Tawny walked out of the library and into Harry.

"Oh, Hello Harry, I didn't see you there," she said apologetically and she looked up into his stunningly green eyes. Harry smiled and replied, "That's alright Tawn, where are you headed?"

"To the common room," said Tawny. It seemed that every time she saw Harry her secret love deepened for him. She could close her eyes and perfectly view his always-mussed jet-black hair and his striking green eyes, looking into hers. But she knew he'd never feel the same. He was the famous Harry Potter and she was just Tawny Mathis, average Gryffindor, pureblooded, chin length wavy chestnut brown hair, honey eyes and just an inch shorter than Harry. Harry was always just that inch out of her reach.

"Cool, mind if I join you?" Harry replied. Me, she thought, mind you joining?

"Sure, go right ahead," Tawny said. As they walked together, they talked, as friends would, about classes and Quidditch and how much they hated Filch, but Tawny's mind was somewhere else. She couldn't help but be disappointed that even though they were great friends, that's all she and Harry would ever be. The conversation had come to a halt and Tawny sighed reluctantly to herself.

"Something wrong Tawny?" Harry asked.

"No. nothing." Tawny replied halfheartedly. Yeah, she thought to herself, nothing would be wrong if you weren't perfect.

"You sure? You know I'll always be here for you to talk to," Harry told her, sounding somewhat worried. Tawny smiled and replied, "Yeah, everything's alright. I'm just a little tired I guess." Which wasn't completely a lie, she did only get 3 hours of sleep the night before, but that's just because of the same self-struggle with her crush on Harry.

"That's good. Well, I have to be off, I promised I'd help Ron with his D.A.D.A. homework," Harry said with a smile. "I'll see you at dinner then Tawny."

"Yep, that you will," Tawny replied. 'And thankfully I'll see you there too' she thought.
