Chapter 3 of my Walking Dead story, enjoy.

Reviews

Boris Yeltsin: Thanks.
Parent12D: Thanks, and yeah well, that's only ever the case when the person responsible is a killer, also Beth is technically an adult being 18 and all, but yes, point well taken :) Thanks glad you liked them and yes, that was indeed what Rosita was hinting at ;) Oh no, absolutely not misogynistic, completely different look, anyways, yeah, we can only wait and see as the mystery develops.
Wolfgirl2013: Thanks :)

Now onto the story.

Season 1: Episode 3

With school over for the day, Sophia, Enid, Laurel and Marissa went to meet up with the boys after gym class, the last class of the day. As they were leaving Enid noticed what Carl had before, that specific coach and the strange way he was looking at them, particularly Laurel and Marissa. He at least looked away when he caught her glaring at him. Soon they joined Carl, Jamie, Andrew, Brian, Ron and Mikey as they headed out of school.

"Hey guys, so, what's up?" Carl greeted them all.

The others all gave a few positive responses before Ron spoke up.

"So I was thinking, it's Friday, school's over. Why don't we go to our usual spot and hang out?"

The others grinned and Marissa then said. "Sounds good to me."

The others all agreed and soon they were on their way, heading for their usual spot, a grassy area by the river, right next to the large bridge that crossed the river and headed out of town.

They simply relaxed, making small talk and just passing team, during this time Laurel smiled lightly, smoothing down her tartan mini skirt as she turned to Jamie sitting next to her.

"So Jamie..." She began, batting her eyelashes in that classic flirty way.

Jamie however did not seem to get the message. "Yeah, what's up Laurel?"

This made her falter a little but she recovered. "So I was wondering, homecoming's coming up at the end of the month, you wanna go?"

Jamie bit his lip, considering for a moment, still not picking up her signals.

"Well um, I don't know, maybe..." He replied carefully.

Seeing this Laurel sighed but dropped the matter, shaking her head.

Meanwhile, smiling as he listened to her talking about the most recent book she had been reading Andrew watched Marissa with a warm feeling blossoming in his chest.

'Wow...' He thought. 'Marissa gets so animated when discussing something she's passionate about.'

Marissa turned and smiled at him. "So, yeah, it's an interesting point, don't you agree Andrew?"

"Uh." He stammered, taken off guard, luckily he had in fact been paying attention. "Yeah, it sure does, wow."

Marissa seemed pleased with his response and continued. Meanwhile, watching this unfold, Carl and Sophia shared a smirk.

"Could he be any more obvious?" Carl whispered. "We can all see it after."

"Yeah, all of us except Marissa." Sophia said quietly, giggling.

Still the friend group continued hanging out without a care in the world, unaware of the danger that lurked nearby.

Standing in the trees of the nearby woods, shadowed from view, watching the group of friends carefully was a hidden figure.

'So...these are the friends of my last model...interesting.' They thought as they carefully analyzed the group. 'My project is still not finished though, maybe they will be the ones to help with that, a new model...'

The figure looked carefully at each member of the group, picking out features they found most attractive, seeking someone to suit his current aesthetic tastes. His gaze finally landed on Laurel, currently frustrated at Jamie not noticing her flirting attempts, gee tartan mini tucked neatly as she sat, drawing attention to her long yet still chubby legs, particularly her thick thighs.

They grinned deviously. ''Well, well, what an interesting girl...rather different from the last one...yet still a beauty. She'll be perfect.'

With that dark thought, the figure turned and left, already plotting their next move.

Finally returning home, Andrew was still smiling as he thought back to his time spent with his friends and especially his talk with Marissa.

'That was a wonderful time.' He thought, but remembered that there were still issues. 'Of course, Beth is still dealing with what happened to her and everything that's going on...I just hope now that Beth's back and safe that things don't get worse.'

Still smiling he entered the house and was soon greeted by his mother Mary.

"Andrew, welcome home sweetheart." She greeted him happily.

Andrew greeted her happily, hugging her. "Hi mom."

Mary returned the hug. "So, how was your day?"

"Yeah, it was good." Andrew explained. "We all had a good time, just...still thinking about Beth and what happened to her."

"Oh yes, that poor girl." Mary gasped.

Andrew grimaced and nodded. "Yeah. I just, I just wish there was something we could do for her."

It was then Benjamin Pierce, Andrew's father, entered.

"I heard that too." He said. "It's crazy, who could have done this."

Andrew sighed and shrugged. "I wish I knew. It's just such a mess, but the police can't find anything."

He could see the sympathetic looks from his parents and knew this wasn't surprising, this was his family, they cared greatly about others and that was something that made him feel secure.

At the same time as Brian arrived home, he spotted his brother Michael also reaching his home.

"Hey Brian, you were out?" Michael greeted his brother.

Brian nodded. "Yeah, you too by the looks of it."

Michael smiled. "Yeah, I was just out at the library."

Brian nodded and unlocked the door and they headed inside and quickly got their shoes off before heading through to the kitchen. Inside they found their father, Robert Goring, already at work cooking dinner, something he usually did anyway since he worked as a chef.

"Ah, finally got home, boys?" He greeted them jokingly.

They both smiled and laughed lightly.

"Yeah dad." Brian replied, shaking his head.

Michael looked around, biting his lip. "So um, where's mom?"

Their mother Sherry was no present in the house which was slightly concerning, but not overly alarming, given her job as a nurse."

Sure enough Robert explained. "She's working a little late, but she'll be home before nine."

"Ah, well, alright." Brian remarked.

Both boys nodded and casually made their way to their rooms to get changed and look forward to dinner, just glad that despite the current difficulties happening in town, things were looking okay for them in their family.

Letting out a soft sigh as she reached the third floor of the apartment building. She approached the apartment and took out her key, opening it up and entering. The apartment wasn't large, but wasn't exactly small either. Making her way down the small corridor to the combined living room and kitchen she smiled lightly as she spotted her mother, Carol Peletier, seated on the sofa, looking over the assortment of papers on the small table in front of her.

Looking up at her daughter, Carol smiled warmly. "Sophia, welcome home, how was your day?"

Sophia smiled and walked over to sit down next to her mother. "Hey mom, yeah, it was fine. I think everything's getting better...although still there are some questions about Beth."

"Ah yes, it's terrible what happened to that poor girl. But she has people to look for her at least." Carol remarked. "She's safe now, she has her father and her sister…"

Sophia nodded. "Yeah...family to help her. Lucky for her."

She sounded wistful and Carol smiled sympathetically, putting her papers for her teaching course at college aside and pulled her daughter into a hug.

She knew why Sophia was so wistful. "I know, Sophia, I know. But remember, we're safe now too, happy."

Sophia agreed privately with this, smiling, knowing her mother was referring to her abusive father, Ed, now in jail for everything he had done. It was just her and her mother now and Sophia had to admit, she didn't mind that one bit, it was just better that way.

Having seen Marissa and Laurel home, Enid knew that she would be the last of her friends home, the other two girls homes being on the way to her own home so Enid had no problem walking home with them.

'Ah, finally.' She thought. 'What a day...I just hope things don't stay this crazy.'

So many things filled her mind from over the past week or so, all of it not making much sense, or what did make sense was not exactly encouraging. Beth's disappearance, revealed to be a kidnapping which she had little memory of, then there was her own problems.

'On the outside we look normal and happy, but things aren't great between Ron and I...he's been acting way too...aggressive lately.' She thought sadly.

"Enid?"

She started and turned, managing to relax and smile when she saw it was her adoptive mother, Maggie, her husband Glenn seated by her side, both in the living room clearly relaxing.

"Everything okay?" Maggie asked.

Enid bit her lip. "Um, yeah, of course. It's just, you know...all the stuff that's been happening, it's kinda...overwhelming at times."

Glenn tilted his head. "You sure that's all?"

Enid swallowed but nodded; while she appreciated them adopting her and giving her a chance to have a normal life after the loss of her family, but it still a struggle for her, especially in regards to trusting them.

"Yeah, yeah it's fine." She said. "I'll be down later."

They both nod, looking unsure as Enid headed upstairs and into her room, just as her phone buzzed.

Enid quickly got into her room and closed the door behind her, just as her phone buzzed again. Shaking her head she checked it and saw two messages from Ron, in quick succession.

'You should come over to mine, my parents and brother are out, got the place to ourselves.'

Enid grimaced reading that, already sure of what he was insinuating.

Sure enough the next message confirmed. 'Think about it babe, just the two of us, I can't imagine a more ripe scenario.'

Rolling her eyes Enid typed her reply, unable to believe he was still trying this.

'Ron, we spoke about this, the answer is no.' She typed. 'How many times do I have to tell you; I'm not ready.'

She sent the message then set her phone down, ready to get her clothes looked out for after her shower.

Her phone buzzed again. Sighing she checked it and her eyes widened.

'Again with the not ready lie, you need to stop teasing me. Just get over here, right away.'

'Who the hell does he think he is?' She thought angrily.

She typed her response while doing her best to stay calm.

'I said no, I meant no, that's all there is to it Ron, accept it. This conversation is over.'

Sending that she stalked off to the shower, still outraged at the blatant harassment. Things between her and Ron were certainly not good anymore.

The following day, Saturday, Carl and Mikey had met up with Ron and were on their way to meet up with Jamie, Andrew and Brian, having organised to meet up, while the girls already had plans of their own. On the way, they noticed that Ron seemed agitated.

"Ron, you okay dude?" Carl asked warily.

Ron shrugged. "Urg, it's Enid, I just can't believe her lately."

"Enid? What about her?" Mikey asked.

As he did so, he shared a look with Carl, both had already been told by Enid about Ron's unusual and worrying behaviour.

Ron turned to them, glaring. "I just, I'm getting fed up with this constant teasing from her. We've been together more than long enough, we're both ready, yet she keeps pretending she's not."

They both were startled by his words, unable to believe what they were hearing.

"Dude, I don't think she was pretending." Mikey pointed out.

Ron scoffed. "Oh come on, give me a break, she stood me up last night when I told ger to come over since we'd be alone, she keeps saying the same excuse, it's just not-"

"Ron, stop." Carl cut him off. "Do you here yourself right now, that's not cool man."

Ron glared at the two of them then sighed.

"I didn't expect the two of you to understand." He remarked. "Those idiotic ideas you have on relationships and how to treat your partners, give me a break. I know what I'm talking about, you don't."

With that he stalked off angrily.

Carl and Mikey stared in shock at his outburst.

"That was messed up." Mikey muttered. "He's turning into his dad, I swear."

Carl nodded. "Yeah, he certainly is. At least he's clearly not going to be joining us now. Wouldn't be able to stand being around him after that."

Mikey agreed then added. "We should still tell the others, and try to warn Enid."

Carl agreed with that and they hurried to meet the other guys.

Making his way back home after time spent with the rest of the guys, Carl ran a hand through his long hair, biting his lip, feeling rather awkward.

'Whoa, that was...that was weird. How...' His mind raced.

They had proceeded to hang out with the rest of the guys and had warned them about Ron, now they could all keep an eye on things. But while they were together Carl began finding himself distracted. His gaze kept being drawn a particular way, and every time he looked, a strange feeling stirred deep within him. Something which left him feeling warm and strangely calmer. At least until he realised what was going on and began inwardly panicking.

It happened whenever he looked at Jamie, leaving Carl to wonder, had his feelings for the young man actually changed into something more. Romantic.
