I'm so sorry I'll be better this time :'). Enjoy!
He had thought it in his head, over and over he did. He thought of every outcome. Is she even home? What if she gets mad at him for not showing up sooner? Should he even be here? Again, he asked questions, slightly freaking out. He was still wondering if he was still on the roof and this was just a dream.
Plus why should he be wasting his time, going on a ghost hunt with two mobs who can talk, well one this is freakishly annoying any how, so why drag Alexinto this? Why listen to the entity that trys to kill you? Too many questions without answers.
He looked over his shoulder too see two mobs a few good feet back behind a tree, Ender slightly waves, Phil just glares. Maybe he should just go back and no try to bother Alex.
As he turns around, he heard the door open with a creak and he froze.
"Steve?" A female voice said. Steve inwardly screaming. He whipped around and rubbed the back of his head. "A-alex! H-how nice to see you!" Steve studdered, hating himself for not leaving sooner. "Steve! Where the heck have you been!" She said in a more joyful tone than exected, which surprised him to say the lest.
What he didn't exect was for Alex to basically launch herself at him in a massive hug. He stiffened, still screaming at himself. She finally let go, and he forced a smile on his face. "It's good to see you again! Where have you been?" she asked, she seemed pleased with him being there. Thank goodness. He still had to say something that didn't envolve being struck by lighting, and meeting two mobs.
"Uh well, you know, normal things, farming and stuff.." He awkwardly said, looking at the ground, shuffling on nervous feet.
"What? Your farming now? What happen to killing mobs and looking in caves?" Alex questioned.
"Well you know how it is, moving into a new village, and trying to work things out, I'm not a ruthless mob killer anymore just for the fun of it, I'm setteling down now in a new house, a new village, a new part of the world, a new start." Steve said sadly, but it was the truth, he had moved from his old village and into the house his grandfather gave him.
Alex crossd her arms, and gave him a unbelievable look, yep there it is, the face that is going to appear on her face when I tell her what's really going on.
"It isn't about that thing that happened in the mine is it?" Alex questioned, "How could you move out of the one village you and me grew up in?" Alex uncrossed her arms as she spoke and lifted them in the air to exaggerate her words.
The mines…
He remembered clearly what happened, yet he didn't want to. Of course the one time he visits Alex, old wounds have to be split open again.
When they were younger, 10 yares old to be exact, he wanted to go mining with his father…
It was a late morning, early afternoon, and his father was packing to go into the mine,
"Father can I go with you this time?" He asked, his small hand reaching out and tugging the pant leg of his father, eager to go.
His father chuckled, and ruffled his sons hair, "In due time my son. For now you can watch the cattle while I'm away." His father said, his voice was deep and smooth. His father got up to leave and out the door, but his son was stubborn and wouldn't have no for an answer if it ment being with his father. "Oh please dad, can I go? Can I can I can I?" He said gripping onto his leg, looking up at his father with pleading eyes.
His father chuckled once again, looking down at his son, as he picked him up into his arms. "Okay okay, but just this once."
"Yay!"
And with that they left out the door.
They past there lively village, shops open all round, traders, scavagers, travalers, warriors, any one really.
They headed down a ladder with Steve on his fathers shoulders, his father was a strong man.
They landed with a thud on the ground, as his father lit a torch to light the way.
"This here son is the mines, be carful, who knows what kind of creatures are down here…" He said, as they went down a long tunnel, at the end was a light.
Steve was excited, but a bit warry to be honest.
They reached the light, and were greeted by several others mining away, torches everywhere on the walls, blue, yellow, and greys could be seen being swung, most likely pickaxes being used.
His father picked him up off his shoulders and put him on the ground. "Stay by me son." and with that, he put a gentle hand on his back and they walked.
"Hey there Harold! Didn't expect you in the mines today." Someone walked up to his father and shook his hand, "Ah well, I want to punch in today for the extra hours." He said.
"Oh and I see you brought someone with you!" He said as he crouched down to his height, Steve didn't like this person, so he hid behind his fathers leg. He chuckled.
He usually isn't this shy, but he was warry, in a new area with new people, maybe not so new, but new enough he didn't know them very well.
"Oh c'mon now son, this is Miles! Hes an old friend of mine." His father said, gently pushing his son to meet someone new.
He shyly waved hi as he shuffled nervously on his feet.
He laughed slightly, "Well you already know my name, whats yours?" He asked.
Steve replied, "Uh, mines Steve." He said. "Well nice to meet you, Steve." Miles stood up again and dusted off his hands. "I'll leave you to it now, I'll tell the others that theres a kid in here so they don't be too roudy." Miles looked down at Steve, "I'll see you later Steve."
He walked away with his pickaxe on his shoulder.
"C'mon Son, I want to show you the tunnels," And they walked, Steve looked around in aw, so many colors and shiny greys, sure to anyone who is used to being on the surface wouldn't see it as some magical fairyland, but to Steve it was magical, and it brought him warm feeling in his little stomach, and he giggled, and started running. He didn't hear his father laughed and call out to him, nor did he hear the weird noises, until he stopped at a weird bright blue color deep inside a rock.
"Ooo." Steve said in aw, as he touched it, it was cold to the touch. Of course it would, it was in a cave after all.
He turned around to see his father running up to him. Catching his breath he said, "Don't run off like that, you know your old man can't run like he used to." He walked up to Steve. "What have you found Little one?" He said, as he saw the blue. "Hey look at that! Your a natural! Good job sport." He said looking at his son.
Steve had the biggest smile, "What is it though father?" He asked, looking back at the blue.
"That there is diamond son, it's rare in these parts, not as rare as emerald per say but pretty rare." He said, as he got out his pickaxe, "Step back son, don't want me accidentally hitting you." So steve backed up as he watched his father hit the ore with his pickaxe, breaking chunks off the wall of grey.
After that he picked up the pieces and insected them, "You did good son, I think you'll-"
Before he could finish his sentence, a rumble could be heard, and they both looked up, Gravel.
"Son, get out of the tunnel, now." He said lowly, but Steve didn't move. The ceiling started to crack up, spilling some gravel onto the ground. "Go son, now!" He yelled, Steve ran for it as the ceiling came down, his father right behind, or so he thought, he saw a light down the tunnel. And jumed as the gravel settled and a huge could of dust woffted in the air.
He sat up and was amazed he made it out, they made it out. "Hey! Hey dad we made it- .."
He looked around to not see his father there. "Dad?.." He looked around until his eyes landed on the gravel behind him.
His father didn't make it.
He didn't cry, he didn't move. He just stood there. Unmoving, not paying attention to the muffeled yelling, and urgent moving. Someone scoped him up and left…
And thats all he remembers. His father brought him into the mines, and then poof, his father was gone. Just like that. And maybe thats why he left, to not have to remember, maybe Alex was a reminder too, a reminder that he didn't have anyone else, maybe thats why he cut off ties with her, he didn't mean it like that with being occupied and all.
"I don't know, I just thought it would be a good change in scenery I guess…" He lied again, rubbing his arm.
Alex sighed, "Well… your here now, wait, why are you here? Did you miss me?" She said in a mocking tone, with her hands folded under her chin.
I mean it isn't a lie, he did miss her, "Maybe, but theres something I have to tell you."
She looked like she was taken aback, and recomposed herself, "Uh okay what do you want to tell me?" She said. Steve made a gester of 'Follow me' with his hand, and they went into the woods
"Okay so-" Then suddenly Alex shouts.
"Get down!" As she pushes him to the side and land hard on his back. Ow…
He heard a teleporting sound, oh no-
He sat up rubbing his back, as he looked at the scene before him. Alex trying to swing her sword at them, with Ender dodging and Phil running around trying to get away.
"Ah! Crazy lady on the loose!" Phil shouted.
Alex apparently couldn't hear over the enders shrieking to notice the skeleton had spoken, and then ender teleported behind her and picked her up to where she couldn't hit them.
"Let me go you nightmare!" She said still swinging her sword around.
Steve got up and tried to reason, "Hey! There not here to fight you! There harmless!"
Mostly…
"Steve, have you gone insane?! Endermen and Skeletons are not a good mix! There dangerous! Thye might eat us." Alex exclaimed, stil trying to swing her sword at the enderman, but was a goot length away with his long arms.
"Oh please a Zombie wouldn't even want to eat you..' Phil said. Steven looked at Alex to find her taken aback, with her mouth open and her eyes big.
"Did that…Did that just …Did that skeleton just talk?.." She said breathlessly, as she stared at the skeleton.
"Yes, Don't ask how because I don't know either."
He wasn't sure how she would take this, but he must try, even if he didn't want it this way.
"Um, if you promise not to attack them, Ender will let you go." Steve said, and Alex nodded still in shock. He couldn't blame her.
Steve motioned for Ender to put her down, and he did. With Alex eyeing the Enderman and Skeleton as she walked away from them and beside Steve.
She eyed them a moment longer making sure they won't do anything and the looked at Steve.
"You better explain whats going on," She then lifted her sword to him. "Or I swear I'll-"
"Okay, Okay, I'll explain. Just…your going to want to sit down for this one…"
