Being a reporter, it's important to keep yourself in the know about what is going on. When you get a tip, you try to follow it to find a good story. That's what Monica is doing. Now that she knows what's going on with the D-EL8 virus and Librium, she needs to figure this out.
"How's things going with that story of yours, Monica?" Jamesith asked.
"Slowly, but I'm getting somewhere." Monica said. "It's important that people know about this virus and be weary of anything happens. I don't know where that virus is being held, but at least it's safe and locked away. The trick will be convincing the people about that without causing a panic."
"If this story is actually true, it's going to be a riot out there." Jamesith said. "I just hope that meddlesome Spider-Man stays out of it and doesn't make things worse."
"Honestly, I would be more concerned with Sable International. I'm not exactly sure they can be trusted." Monica said as she was thinking the same way as Paul about them.
"Well, keep up the good work." Jamesith said and let her get back to work. While Monica was working on her little story, she saw a message on her phone and saw that it was from Paul. Seeing that, she knew where to go as she turned off her computer and left her desk. Up on the roof, Spider-Man was hanging about with him talking to his teammates over their communication link.
"You guys find anything?" Paul said.
"Nothing. We checked over all the fake addresses that the virus is suppose to be held, but nothing." Lindsay said. "Librium never showed up at any of them."
"Some men from Sable International were there, and they weren't exactly happy to see us." Thomas said. "Anyway, there's still no sign of Librium. What are they waiting for?"
"I don't know, and that's why we need to keep our guard up." Paul said. Librium seems to be taking their time in getting that virus. If that's what they're after, why aren't they making any attempt to get a hold of it? That was when Paul heard the door to the roof open and saw Monica coming out. "I gotta go." He said and ended the call.
"You do know that if my boss catches you here, he's going to give you quite a shoutout, and not in the good way." Monica said.
"Maybe, but it's always fun seeing his reactions." Paul said as he jumped over and landed near her. "I was hoping you might have something."
"Nope. Nothing on Librium or this virus." Monica said. "I tried talking to a few guys from Sable International, but they're not in the mood to talk to anyone of the media...or the public... By that, I mean they threaten to shoot or arrest us if we don't leave them alone."
"Figures." Paul said as he knew Sabastian and his men being around here would cause more harm than good.
"Yeah. These guys are all work, no play, or no nonsense. Seems like they could learn to lighten up or something." Monica said. "You're good with Christoph. Can't he tell you anything?"
"Even if he could, I don't think Sabastian is going to let him." Paul said. "Sabella has one hell of a brother. None of the addresses we do have were hit either. We're practically going in blind. We have no idea who is really behind this, how they know all of this, or what they have planned for any of it." Paul was getting frustrated about all of this. With no intel or information, they can't do anything to prevent this virus from getting out or falling in the wrong hands. Monica could see he was getting frustrated and that was not something she liked seeing.
"Hey, I haven't had lunch yet." Monica said. "How about I get out of here, you get changed, and you and I can go get something to eat? You do seem like you need something to calm you down."
"That... That actually sounds nice." Paul said as he liked the sound of that.
...
A Restaurant
The two of them went down to have lunch together at their favorite Italian restaurant. It was just the two of them, alone, eating together. Could this be nothing or could it actually be something?
"I swear, there's no better Italian restaurant than here." Monica said. "The garlic bread and such is amazing."
"You don't have to remind me." Paul said. "Back when we were dating, we both loved coming here."
"Broken up or not, it's great that we came here." Monica said as they both loved being in this place. "You know, that's what makes things great between us. It doesn't matter if we're not together anymore; we still have great times. We still managed to become great friends."
"I know. It's always great having you around." Paul said. "Still, we might want to watch what we say. You know how people like to gossip." The two of them still had a great time and shared a laugh.
"It's kind of funny and weird at the same time." Monica said as she took a moment to reminisce. "Think of how much has changed in the past ten years, how much has changed in just the past few years. Some of it is good, but it also feels sudden."
"What do you mean?" Paul asked.
"Let's go back to high school, some of the people we know." Monica said. "Thomas, for example, was an arrogant jock that loved to bully you, but you and he are like best friends now. Ray was like that too, but now he's a great cop that you work with."
"Of course, not all changes were good. Take Jean for example." Paul said.
"Yeah... She was crazy about you since high school. She was once a spoiled cheerleader, but you got her to come out and became a scientific genius." Monica said. "Then, just a few years ago, you two dated. That didn't turn out well and now she's ghosting you."
"Don't remind me on that." Paul said as he wasn't all that pleased about that.
"I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's amazing how much things have changed, but it sort of feels like some things changed suddenly." Monica said. "Take you and me for example, it doesn't feel like it's been that long since we broke up, but that was years ago."
"Maybe it only feels that way because we were together for like seven or eight years, and we broke up only two or three years ago." Paul said.
"Maybe you're right. That's probably all it is." Monica said as she just laughed it off. "Besides, what does it matter now. You're with Sabella and you're pretty serious about her."
"You got that right." Paul said as he was just laughing the whole thing off myself.
"Aw! Paul and Monica, my favorite couple!" They both looked and saw the manager of the place coming. "It's been so long since you two have been here! Are you two back together?! You two were always my favorite." He asked, but they both were denying the whole thing.
"No. This is just a friendly visit, and he has another girlfriend." Monica pointed out.
"Oh... Pardon me." The manager said as the whole thing just got awkward and he just walked away. Monica and Paul thought it was a little awkward, but they both just laughed at that as well.
"That was a little embarrassing." Monica said.
"For him." Paul laughed.
"This is what I'm talking about. We both still have great times together. It seems like we both moved on, but still managed to be a part of each other's lives. Not a lot of people can do that." Monica said and Paul certainly agreed to that. If only they both knew the truth of the situation, and this interaction today might have stirred something that was thought to be erased.
...
Later
Later that night, Paul returned back to Sabella's penthouse. It seemed like it was a quiet day, but that means Librium is still out there. Nothing really more Paul could do. He finished drying himself off after taking a relaxing shower. It seemed like an ordinary and not so special day. So, someone decided to take the time for someone else. As Paul finished cleaning up his face over the sink, he felt someone wrap their arms around him, felt something large and soft press against his back, and felt lips against his neck.
"Need something?" Paul said.
"I came to see if you're doing okay." Sabella said. "Still no sign of Librium?"
"No." Paul said.
"And I take it my brother and his men did not make it easy on you either." Sabella said. "It must be frustrating."
"It sort of is." Paul said. "I hate not being able to sit around and not do anything while guys like that are out there."
"Librium is roaming free, you can't find that virus, and it seems like there is really nothing you can do about it." Sabella said. "You must be pretty angry, annoyed, frustrated, and much more."
"Are you asking because you're concerned or do you have something else up your sleeve?" Paul said as he turned around and saw she was only in a towel.
"I'm just trying to get some raw emotion out of you. I was going to join you in the shower, but you're already done." Sabella said as it was clear what she wanted. "I thought maybe you were frustrated and maybe you like to let it all out." She playfully claimed as she gently kissed him.
"If you're trying to get me excited...you're trying to hard." Paul said with a smirk. "You alone is all the excitement I need." He claimed as he grabbed her and pinned her to the wall with them ripping each other's towels off. Then, they kissed each other with such heat and passion. Her fingers combing through his hair, his hands sliding against her body, and their tongues dancing against each other. Sabella pushed off from the wall and the two of them got moving. They hardly separated, bashed against the walls and such until they finally reached the bed.
"Sit." Sabella said as she pushed him down to have him sit right on the bed. Once he sat right on the edge, she dived down and placed herself right between his legs and helped herself to what's down there. She went at it with such passion, her arms placed against his legs until they slid around his waist.
"Oh! Oh god!" Paul moaned as he could feel all that passion with him sliding his hands through her hair and keeping her head in place. Paul could barely take it that he fell back and laid against the bed, taking deep breaths. The warmth of her lips was so much for him to handle until he couldn't hold back the pressure. "Oh go...! Aw!" He called as he released it all, and Sabella didn't complain. She just climbed up and sat on top of him, licking her lips, and stared down at him with a smile, like her eyes saying she deeply desired him. Paul shot straight up and they kissed again with all that passion, tangling themselves against each other. Paul took the initiative and threw her down on the bed. When he did that, he climbed over her and went at her. His lips placed against one breast, one hand massaging against the other, and his free hand moving between her legs.
"Aw... Argh... Aww! Aww!" Sabella moaned and screamed. The feelings of his lips, his tongue, and his hands against her was such a pleasurable feeling. His fingers were being invasive, but she loved it. Sabella wrapped her arm around his head to keep him there. The way he moved parts of his body felt perfectly, his body against hers felt perfect and she didn't want to let go. Even with how he was moving himself, Sabella loved it and it felt like how she wanted. "Yes... Yes... Yes!" She cheered as he was doing what he was doing right between her legs until she finally couldn't hold back anymore the tension anymore. As she released, her body relaxed and freed Paul with him climbing up to stare in her eyes.
"Finished already?" Paul teased. Those little words from Paul instantly reenergized Sabella. She wrapped herself around him and had them turn over so she could sit on top of him anymore. Not wanting to wait anymore, she physically connected herself with him and pushed her lower body against him. Paul helped out as he pushed against her with such force. It caused parts of her to bounce, and Paul certainly enjoyed seeing that. Rubbing their hands against each other, the passion they had towards each other never faded away. Everything between them just felt perfect. Paul couldn't take it anymore as he had them turn back around as he was on top. Sabella got her arms around him and scratched against his back.
"Oh god, Paul! Paul!" Sabella screamed that the feelings couldn't be held back. Paul continued to push against her until she finally couldn't hold it back anymore. She released first with Paul feeling something warm and moist splash against his lower regions. Sabella screaming with relief. Paul kept going for a couple more minutes until he finally released with him raising his upper body. Just then, something strange happened. An image of him and Monica appeared before him and for a second. It was quick like a flash, and he thought he was with her.
"Mo...awww!" Paul came close to calling out Monica's name, but he realized that and quickly changed it into a moan. Sabella didn't even seem to notice. After all that tension and passion was finally released, Paul collapsed on top of Sabella. Both of them breathed pretty hard, but Sabella never let him go as she kept him close.
"I love you." Sabella said as she kissed the side of his face again and again, kept repeating she loved him. Paul wanted to say it back, but he was thinking of something else. Why did he think he was with Monica like that? He loves Sabella, but he felt like he was with Monica just for a second. What does this mean?
