Chapter 10 The baby is coming

Info: Nora, Miguel, Yolonda, Daisy (Linnie's sister) and Linnie belong to MilkyWayGalaxy4567, including the Anti-'s of them. I did ask for permission and they said yes. Oh and a slight warning: There WILL be a mention of child abuse and spousal abuse in this chapter. I'm very sorry for bringing it up but I had this idea for a while. Please read carefully and if it's too much jump over it.

It was still the same evening when Miguel told the others about the pregnancy. Just after the discussion, and as Miguel and Yolonda were heading to bed, Linnie didn't fly back to his home.

He knew of something and he had to test it out immediately. As fast as his wings could carry him, Linnie flew to Fairy world hospital where he knew Miguel wanted to give birth.

He entered it, flew to the top part of the hospital where the birthing rooms were and entered one empty room.

Linnie sighed as he floated there and looked at the pregnancy birthing table or whatever.

"Ok Linnie, focus. You will need a lot of magic once the birth has happened." Linnie sighed.

He stretched his hands out, his wand pointed to the outside window and he mumbled a spell under his breath, his wand glowed and in a flash, the entire hospital was surrounded by a ginormous shield.

Linnie opened his eyes and saw the shield was a light green, picking up a chair, Linnie flew to one of the windows and threw the chair as hard as he could against it.

"AH!" Linnie screamed shocked.

He had to duck as the chair flung right back at him and hit the wall at the other end of the room. Linnie fixed his mistake but he also grinned. Knowing what was going to happen once Miguel gives birth Linnie wanted to make sure he can protect his new family from... what was expected to come shortly after the birth.

Satisfied that his plan will work, Linnie removed this entire blockage of a spell from the hospital and flew back home. Very happy that it worked.

A few days later, Linnie had a surprise visit from his ex-wife. He had just returned from a jog around Fairy world, as Nora was waiting at his door, looking at her ex-husband.

"Nora," Linnie said, trying to remain calm. "This... is a surprise. Come in."

"Linnie," Nora said to her ex-husband nodding, "I think we got a few things to discuss."

Nora and Linnie entered his apartment and Linnie headed into the kitchen. Nora floated to his living room and her nose scrunched up at Linnie's 'odd' choice of colours around the house.

"So you're doing well I see." She snapped.

Linnie sighed, "Please take a cup and a seat, dear."

Nora did as her ex asked and the two sat on two separate chairs in the living room. Linnie tilted his head a bit and then knew there was something else.

"So... I'm sure you know I'm going to file for a divorce from you. The terror and pains you've put me threw and almost had me killed via Cosmo's power is something I won't stand for, dear," Linnie said, far colder than before.

Nora shrugged her shoulders, "Alright. But I then want the engagement rings and wedding bands returned to me. If you don't love me anymore."

"Fair enough." Linnie shrugged.

He removed his wedding and engagement ring, placed them into one ring box with two slits and handed them back to Nora. She removed her wedding ring too and placed it in a second box, placing them both deep in her coat pocket.

Both ex-husband and ex-wife continued drinking their teas as Nora faced her husband once more.

Nora coughed to make sure Linnie will listen to her, "Linnie there is another thing. I still do not understand why you'd want this baby. All our other kids have grown up already, you should enjoy now living in complete freedom with no responsibilities tying you down all the time. And you know from our three kids that they had taken a lot of your free time away dear."

"I know that dear." Linnie sighed, rolling his eyes, "But killing YOUR son or daughter just because you've decided to sleep with Mr Fairywrinkle is something I can't stand for, dear. Even if I'm not the biological parent of this kid, you are still the biological mother of the baby. And I can't in my good soul go and watch as that innocent baby gets killed."

Nora glared at Linnie, she could tell something else was on that Linnie wasn't telling her.

"I don't- ok yes I believe everything you told me, Linnie. But I have a different theory. You want to keep that 'thing' alive just so you can claim parental benefits from me. Since I am the 'mother' of that thing. Is that it?" Nora snapped.

Linnie rolled his eyes, "Nora, no it's not. I won't ask a penny from either you or Miguel at all. I know you both have a lot higher incomes than I do with my babysitting jobs, but I would never try and use this child to claim more benefits from either of you. I just want for once a baby to have a right to live."

Nora stared shocked at Linnie, Linnie cursed that he let that little thing slip from his lips, but Nora now knew.

"From whom?" She just asked, glaring at Linnie, "Who was the First Fairy you've slept with? Linnie. Was she your first wife? Or ex-girlfriend? Are you both still in contact together?"

Linnie trembled, he had to build the lie up even higher now, knowing Nora could just as well kill him on the spot. Luckily Linnie was saved via his mobile phone suddenly ringing on his side table.

Linnie quickly picked it up, "Hello?"

"Linnie? Is Nora with you?" Yolanda's voice boomed threw the phone.

"Yes, we both are here. What's wrong?" Linnie inquired, scared.

"Miguel's waters have broken, we are on the way to the hospital now. Please come as well. Miguel will need your help." Yolanda called out, "Dear please just breathe."

"IT HURTS!" Miguel screamed next to her. "IF LINNIE ISN'T AT THE HOSPITAL IN TWO MINUTES I'M GOING TO KILL HIM! GAH!"

"Please just get to the hospital immediately. He will need your help. Also, call your lawyer to come too, so we can sort this business out right after the baby is born.- dear please just breathe." Yolanda said.

"GAH!" Miguel continued screaming.

Linnie's eyes widened, "The baby is coming now? Ok I'll be there right away. Thank you for telling me."

"HURRY UP!" Miguel screamed on the other end.

Linnie hung the phone up and glared at his wife, "We will sort this business out later Nora. Your son or daughter is right now on its way and I won't stand back and watch your boyfriend suffer with pain. Got it?"

"Yes yes, just take my hand for one last time. You're in no state to perform any magic dear." Nora sighed.

Linnie blinked, Nora grabbed her ex-husband's hand and the two summoned themselves to Fairy World Hospital.

They arrived just as Yolanda's car pulled up, Linnie waved his wand and a wheelchair came to them, Miguel forced himself into it as he continued screaming. Yolanda grabbed the bars of the chair and rolled her husband into the emergency wing.

"Hello, Miguel Fairywrinkle's contractions have just started. Which way to the birthing room?" Yolanda asked.

The doctor looked up, "Oh of course. Fill this form out. Mr Fairywrinkle I'll take it from here. Is there any male relative we can ring up to help with the birth?"

Nora snickered a bit, "Male relative?"

The doctor glared, "We have strict policies in the hospital that the male pregnant Fairy is only allowed to be helped by another male relative, so?"

"Linnie you go with him," Yolanda instructed. "Me and Nora will wait in the room next door for the delivery of the baby."

"But-" Linnie said worried, looking at Miguel.

Miguel just grabbed his hand and screamed more, "JUST GET THIS THING OUT OF ME NOW! GAH!"

Linnie had no choice but to go with Miguel, Miguel continued screaming as the two men left together the room and headed to the birthing room.

As they arrived, Miguel was handed a long light blue nightgown and long socks to wear, Linnie summoned his shield spell over the hospital again to protect Fairy world from Miguel's massive poof of the birth of his baby, then he floated worried in the birthing room with him as Miguel had to sit in a birthing chair with his feet up.

A short while later, Dr Rip Studwell arrived.

"And here I thought I can play a nice round of nine holes without anyone disturbing me." Dr Rip Studwell sighed looking at the two.

"IF YOU ABANDONED US NOW I SWEAR I'LL RAM YOUR RUBBISH IN YOUR MOUTH DR RIP!" Miguel screamed at him, almost lunging at the doctor.

"Miguel, calm down," Linnie said, worried.

He had to almost pull Miguel off Dr Rip Studwell, the doctor shook his head and checked Miguel's condition over.

"Ah yes, you are at a nice five cm. I can already feel your little being on its head. Ok ok, I know what we have to do here. Linnie, hold Miguel's hand, Mr Fairywrinkle, once the next contraction hits push against it as hard as you can. The baby should be here any moment now." Dr Rip Studwell instructed.

"GAH!" Miguel continued screaming.

Linnie did as the doctor instructed, quickly turning his hand into a replica of a wooden hand so his bones won't break under Miguel's powerful crushing force of his grip. Miguel screamed, pushed and shivered a lot.

After a while a poof sound was heard, Miguel collapsed back and released Linnie's hand from his tight grip, panting in the bed.

"Linnie grab a pair of scissors and cut the umbilical cord here. The baby is born." Dr Rip Studwell beamed.

Miguel let Linnie's hand go as he lay back, panting in pain. Dr Rip Studwell wrapped the baby in a pink cloth and beamed as Linnie cut the umbilical cord.

"It's a girl." Linnie beamed, staring at Miguel, happy.

Dr Rip wanted to hand the baby over to Miguel, but he stared at the baby shocked and with disgust on his face, Miguel lifted his hands as if to shield himself from the baby.

"No." Miguel quickly said, pointing at Linnie, "Hand the baby to Linnie. I want nothing to do with that thing."

"B... but Miguel, it's your daughter. Your little girl." Linnie said surprised and slightly hurt.

"We've got an agreement adoption form we both have signed months ago Linnie. You are the adoptive father of that baby and you can hold her. I want nothing to do with her until she reaches the maturity of 210 years old. Then, if she still wants to know who I am, you may tell her." Miguel suddenly snapped. "But until then don't let her know."

Linnie sighed, he sat back in a chair in the room and looked really hurt, the small baby safely in his arms cooing at the Fairy happy. Suddenly a knock brought the three men back.

"Miguel, is it done, can we see her or him?" Yolanda called into the room.

"Come in dear," Miguel called threw.

Dr Rip Studwell removed the shield and Yolanda came in, dragging a complaining Nora by her long hair into the room to look at her 'baby'.

"I said I don't wanna see it!" Nora continued complaining.

"Nora for once grow up." Yolanda snapped at her 'rival', "The baby is still yours via blood, so please just look at her or him."

Yolanda and Nora faced the bed where Miguel was still lying in it, wait, where was the baby?

"Miguel, where is it now?" Yolanda asked, worried.

"Don't worry dear," Miguel sighed, leaning back into the bed, "The father is holding her. Linnie. He's sitting in the chair there."

Miguel nodded to the other end of the room. Yolanda and Nora turned around and Linnie was sitting in the chair, holding the small bundle with the baby wiggling inside the sheet.

Linnie got up and showed Nora and Yolanda the baby. His tears were still clouding his vision out of happiness.

Linnie breathed in calmly as if he'd just suffered the birth, but he hasn't, he was just overcome with pure happiness.

"It's a girl." Linnie beamed.

Nora pulled a face in disgust and Yolanda smiled a bit at the beautiful baby.

Nora and Miguel's 'daughter' opened her eyes and they were a striking pink, like Miguel's eyes. Her hair, despite being so little, was teal-coloured hair colour and already curling up on her head.

"ga ga go go." The little baby beamed.

Linnie quickly checked that he still had his protective bracelet on, he waved his wand and the other four adults all had one on as well. The baby looked around, a little startled at the sudden magic poofing around the room.

"Gigi gag gag." The baby giggled, noticing Linnie's odd glasses.

"So," Nora asked, catching the attention of the others.

Linnie chuckled a bit as the baby snatched his glasses away and was starting to use them as a chew toy, Linnie waved his wand and summoned a chew toy for baby's into his hands from his home, switched the glasses and chew toy over and cleaned his glasses before placing them back onto his face.

"You've now got a daughter, but what is her name?" Nora inquired.

Yolanda nodded her head, "True, you both had a discussion about it together. But I don't think you've said anything to us about what the baby is called."

Linnie still smiled and sat down in a different chair, he nodded to Miguel, "Let's tell them together."

"Ok." Miguel smiled.

"Her name is, Helen Laurel Cosma." Linnie and Miguel said at the same time.

Whiles saying it, Linnie had tapped his finger slightly against the baby's forehead, basically baptising it with her name. The baby smiled, Nora frowned and thought over the name and Yolanda blinked.

"Helen Laurel Cosma?" She inquired, "I know Cosma for Linnie's adoption of the baby, but why Helen Laurel?"

Miguel smiled, "Linnie had asked me to give it a middle name, I chose the name Laurel because green is dominant over pink in the re-production and I wanted her to carry something with green meaning. So Laurel for the green laurel leaves victories people would wear on their heads during a celebration of them winning a race."

Linnie nodded his head, "And I'm sure you know the Greek story of: Helen of Troy? Well, seeing as that story has a love triangle in it, I decided to give the girl the name Helen after the female lead of the story."

"Great, you will always call the baby after a reminder of what happened for her to exist?" Nora asked still annoyed.

"Yes, Nora. Indeed." Linnie frowned. "Plus the name sounds nice."

"Just let him," Miguel complained again, "Linnie knows what he's doing."

After the last paperwork was completed and signed and Linnie finished taking the tenth photo of the baby girl, beaming over his face, Yolanda invited everyone out for dinner to celebrate the birth of Helen.

Linnie carried his newborn daughter in a baby carrier over his chest and the others walked with him to the restaurant, still smiling and being as happy as can be.

Yolanda held Miguel's hand and Miguel had to walk with a walking stick next to his wife, still feeling a bit stiff and achy after such a birth. But not nearly as painful as his birth with his twin daughters Blonda and Wanda.

Nora frowned and, despite wanting to poof away back home, Yolanda had placed an anti-poof ban on Nora, dragging her with them behind them to let her have dinner with them all.

"You will have once in a while dinner with the 'family' and Nora please just cope for one evening. And NO alcohol the both of you!" Yolanda warned.

Nora and Miguel both agreed, the four entered the restaurant pointy crown and sat together at a 4 seater table. Helen received a baby chair at the same table sitting between Linnie and Nora.

They were handed the menu and everyone scanned over the meals. Miguel felt this a bit like a Deja Vu or whatever because a 'dinner' reservation was what kick-started this whole pregnancy fiasco.

They each had a lovely evening, Miguel had to leave into the men's bathroom once to withdraw the developing milk from his chest and came back a while later, handing to Linnie the bottle to feed Helen her first milk round. Everyone in Fairy world knows that the father's milk for their newborn daughter is the best food for them, and even strengthens the baby's immunity and has lots of important vitamins also in the baby's first few weeks of living.

As everyone finished the last meal, drinks, and dessert and paid the bill, Miguel didn't want them to go just yet. He knew he had to know something from Linnie.

"Linnie, there is something I still don't understand with you," Miguel said: "You've fought hard for the right to adopt mine and Nora's baby. But why do you have such a massive love for children and babies? You're not the youngest Fairy ever and could live in freedom, but instead, you've wanted to adopt Helen from us. Why?"

Linnie sighed, luckily Helen had fallen fast asleep and Linnie tucked her into her new pram and faced the three other adults, he nodded his head.

"You're very right," Linnie sighed, "I do have my reasons for loving babies and children so much and why I HATE abortions."

(Warning: Mention of abuse coming up.)

"It was over a millennia ago, even before I met you, Nora... I used to be in a relationship with a Miss Summer. She was very kind, helpful, and intelligent and used to work as a repair woman in Fairy world repairing wands. We both had stable jobs and lived quite a quiet life together. I believed she did love me... but I was wrong." Linnie sighed, wiping a tear, "After one of our, 'romantic times together', I found out I was pregnant with our 'first child'. Me and Summer haven't actually discussed wanting a family just yet, but I was already very excited to tell her and ready to be a father."

Yolanda blinked, "Wait a sec.- Darren Schnozmor Cosma wasn't your first child?"

Linnie shook his head, "Darren is mine and Nora's firstborn son. But he wasn't my first pregnancy."

"Anyhow," Linnie continued, "I revealed to Summer that I was pregnant with a positive pregnancy test, and also asked her if she'd wanna marry me so our son or daughter may be born legitimately. However, Summer didn't react well to the news."

Linnie breath calmly to continue, feeling sad all over again, "She suddenly revealed her true colours to me. My ex had screamed at me and demanded that I'd abort the baby instantly. She didn't want to be a mother just yet and if I'd dare keep the child I'd regret it forever. And unfortunately, I did. I told her no and pleaded with her to just feel the baby's kicks, maybe she'd get to love it too. But nope. My ex-girlfriend summoned a pair of brass knuckles in her fists and started beating down on me, shouting, punching and kicking. I almost bled out but she kicked especially hard in my stomach where she knew the baby was lying. I had no choice but to activate the emergency help button and the police arrived a short while later. Since Summer didn't stop kicking me as they arrived, I was forced to watch Summer being shot to death by them. I screamed and screamed shocked, but my ex was deceased. Dr Rip Studwell had arrived too and checked up on me. But it was too late. The baby had bled out inside of me and I had to have an abortion and go for many years to counselling before I could even trust another Fairy. After I had the operation, the baby was cremated and I buried it and Summer together in a grave, crying for many years to come. I also went to the hospital again to check if I still could have a baby again, even after losing my very first pregnancy, but they told me that was thank god no problem. I could have more children. So that was a small relief."

(mention of abuse over)

"That's why, as I've heard you Miguel and Nora having a baby together and you'd wanted to 'harm it'," Linnie continued looking at Miguel, "It all just came back up for me again. Which is why I fought long and hard with you. Why I desperately wanted to adopt your baby to not see it harmed by you or Nora. Which is why I grew to love it so much. Having a tiny being ripped from you is the most painful experience a male Fairy could ever have. And to just wanna abort the baby because you had a one-night stand I didn't find it a right reason to harm the poor dear. Which is why I was willing to save at least her life."

Nora, Miguel and Yolanda were all stunned shocked, Helen was thank god fast asleep already, but the three other Fairies all understood the reasoning for Linnie's strong devotion towards children.

Nora still sat as a frozen statue, not one flash of emotion came over her face now that she knew her ex-husband's reasoning for loving children so much. Miguel was shaking a bit shocked, sure he thought Linnie was a bit strange for wanting to adopt his baby when it came from a one-night stand but to hear his true reasonings for it was even more surprising. Yolanda whipped her tears falling from her face, to know this friendly Fairy went threw hell and back again was a lot to swallow and process.

"So you've developed feelings for the baby instantly, to protect and save it." Miguel concluded, looking at his friend surprised, "You'd just wanna protect every child you can."

Linnie nodded his head, "Correct. I don't mind how she or he was created, as long as they are allowed to live."

"Does..." Nora began, forcing everyone to look over at her, "Does your sister Daisy know this tale too?"

Linnie nodded his head, "Yes. I was lying for a long time in the hospital and she had to check up on me all the time. My father did too. And she was with me as I had the first baby buried. She provided a place for me and supported me until I was able to move out again and lead my own life. And even now we still help one another should one of us be in need. And a few years later we both met Nora and, well you know the rest of the story."

Nora nodded her head, she sure does.

"Yawn." suddenly a quiet voice spoke up, shaking everyone.

The four adults all looked over to Linnie who was still holding Helen. He smiled a bit and hummed a quiet lullaby under his breath, before looking to everyone.

"If it's ok. I think I need to put a little someone into bed. It's already very late for her." Linnie whispered a bit.

Miguel, Yolanda, and Nora nodded their heads, they quietly bid Linnie goodbye and Linnie smiled and thanked Miguel once more before summoning himself back home with his daughter.

Linnie arrived back at his home. He still held Helen against his heart, opened his home up and quietly flew in the dead of dark upstairs to her children's bedroom.

Carefully, Linnie lay her on her new changing table, he changed her finally out of the hospital gown, cleaned her smelly backside, put on a fresh pair of diapers after powdering her behind a bit and then tucked Helen into a cute light yellow onesie.

He then lifted his daughter up again, flew to the baby crib and carefully lay his sleeping dear inside.

As soon as Helen was lying in her new bed, she smiled up at him and then looked heartbroken.

"Am... um... waaaaaahhhh..." Helen started crying.

Linnie jumped out of his skin, "Helen, oh dear. I'm so sorry my darling. What's wrong? You just had your dinner?"

Baby Helen wiggled and cried in the crib quite hard, almost turning red. Linnie took his hands and carefully placed them over the baby's stomach, rubbing small circles around it.

"Hush my dear, please don't cry. Daddy will protect you from the sky," Linnie quietly sang.

Helen heard the soft sound of Linnie's voice, she quite liked it and calmed down again. Looking at Linnie and smiling a great deal.

"Gagagagaga." She chuckled, feeling Linnie's love from just being so close.

Linnie chuckled, he sang a few more songs, placed a baby's binky into Helen's mouth and then watched her finally close her eyes. Helen sucked the dummy quite a bit and then fell finally fast asleep.

Linnie sighed, he smiled before dimming the light. He made sure the children's walkie-talkie was turned on and just next to the crib in case he'd need to feed her or change her diaper should Helen wake up.

Linnie flew downstairs and sat on his couch, he quietly turned on the Telly to watch a few movie marathons before going to bed. But something inside of Linnie was nagging at him.

Suddenly Linnie froze over, he knew exactly what. As quietly and quickly as Linnie could he turned off the TV and flew to his mobile phone.

He tried to breathe calmly as he dialled in speed dial the number he saved.

"Good evening." A male voice rang threw his mobile phone.

Linnie swallowed hard and almost shivered. He felt like he was betraying everyone and anyone with this 'plan'.

"Anti-Linnie?" Linnie asked shaking, "It's me. My daughter has been born, she is well and I've now adopted her... sorry I should have checked if everything worked out on your end or not."

"Ah, Linnie. Hello dear," Anti-Linnie giggled, "Calm down. Anti-Miguel and Anti-Nora did it too, and yes Anti-Helen is also born. I was able to contain the massive amount of bad luck from her birth together so you'd not jump out of your skin again."

Linnie sighed, "Sorry and thank you. And yes Anti-Linnie... I've finally told the others the truth. They know about my upsetting past now."

"'sigh.' Linnie, it's not just you've suffered under the hands of that Wicked Witch of the West." Anti-Linnie sighed, "But the fact that you never let go of the past. What has happened has happened and you shouldn't try to change it. Focus on being the best father you can for Helen."

"I am Anti-Linnie, I am." Linnie reassured him, "And thanks."

"It's ok Linnie. Have a good day and we'll see you on Friday the 13th." Anti-Linnie chuckled.

Linnie chuckled a bit. He hung up the phone and smiled, loving the fact he knew Anti-Helen was now born too and the balance in the world was restored once more.

Quanktumspirit: "I know a bit odd ending. But I've done everything I can think of for this tale. Thank you everyone for reading and commenting on it. And a huge thank you again to MilkyWayGalaxy4567 for allowing me to use her/his characters. Please comment."
