–WFI–Chapter 22 Saturday, August 14 Part II
When Ricky and Karson got to the ballroom at the Morgan, it was full. Cocktails had been served. Finn left the ceremony after the kiss to get back to the Morgan and make sure everything was perfect. The party planner for the Morgan Hotel Chain did a wonderful job. The DJ was playing a mixture of songs. They hired Lane and Dave to DJ. Steve and Kwan were helping.
Ricky and Karson were ready to enter. They had been peeking through the windows to see how many people showed up. Dave took the microphone. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like for you to congratulate and welcome Mr. and Mrs. Ricky and Karson Greene." Ricky and Karson walked into the middle of the dance floor and stopped. They kissed. This time it was not PG. When they let up, Dave said. "For those of you that missed the wedding, this is the kiss." 'Unchained Melody' by the Righteous Brothers started playing. Ricky and Karson danced. They were alone on the dance floor. As far as they were concerned, they were alone in the building, maybe even the world.
When they finished the first dance. Dave said "This dance will be for all the mothers and sons to take the dance floor. 'Mother like mine by the band Perry.' started playing. Ricky went to his mother and asked her to dance. Rory was walking to the dance floor with Will. Halfway through the song, Chris broke in. When that song finished. 'Stealing Cinderella' started playing "Now, if the father and daughter will grab their partners and hit the dance floor. Logan escorted Karson to the dance floor. Christopher had Gigi on the dance floor, then Rory. There were a few more songs, Ricky and Rory danced. Ricky had wanted to dance with Rory for part of the Mother/Son dance, but Rory told him that they could dance later. She would dance with Will and Chris. She told him that she didn't want to cause any problems.
Lane took the microphone, "If everyone will find their seats, we will play some dinner music and the servers will serve you dinner. Everyone was eating and enjoying themselves. Before the cake was brought out for Karson and Ricky to cut. Will, Chirs, and Em went to the DJ platform.
Will and Chris picked Em up, standing her up on a chair. Will took the microphone. "We are Ricky's brothers and sister. I'm Will, this is Chris, no you have not had too much to drink, we are identical twins." This got the laugh he was going for. "This beautiful girl is our sister Emily. She won't answer to that. She prefers Em."
Chirs takes the mic from Will. "We are here tonight to toast our big brother. We have known Ricky all our lives. Ten years."
"Speak for yourself, I've only known him and Karson for 5 years" Em Said. Everyone was laughing.
Chris looked at Em. "Are you finished?" She smiled at him and nodded. Chirs continued "When we were 4 years old, Will and I," he said looking at Em. "Ricky came to live with us. Now here is where it gets interesting."
Will took the mic back. "You see, Karson was our nanny. She lived with us."
Em took the mic from Will. "Until I was older, I thought Karson was my sister too. Moma and Daddy treated her and Ricky just like they treated me and bubbas."
Chris takes the mic from Em, giving her a look. "We are up here to tell Ricky and Karson that we wish you the best and we are glad you are not moving far away."
Em took the mic. "We will talk later about removing the fence." She handed the mic back to Lane and hopped out of the chair she was standing on.
There were several other toasts. Logan gave one for him and Rory. Brenda gave one. Katie got up to speak, but only wished them the best. Ronnie sent a video, Wishing him and Karson the best. Tell him that she was sorry that they were not able to be at the wedding or reception.
After all the toast, the cake was brought out. Ricky and Karson cut the cake. No smashing the cake in the faces. The cake was taken away to be sliced and set out. Everyone was dancing and having a good time. Em had already crawled up in Logan's lap and was sound asleep. Luke came and got her and took her upstairs to one of the suites.
About 11:30, Karson and Ricky got ready to go upstairs to the honeymoon suite. Everyone gathered around as Karson got ready to throw the bridal boutique. Karson tossed it over her head, turned around to see who was going to catch it. Someone pushed Gigi to the center, but she stepped back, and Finn dove in to catch it. Everyone was laughing, but Charlie.
Jack got Karson a chair to sit on. When she was situated, Ricky got on his knees in front of her. He had a wicked grin on his face, Karson was smiling but saying "Don't you dare" through clenched teeth. Ricky removed the garter and flung it. Louie caught it.
Ricky and Karson said their goodbyes. Told the family they would come by the house before they leave for the Bahamas. Their plans were to fly to Jacksonville and have lunch with Aunt Ronnie and family, then they are boarding the cruise ship to the Bahamas and Key West.
Several people asked about where to put the cards they brought for Karson and Ricky. Logan explained that he would keep the cards for them to open when they returned. Dillon found out that Sharon took the money, but Ricky and Karson both did not want anything done. It turns out that she ended up with $200 in cash and $6700 in checks that she could not cash.
