsuki and into the room. Kirishima gives him an apologetic smile and motions to the electric blond.
"He wanted to talk to you."
"Well no shit."
Once he's back on his bed, fully awake and even more annoyed now, is when Kaminari speaks.
"I need advice."
Katsuki scoffs, "About what? How to be less fucking annoying or how not to wake me up early on a damn Saturday?"
Denki gives him an exaggerated pout before changing back to his grin. "I want to ask Jiro out." He says. "Like, on a date."
"And what the fuck makes you think I can give you advice on that?" Katsuki asks, steadily growin more annoyed. He wakes me up early on a Saturday for this?
"Well, maybe Ami mentioned something about her to either of you?" He says hopefully, looking back and forth between the two of them. "She spends a lot of time with you two."
"Well yeah, but she doesn't talk about the girls with us." Kirishima tells him. "Nothing that would help you at least. So just go for it! See what she says."
"And don't do that stupid babbling thing you do when you get nervous." Katsuki adds in a grumble. "Or she'll think you're an idiot."
"Mean."
Katsuki shrugs.
"The girls also want to go back out to the hot springs today," Kirishima says, looking at Katsuki now. "I was on my way to tell you that when I ran into Kaminari. You weren't answering my texts or calls, so..."
The hot springs had been pretty nice last time. Relaxing and soaking sore muscles, it was a break he had desperately needed. Going had also resulted in he and Ami getting to talk after months of silence and him being given the chance to apologize.
"I'm down." He says. "So we're going tonight again?"
"That's the plan. Momo's at her parents' now getting the keys to get in and lock up again after we leave. So are you coming too, Kaminari?"
Katsuki and Kirishima both look over at him, noticing now that he'd been uncharacteristically quiet for the last two minutes.
Kaminari was looking down at the floor.
"Oi, I was just kidding when I said she'd think you're an idiot," Katsuki groans. He hadn't really meant to hurt his feelings if he had. "I'm sure she'll... think it's cute or some shit. Or-..."
Katsuki's eyes follow Kaminari's line of sight and his words die in his throat immediately.
Kaminari wasn't looking at the floor. He was looking down at Katsuki's pants from a few days prior...
Or more specifically... the lacy black panties hanging halfway out of it's right back pocket.
Katsuki's blood instantly turns to ice as he looks up slowly, meeting Kaminari's eyes, "Uh..."
Kaminari points, "What... are those?"
The room descends into silence. He hadn't even remembered he had them. When Ami left the night he'd brought her up here from the kitchen he'd forgotten to give them back to her. She hadn't asked for them either. And since he hadn't been in his room a lot recently he hadn't even had the time to clean up and hide them.
Katsuki opens his mouth and closes it, looking at Kirishima for help, but he looked even more lost than Katsuki felt. "They're... That's not-... Those aren't-"
Then it's like a lightbulb goes off above Kaminari's head, his eyes widening before he even says a word. "Do you have a girlfriend?" He asks, his voice a shocked whisper.
"NO!"
"Well I'm pretty sure they're not yours...?" Kaminari continues.
Katsuki grits his teeth and doesn't reply.
"Who is it?" Kaminari presses, excitement heavy in his tone. "Is it one of the 3B girls? You were wearing those pants when they were here."
"Do you track what I wear now?" Katsuki snaps.
"Nah man, I liked the pants and I wanted to ask where you got them from but you left."
Kirishima's eyes dart back and forth between the two as they talk, nervousness in his eyes. He hadn't said anything and Kaminari thankfully hadn't asked if he knew anything.
Then Kaminari gasps, "It's Ami, isn't it?"
Katsuki flounders, looking at Kirishima for help again.
"Kaminari, I don't think that-" Kirishima begins.
But Kaminari's connecting the dots out loud now. "She forgave you for being a massive asshole so fast that it didn't make sense. Now it does."
"So what?"
"So," he grins. "You two have to be dating."
The room is silent for a while before Katsuki rubs his hands down his face, sighing into his palms. "I swear to GOD, you better not say shit." He mutters in defeat.
Kaminari whistles, "And ruin the secret thing you have going on? I get why you lied."
"I didn't LIE."
"Tried to lie, then."
Katsuki glares up at the blond, "Promise that you won't tell anyone. Or I fucking swear I'll-"
Denki holds up his hands, "I promise. I won't say anything." Then, he grins again. "So you're fucking, huh?"
Katsuki yells and Kirishima dives between them as he lunges for Denki, sparks already lighting up in his palms.
This was going to be a fucking nightmare.
Katsuki sighs, pacing back and forth next to the hot springs' waterfall. He had texted Ami to meet him in the little grassy area beyond the rocks, near where they'd made up. It was secluded and hidden for the most part, and if he was going to tell her their secret was in the hands of another person then he was going to tell her face-to-face.
After a few moments Ami slips underneath the overgrown tree that hides the spot from view, giving him a little smile. "You look nervous as hell. Should I be worried?" She asks.
"...Possibly."
The smile drops and Ami gently takes his hands. "Hey," she drops her voice lower, looking up at his face. "What's wrong, love?"
The little term of endearment washes away some of his nerves, but only partially. "So... Sparky found your underwear in my pants pocket earlier when he came over." He tells her.
Ami stills before groaning, "Fuck. How...?"
"He came into my room early as fuck in the morning to talk to me about girl shit and ended up seeing them because I forgot to take them out of my pocket. Then he assumed shit until he hit the fucking mark."
She's silent for a moment. "...Do you think he'll tell anyone...?" She asks, but Katsuki's already shaking his head.
"I doubt it. I explained what was at stake and he doesn't want to be the reason you leave. I'd also kill him."
Ami snorts and wraps her arms around his waist, laying her head on his chest. Her wet curls tickle his skin, leaving trails of water as they race down to his towel. "I wish we could just... be normal." She says softly. "As normal as we could get, but sometimes I do wonder what it would feel like to be like everyone else. Like if we hadn't ended up with these quirks and big dreams. Do you think we would've met?"
Katsuki had honestly never looked back once he'd decided he wanted to be a hero. Even despite all the battles, all the scars, all the death... despite dying, he'd held on hard to being a hero. He'd already gone through so much that it wouldn't make sense to quit now.
But normal...?
Normal was something he hadn't ever though about before she asked.
"I think so," He says finally. "Maybe we would've gone to the same high school. I know I would've noticed you immediately." Katsuki tilts her face up so his eyes can meet hers. "I don't think I would've been able to ignore this face."
She blushes and leans up on her toes to kiss him. "And I wouldn't have been able to ignore yours."
"So yeah," he murmurs, brushing a stray curl behind her ear. "I think we would've met eventually."
"I wonder what your excuse for wanting to be around me would've been in a case like that."
Katsuki scoffs, "Training wasn't an excuse to be around you. I still haven't finished what I started, on that note."
Ami rolls her eyes and kisses his chin, "So you want to get back to training then?"
"We should."
"Mmm, probably. Having you in my room all the time is equally as beneficial though."
He looks down at her and grabs her hands, which had started to travel. "You're going to start a problem you don't have time to fix." He tells her in mock-disapproval. "And I'm sure sound echos off these rocks."
"Sounds like you're doubting me."
"Sounds like you're trying to get caught."
Ami grins, "Then be quiet and listen so we don't." repeating back his words from a few days prior when they'd been in the dorm kitchen.
Katsuki opens his mouth to shoot something back at her, but his words cut off in his throat when Ami takes a quick look around before she drops to her knees in front of him.
Oh fuck.
"Listen out?" She asks, looking up at him from the ground.
All he can do is nod, blood rushing to his cheeks with a fierce burn. Here? Right now? He had expected to come here, tell her about Kaminari knowing their secret, then head back before they were missed.
Not this.
Ami pulls his towel open and kisses a line across the front of his hips, right on the sensitive skin below his bellybutton.
Katsuki's breath catches, his hand going to push through her curls and hold her gently in place. As risky as this was, there was something about being out in the open that made a shiver of thrill shoot down his spine.
She looks up at him again, making eye contact as she leans in and presses her cheek to his growing erection. "I'll make it quick, I promise." She whispers.
His head falls back against the rock wall and he presses his fist to his mouth as she slips the tip into hers, sucking softly. He could feel his toes curling into the grass as she starts to slowly ease him down her throat, her tongue working gently as she does so.
Ami swallows around him and his hips jerk involuntarily, slipping deeper into her throat. She hums softly, a sound of amusement, then starts to bob her head.
It had only been a minute and he was already close. He'd blame it fully on being out in the open and the thrill adding to it, but...
He looks down and their eyes lock.
Anything he did with her made him weak.
When he cums he almost sees stars, squeezing his eyes shut so hard that colors explode behind his eyelids. A ragged gasp slips from between his lips and he covers his mouth to keep any more from escaping.
Ami doesn't seem to let up until she's sure she's drained him completely, right at the point where he's about to pull her off of him for fear his knees might give out is when she leans back. She runs her tongue over her lips and gives him a smug grin, "You taste good, you know?"
He groans and grabs her by the face, "Shut the fuck up. Please."
She laughs then muffles it when the sound -like he expected- bounces off the rocks above them. "Ok, ok," She whispers, still grinning. "I couldn't help it, I'm sorry." Then, climbing to her feet, she presses a soft kiss to his lips. "I'll head back first."
He kisses her, firmer this time, then presses his lips to her forehead, "Be careful."
"Always."
When she's gone, he waits a few minutes before heading out too. If someone had been walking to use the bathroom then they would've seen them coming out of the same place at the same time and that would've been a problem. Once he's back in the hot springs he takes a sip of a drink Eijiro offers him.
"How did she take it?" He asks.
Katsuki clears his throat and tries to shrug nonchalantly. "OK, I think. She wasn't mad because it was a stupid accident."
"So she's cool with me knowing?"
Katsuki sends a glare in Kaminari direction, "No. But it's not like we can undo it. Just know that if you fucking-"
"I know, I know."
Katsuki sinks down into the water and lays his head back, looking up at the stars. Despite how the day had started, he was feeling... at peace. The laughter and chatter around him was almost soothing for once, instead of annoying background noise. He wouldn't lie to himself and say that things hadn't been better since he and Ami had gotten together. It hadn't even been a month yet so the peace felt fragile at times, but he was trying not to let it get to him too deeply.
They had this. They'd get past it.
He'd gotten through a lot worse, so he just had to tread lightly until they were in the clear. Denki finding out had been irritating as hell, but at least it was him instead of someone like fucking Mineta. He would've gotten them caught immediately.
Katsuki looks over at Kirishima, who's now talking to Sero. He didn't want anyone else to find out accidentally, but he also felt weird hiding things from the few people he did actually consider friends. Then, the hairs on the back of his neck prickle. Katsuki looks over to his left and locks eyes with Izuku.
He motions him over.
Sighing, Katsuki walks through the water and over to where Izuku sits beside the waterfall, "What?"
"Something about you's changed." He says, a soft smile on his face. "You look happier these days."
Katsuki scoffs softly, looking away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Are things going well with Ami still?"
He turns and levels Izuku with a searching look, "...What do you mean?"
Izuku looks up at the stars above their heads, "She's been happier recently, too." He explains. "She started talking again."
"Again?"
"Yeah. She stopped talking a lot when you two were fighting. It was kind of like... she was far away, most times."
Katsuki hadn't known that. "And now?"
"She's happier than before."
He's silent. It almost felt like Izuku knew. While that would make sense, since he'd known him for almost his entire life, it didn't seem like he was searching for answers or asking questions. He decides that he doesn't want to look deeper. If Izuku knew then he knew, he wasn't a threat to their secret.
"She also still has the plushie you won her from the fair." He adds.
"I know."
"Does she know you won it for her, though?"
Katsuki shrugs. "I'm sure Ochako told her eventually."
"She said she started to but then changed her mind. She said it would sound better coming from you."
"Why are you asking me all this?"
Izuku shrugs, too. "I think it's just nice seeing you smile for a change. You do it when you talk about her."
The conversation sticks with Katsuki for the rest of the night. Even when he's finally in bed he still replays it in his head, what Izuku said lingering.
"-it's just nice seeing you smile for a change."
Maybe... softening up wasn't such a bad thing after all.
