Hi, so here is another chapter and I hope that you enjoy this one as much as you all enjoyed the last one. Again this story is not one hundred percent cannon compliment so therefore things will change and events will be different.

Disclaimer-Nothing here is mine just this story.

Please Read and Review.

And I will try to update sooner rather than later.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

Chapter 11-Be All My Sins Remembered

Seth Clearwater becomes part of the household—his sister not so much—Jacob dares to come inside. Alice finds a new drug (much to Jasper's annoyance) and the wolves make their presence known to the new pack and to the Cullen's.

"Just because everything is different doesn't mean anything has changed" Irene Peter.

And just like that, the werewolves were here to stay.

If she was being brutally, brutally honest with herself, it wasn't too bad.

Seth Clearwater at least seemed to enjoy some home comforts when he could. He had very politely asked if he could use their showers sometimes and Esme had been so thrilled she offered him one of the best bathrooms complete with a salt soak for tired muscles for the bath and a heated robe that had meant Seth had come downstairs in it while she had laundered his shorts and made him a bacon sandwich.

It would have been annoying but the problem was it was Esme and therefore she managed to make the annoying rather endearing.

Seth was the only one who came near the house. Nobody else bothered that much and for that Rosalie was relieved and also a little bit confused. As the days that the wolves were here turned into a week and then another day followed with no sign of Jacob Black, Bella seemed to become more morose and withdrawn. Rosalie did not understand it herself. She did not understand why Bella who had fought for Edward's baby, who had married Edward and who had stood by Edward when any sane woman (Rosalie included) would have thrown him to the wolves would be so attached to Jacob. She had told Jacob no time and time again and yet with each passing hour she became more moody, more despondent and constantly on the edge of bursting into tears.

Rosalie didn't understand it and though her gradual liking for Bella had increased over time she had to admit that it made her more sympathetic to Edward.

Not that it mattered. She didn't think Edward cared. Bella could run away with Jacob tomorrow and as long as that baby was out Edward wouldn't care.

Seth kept around as little as he could. His mother had rang and judging from what they had overheard she had not been too happy. In fact from the screaming down the phone she had been one car ride away from homicide. After Seth had let her scream she had demanded to speak to Carlisle who had assured her that they were not looking for a war, Seth and Leah were being looked after and she was perfectly welcome to come and see this for herself and if she wanted to bring Jacob's Dad along with him of course he was perfectly welcome too.

That had shocked her a little and then stiffly at the end she had said she wanted daily phone calls from Seth otherwise her anger would reach biblical proportions. Seth had nodded sounding (though not looking) contrite and she had hung up.

"Well" Seth said with a sigh. "That could have been a whole lot worse."

"She is more than welcome to come and see you are safe herself Seth I meant that"

"Thanks Doctor C. And I wouldn't put it past her. Sam can't alpha her into submission and if Old Quill or Billy tried she'd lamp them into next week. I give it maybe another week and she's gonna come and see us. It's not me you understand I think she knew that I was gonna go with Jacob. It's Leah. I think she was prepared for my defection, Leah's shocked her. It's the first time Leah's shown any interest in anything since Sam—"

He chewed his lip for a second and then grinned.

"God it's nice to be able to call the piece of shit a piece of shit. Sorry Mrs C"

"That's quite alright Seth. Now I've made some more bacon do you want another sandwich?"

"Hell yes. I should tell my Ma about your kitchen she'd come down just to take a look at the marbling"

After so long of constant bitter arguments and a pained, prologued silence even Rosalie could admit that the constant chatter of Seth Clearwater was like a soothing balm to the Cullen's frayed and damaged nerves.

The other thing she found she rather liked about him was that he had come to accept that there was a baby inside Bella and not a thing. Rosalie liked anyone by default who would stand her friend when it came to this one crucial fact. Even Emmett had still not gotten around to calling the baby a thing and it showed. She and Emmett were strong but yet somehow divided on this issue and so she would take any allies she could get.

Weather Seth actually believed what he was saying she didn't know. He didn't want to touch Bella, didn't want to go near the baby unless he could help it but he seemed to have realised that if he upset Bella he hurt her and he had clearly decided that he didn't want to do that either.

All in all he was not a terrible person.

There…that was as far as Rosalie could go.

She would never admit that she liked him (she had some standards after all) but in terms of dogs she supposed he was not the worst that one could have.

If only they could get rid of the smell.

There were other flies in the ointment of course and that was that the baby was still not feeding. Bella was starving around it and nobody could figure out why he wasn't taking food or just what he wanted. Bella was now convinced that it was a boy and so she had started calling it him.

But he was starving that much was clear and nothing seemed to work. The IV was next to useless. To be honest Bella had voiced an opinion on weather or not it was even worth having it in anymore and it had only been Carlisle's insistence that at least it was helping her that had convinced them both it should stay in.

"I think he will only need another week or so" she said stretching. The baby had kicked this morning and knocked out a rib and Carlisle had taped it up as best he could with a pained expression. They were running a race now between Bella's body and the baby and everyone knew it.

Finally it seemed Bella knew it.

That was a good thing. Rosalie was ready and raring to go as soon as Bella was.

Soon her nephew would be born.

Edward whenever she thought this shot her a look of utter hatred but she had grown so used to them that she didn't really care anymore. Her relationship with her most complicated brother was already in the toilet so what was the point in worrying about it anymore? When his son was born perfectly whole and healthy then he was sure to change his mind.

But they should start having the conversation about names soon. And a nursery. They needed a nursery.

Carlisle, Jasper and Emmett had taken over as much research as they could in those long days where night became day and vice versa. They took over the research and the preparation of the medical room. Bella ran hot and cold and yet when Seth turned up (after the initial pouting that it was not Jacob) he and Edward found a way to make it work between them. Sitting there and watching and helping Rosalie could feel herself coming alive again (pardon the obvious pun). There was a light at the end of the tunnel that they could see now. All they had to do was find a way to feed the baby.

And then surprisingly it happened.

Jacob Black dragged himself into the house at three in the morning looking as battered and bruised and aching and all put collapsing on the floor. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep and then slowly as he slept he turned from wolf to human. Esme ever the host found a pillow and a blanket but he slept there on the floor like a dog and not like a boy of sixteen.

Rosalie winced at the smell.

Seriously…they were going to have to burn the carpets when all of this was over. And then dig up the floors and have them redone. The stench got everywhere and there was nothing that they could do about it.

And then came Alice down like the bat in the belfry.

She had been up in the attack for most of the last few days trying to control the monster headache that had attached her from the second the baby was born and she shuddered shaking with her whole body as she sat down next to Jacob. That was a general response to the smell and then Alice sat down and she closed her eyes. Jasper who had followed her down stared at her.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Getting some peace"

"Getting some—Alice!"

"Jazz I can't see anything when he's near. Or when any of them are near. It's lovely. And I need it. My head feels clear for the first time since this nightmare began. I can put up with the smell for a while."

"I don't like you near him"

"Then go sit over there and watch, but I am not moving"

Jasper gnashed his teeth together and shuddered a whole sigh chomping down his emotions. Emmett was sat on the couch reading something on his laptop and he threw the IPad at Jasper who caught it with an ease that would have flummoxed a pro-baseball player.

"Look into those legends for Carlisle will you if you're staying. I need to go outside"

"Why?" Edward asked and everyone looked at him, it had been a while since Edward spoke. Emmett looked at him with dark eyes. It had been a long time (or so it seemed) since they had burned golden butterscotch.

"Because I haven't fed in weeks Edward and I need to breath in some heavily polluted wolf air to hide the burn. And I can't do it with her in the room" he pointed at Bella and Rosalie was surprised to hear the snap in his voice though he didn't know weather or not it was directed at her or at Bella or at Edward, perhaps it wasn't and it was just the situation itself but she didn't know. It was…odd…she was not sure what to do about Emmett right now. She had never seen him like this and she knew that it was because he was raring for something to do. The problem was that the one thing that he wanted to do was fight and there was no fight yet. The promise of one, yes. But an actual fight.

Not yet.

And then suddenly the wolves cried.

Jacob forced himself out of his sleep and had transformed in a blur of ripped blue cloth. Rosalie dropped into a crouch. Edward much the same. Jasper went to join Emmett out the door so fast that even to her it was a blur and Carlisle went after his sons weather to help or weather to stop them it didn't matter. Esme and Alice stood by the door.

And they waited.

They didn't have to wait long. Edward who had been listening spoke clearly so all of them even Bella watching him with fearful eyes her hand over her stomach could hear.

"It's Paul, with Quill and Colin. He wants Jacob to come home. Apparently Sam doesn't want all out war"

"Figured out he can't win?" Alice asked shrewdly. Edward shrugged. "That or he knows the element of surprise is gone. I don't think he wants a fight. He's got Sue, Billy, all of them to think about, if he slaughters their sons and daughter he's going to face some real opposition."

"Why Colin?" Bella asked quietly. "If he wants Jake to come home he's better off sending Embry with Quill. They're his best friends."

"Probably doesn't want to lose another wolf. Jacob and Embry are best friends but there's nothing in La Push for Embry to stay for. If he sees the opportunity he might run" Edward explained shrugging. "The bond between the three of them is strong. But then again what do I know about bonds"

He did not phrase it as a question. In fact he phrased it as a benediction. A standing point.

God he was dramatic. He was technically only twenty years older than her (human ages) and hadn't his time period been full of the stoic men? Wasn't drama supposed to come years later when the war was over?

He shook his head. Bella's pale hand reached out from the mound of blankets as if she wanted to touch him but she dropped it just before her cold skin could make contact with his. Edward wasn't even looking so locked was he in his own memories, or perhaps in the conversation outside. However Rosalie watching him saw his mouth flicker as if he was truly amused by something for the first time.

"What?"

"Sam passed on a message to Leah. I might not have the best experience with woman but somehow I don't think calling her by the nickname he used when they were in bed together is going to inspire Leah to come back and play second fiddle to him and Emily"

Rosalie wanted to know just what he meant by that but now was not the right time.

Edward tilted his head to the side again and sighed.

"I don't think they know Sue has been calling, apparently they are guilt tripping Seth. Apparently Sue wants to know how they will eat and clothe themselves. Jacob has apparently told them that he considers himself homeless. They eat and sleep rough now apparently."

Esme let out a little whimper of distress.

"Esme" Rosalie hissed. "They're wolves"

For Pity's sake was she the only one who remembered this? Must they cater to every supernatural creature in the world now?

But there was no stopping Esme now, there would be clothes and food and shower supplies and all sorts. There would be cookbooks and recipes and soon they would open a soup kitchen. Rosalie could see it now and it made her muscles clench with the effort not to roll her eyes.

Esme of course ignored her.

"Their going" Edward said finally standing up and walking to the window away from his wife who was watching him with wide eyes. "They didn't intend to stay."

"So we've won the battle?" Alice said. It was a mark of how preoccupied Edward was that he didn't answer her. Alice his favourite in the whole world. The sister that he would listen to, the sister who had been prepared to drop everything and trap his wife at a moment's notice.

"No" Rosalie said scathingly. "We haven't won shit until the baby is born"

"Rosalie, language"

"Sorry Esme"

"Jacob wants to come back in"

"Does he not realise we can hear…"

"I don't know. Carlisle is talking to him now. And offering him shorts"

"Good" Rosalie said quietly. There was no need for them all to suffer mortal embarrassment, disgust and utter irritation all at once. Already tensions were high. Rosalie came from a time where the only man you saw naked was your husband and she was quite content to let it stay that way.

Jacob came in his eyes going to the baby as soon as he stepped into the room. Maybe it was easier for him to look at the baby as opposed to Bella who had looked at him as if he was the guiding light to the universe.

"That's it" Edward said standing up. Rosalie looked at him and Bella looked at him. For a man who had looked like he was being burned alive suddenly Edward looked different. He looked…animated…she didn't understand it and yet…

"Carlisle?"

"What?"

"Jacob just had an interesting thought"

"He did?"

"I did?"

"You did. And Rosalie don't be insulting"

"What's happening?" Emmett said coming back into the room, Jasper following him.

"Jacob's just had an idea"

"You did?" came two surprised replies.

"I have been known to have them" Jacob said testily.

"You were thinking about blood"

"Aren't we all" Jasper muttered.

"That wasn't a thought" Jacob said staring at Edward. "That was a very snide comment"

"What was it Jake?"

Jacob stared at Bella with dark, pained eyes.

"That the thing inside of you was just looking for something to sink it's teeth into"

For a second they all stared even Carlisle shocked into complete and utter silence.

Leave it Bella to put the pieces together before the rest of them.

Jesus Christ had it been staring them in the face the whole time?

Had it really been that simple?

"You think he's thirsty?"

Of course.

Rosalie looked at Emmett who was looking at her and for the first time she saw hope in her husband's eyes and that fuelled her in a way that nothing else had done so far.

Of course. The half vampire baby was thirsty.

Rosalie smiled. Emmett smiled back.

Emmett had hope now.

And that was worth it's weight to Rosalie in gold.

And there you go, I hope that you enjoy this chapter and I will do my best to bring you the next one sooner rather than later.

Next Chapter-Bella and the baby feed for the first time since this all began. And Edward begins to hear strange thoughts. The Cullens go for a feed. Finally.
