CHAPTER 46

After the Tri-Force Trio saved their Kingdoms from the Moon of Majora. Link, Peach, and Zelda are sitting around the fully formed Triforce. Link looks toward Zelda, she nods.

"Queen Peach," Zelda says. "As a thank you for saving both our lives, and our kingdom. We wish to bestow a gift onto you."

"What kind of gift?" Peach asks.

"This." Zelda says. She points to the Triforce. "The power of the Triforce, when brought together, can grant the wish of any person who is worthy and touches it. Before we bring this holy artifact back into Hyrule, Link and I believe you have done more than enough to earn the right to use it."

"Really?" Peach asks in disbelief, Link nods. Peach looks at the Triforce in awe. "Very well then..."

Peach reaches her hand out towards the Triforce. The entire group watches her closely. She slowly grabs the Triforce with her other hand, and whispers her wish into the Triforce. "Please grant my wish!"

The Triforce turns white, and with a flash of light, the Triforce disappears. Peach stands up, a bright smile spreads across her face.

"I never expected such a miracle! Thank you so much!" Peach says with a tear of joy in her eye.

"No need to thank us." Zelda says. "I am glad that you are happy...what did you wish for? If I may be so bold to ask."

"I wished for peace between the Kingdoms!" Peach says with a smile. "I believe I have been granted my wish!"

"Excellent!" Zelda says. "Now that the Moon of Majora has been sealed away, we should be able to hold a celebration soon!"

"Yeah!" Burnscar yells. "Party at Zelda's place! Come on General!"

"You're not going anywhere without me!" Naranjo says, the two head down a path.

"We must get going," Azura says. "It is getting late, and the little one needs his rest" Maxil yawns as he rides on Yashil.

"I agree, we'll send him back to his village, then prepare to send them to my island." Yashil agrees.

Yashil and Azura hold hands as they walk away. Daisy walks up to Peach, Link, and Zelda.

"Luigi's gone forever..." Daisy says. "I'm gonna miss him so much."

"I didn't get to spend much time with him, but he was an amazing man," Zelda says sadly.

"I'm sure he'll be happy wherever he is," Peach says.

"It's going to be hard getting by without him," Daisy says, taking out her locket. "...I know he wanted me to keep on being the best dang princess there is though!"

She looks at the locket and smiles. "I am going to do everything I can to make him proud of me." She closes the locket and turns to Peach. "Hey, cous, you wanna piggyback ride back to my place? It doesn't look too far from here!" Daisy says.

"That's alright" Peach politely declines. "Thank you though."

"Your loss!" Daisy says, firing a Bullet Bill then riding it back to her castle.

"What do you think, Zelda?" Peach asks.

"You were right, Peach! This world needs peace!" Zelda says with a smile. "I think it's time to celebrate!"

"I agree, but I did want to ask a rather important question." Peach says. She turns to Link with a smile on her face. "Link, we have faced so many terrifying obstacles together! We have gone on an extraordinary adventure! During that entire time, I feel we've had..." Peach's face begins to blush. "...A connection. Link, the Mushroom Kingdom is going to need a King. I'd like for you to be their new King with me."

Link is completely dumbfounded. He looks up at Peach with stars in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, hold on." Zelda interrupts. "Link, we've known each other since we were children. I know you better than anyone else. We've helped each other through our worst together. I was there to comfort you when your dad died. You've been my most loyal bodyguard I've ever known. You're a model citizen and knight to Hyrule. All these years...I've felt a connection too."

Zelda takes Link's hand in hers. "Link, I'm scared to go back to Hyrule, I don't know if I'm ready to be a queen yet. However, I know if I had you by my side as my King. We would bring Hyrule into a new age of peace not just with its domains, but with our neighboring Kingdoms like the Mushroom Kingdom! Link, will you please be Hyrule's new king with me?"

Link's jaw drops open. Tears well up in his eyes as he looks at Zelda. He looks toward Peach, he looks towards Zelda again. He sits between both of them, they both take one of his hands in theirs. Link wipes away his tears and has a large smile on his face. Then he finally speaks for the first time in this entire adventure.

"I'd be honored to be your King...Zelda."

"I'd be honored to be your Queen, Link." Zelda says happily, kissing him. "Thank you, my friends." Zelda says to both Link and Peach. "I'm glad to have found you both."

Peach can't help but be a tiny bit disappointed. Link puts his hand on her shoulder. She sighs.

"Don't worry, Peach. I know what you're thinking. This is exactly why I wanted to give you this." Zelda says, taking out the Triforce and removing a piece of it. She puts it into Peach's hand. "To ensure that Ganon's evil can never again reign, I am trusting you to hold the Triforce of Power."

"But...why?" Peach asks.

"Because you are the queen of the Mushroom Kingdom, and because you've shown yourself to be a master of the power of kindness," Zelda answers. "You are the only person I believe can hold that piece of the Triforce responsibly."

Peach smiles as she takes the Triforce of Power in her hands.

"I understand," Peach says. "Thank you, for this honor."

Zelda places a kiss on Peach's cheek. "You deserve this. I can't wait to see how the Mushroom Kingdom turns out."

"Me either!" Peach says.

"Don't worry" Zelda says, "Your King is out there, somewhere. I'm certain you will find him."

"I guess we better get going then." Peach says. They all stand up.

"Goodbye for now!" Zelda says.

"Same here!" Peach says.

They both part ways toward their respective castles, smiling about the futures they hold in their hands. Link and Zelda taking each other's hand, and Peach fiddling with the Triforce of Power.
