( Entreri:

When I saw the fires in his lavender eyes,
They seemed to pierce my heart,
Those eyes that knew too much,
The eyes that threaten to burn me.

Drizzt:

That one's eyes are dark and cold,
Almost making me shudder but for my pride,
His heart turned black long ago,
I pity him for having no compassion or love left in him.

Entreri:

How I wanted to cut out those eyes of his!
He pitied me.
I will make him regret he ever pitied me.
I will make him choose how his friends will die at my hands.

Drizzt:

His hate consumes him, has total control over his actions,
Yet, I still pity him, undeserving as he might be,
If I didn't, I would be akin to him,
I would become a shadow creature, and after all my work that would be a waste.

Entreri:

(Aloud) Does you not understand the greatness before you??

Drizzt:

(Aloud) I see no greatness before me, only a frightened shadow living a lie.

And with that final blow to Entreri's pride, Drizzt hamstrung him. The fall seemed so slow to Entreri; Artemis Entreri who had never been bested before fell. Drizzt finished Entreri by decapitation.
