Just wanted to give you all an update since I didn't say anything in the last chapter.

Arc 2 I've got a solid summary In the works and this is were the paths REALLY start to diverge from canon especially Roswall for obvious reasons. I've seen alot of people concerned about Subarus role in the overall story and while I've already gave my 2 cents on him being forced into a support role, this Subaru WILL NOT be overpowered by any means till much later in the story. He simply dosen't have enough time to hone his skills In any meaningful way. But trust and believe once he has time to train and starts to take proper steps to becoming stronger he's gonna be an absolute MONSTER!

Now as for Emilia... OH BOY alot of people are not gonna like this version of her for a short while. Just like Subaru she puts others well being before her own except instead of being alone in her suffering like Subaru, she's actively hated against and that can reeeeally mess with someone's world view especially when the one person that's actually nice to you keeps dying over and over again. This will have the benefit of her being a much more competent leader though. While Subaru will keep the camp mentally sound, Emila would be the actual forefront of her candidacy instead of relying on Subarus accolades to have any real chance in the election. Everything that happens will be due to HER WILL not Subarus weither it be good or bad.

As for RETURN BY DEATH... like I said previously the burden is shared, not completely on Emilia or Subaru. What that means for the duo you'll simply have to wait and see. That's kinda what I want the theme of this what-if to be, sharing the burden.

Another thing I feel the need to comment on before there's any confusion. Subarus interactions with the main cast will be... more natural to put it lightly. Subaru having insight to everyone's personality due to return by death, while useful in a crisis, can make him seem rather unnatural and downright untrustworthy. Since the character dynamics will be built around his intinital conversations and no rbd messing with his psyche, the people in the mansion especially Ram and Beatrice will be alot less hostile as his intentions will be alot easier to read. This will work in Emilias favor for alot of reasons that I don't want to spoil yet.

Again I want to thank you all that have commented on this crazy what-if so far. like I said my writing is mediocre at best so I hope you can all give me some insight to better convey the story. I really like those reaction fics so if someone wants to play around with this concept or even do there own twist with it by all means go for it! I'll be doing a QA midway through arc 2 so get all your questions out of the way. I'll answer any that aren't to spoiler heavy.
