We were gods once…once we were hailed as far superior to the mortals below…

Loudly, the crowd cheer, chant, roar outside the temple monument garbed in fine fabrics of robes, the boy stands tall alongside his female counterpart, the two tending to the crowd cheering chanting their name, the boy beams brightly at the offerings, oblivious to the bangs heavily hanging from the woman by his side as said gifts are thrown his way. Hungrily, he relishes the attention as the other smiles strained, simply doing what was necessary following the crowd. Lazily, the boy plops himself down upon the prim plump pillows of the chair sofa, smirking at the women loitering around him, some fanning him, some showing said offerings to him while the men loiter around him, enjoying his company. He takes the gauntlet in his hand swirling the substance within, drowning himself with it as he leans back bathing in the shining sun grinning giddily down at the two supposed demigods.

And yet…

Quietly, the chestnut brown haired man roams through the busy bustling streets of the city, a soft snow-white cloak draped over his form as he goes about his day. Ignorant towards the gelato stand owner staring stunned at the caped man. His glistening gold widen when feeling the gently thud below, a prod, a poke almost as he looks down at the crying child below him making him scowl down at it.

Here we are nothing more than ruined remnants of a time before, walking amongst the humans not even batting an eye to us having no clue what we had done for them…

"Charlie hey leave him alone you creep!" Cross, a girl rushes up helping the boy up as Ingram's yellows soften slightly seeing a brief figment of the past before him of a young girl with glinting gold glaring while a pair of fearful yellow silently watch on from behind, shaking, quivering, quaking clinging to their sister's side bringing a sharp sting of pain to his constricted chest, watching on as the girl kicks Ingram's leg taking him aback as he watches on as the two flee from him while he himself continues on his way…

What we had sacrificed for them, what we had endured for them…

Screaming, the sharp screeches echoes throughout the brick wall where the cries of children bounce off the mossy damps walls where the two children are tied to the table below, shaking, quivering, quaking as her body contorts, his limbs break, the bones break the crisp crunch echoing throughout the room as a woman stands over the two children crying…

"Kids am I right?" Surprised, Ingram jolts up at the voice turning towards the woman smiling shyly up at him. Ingram jolts back flinching from the sheer closeness of the woman's face to his own, the woman has long frizzy brown hair held back by a brown bandana her hazel hues look up into a pair of glaring gold.

"…" Ingram simply stares at the woman not having the energy to being his carefree state, it was fun to play as that character during a fight but right now all Ingram wanted was to be left alone. So he did just that, he brushed past the woman wandering off or so he thought…

"The name's Missy, Missy Hamperson what's yours?" Smiling, the woman chases after him beaming brightly, a glint gleaming in her hues eyeing the taller man before her.

"…" Silently, said boy glares, glowers ahead his hue twitching tiredly, too done with deal with the mortals beneath him.

"Not much of a talker eh? I get that, I'll do most of the talking then, so what brings you to these parts?" Perkily, the girl crosses her arms behind her back beaming brightly looking up at the man peering into his hood.

"…Why do you want to know?" Sternly, he demands from the woman, his tone cold curt, cold.

"And he speaks!" Smiling, she steps back beaming placing her hands up in the air jokingly.

"…" Silently, said male continues on his way too tired to deal with the woman before him however…

"Ah back to the stoic silent treatment okay then? Sorry if my interest is piqued by a ma coming into this dullard of a town in a cool cloak like yours!" Unapologetically, the woman smirks smoothly sauntering over catching up to the man feeling his soft snow cloak crisply ruffle up, soon staining black, feeling the fine feathers beneath the cloak ruffle, rustle, hearing the soft ring of metal softly sliding against one another as he tries to ignore the bloodlust flowing through him, noting his coal cloak shift back to snow-white. He tries to hold in the urge to strike, not wanting to deal with the uproar that would come from the swift slice of said single life.

"…Curiosity killed the cat you know." Sternly, he turns to scowl at her trying to warn her hint at her at the very least but…

"Cats have nine lives you know!" Smirking, she argues much to his annoyance as he swiftly brushes her off, swiftly slamming his eyes shut feeling his teeth grit grind together as he exits out of the town, feeling his body curl in on himself, his ears ring from the furious flutter of wings while he hears the crisp crunch of bone, the pain from such contorts numb to the man adjusted to such shifting states in his body. He staggers forwards flimsily feebly even much to the concern of the woman about to reach out to him having heard his grimaced grunt seeing the snowy cape coiled around him begin to tore, tear as next the woman knew the man had turned into a bird taking off, taking flight…

I am a god…I do not associate myself with lesser mortals, isn't that right…mother? Pained, Ingram closes his eyes at the thought of the woman, her back to him slowly moving her head to glance behind her at him, a long thin skeletal like smile upon her lips as she turns to her baby boy…

Quietly, Ingram stands, staring down at the children below going about their day playing to their heart's content, seeing some children play tag the other kids play hide and seek, some diving behind trees the other leaping into bountiful bushes. His hues narrow at the small coy chuckle escaping the lips of the children playing around the field.

"Oh ho look whose back!" Boisterously, the voice calls out as immediately, Ingram furrows his brow further from the voice alone as he turns his hues widening when seeing some sort of substance in her hand.

"What is this?" Scowling, he eyes the creamy confection offered.

"Yep want some?" Smiling, she asks.

"…You didn't answer my question." Curtly, Ingram huffs, eyeing the desert.

"It's Gelato!" Smiling, she answers.

"It looks likes Ice-cream." Ingram deadpans.

"Well it is only harder I guess?" Unsure, Missy shrugs her shoulders sheepishly.

"So it gets its own name from that?" Tiredly, Ingram probes perplexed by the substance below with the spoon in his hand.

"Well gelato is the Italian name of ice cream. It has more milk and less cream compared to ice cream. Gelato also doesn't usually contain egg yolks the way that ice cream does." Dubiously, she explains to the unamused Ingram, giving said substance a small shy lick similar to a cat almost as he gives the girl a dirty look.

"…You're loud." After a still silence, he answers, telling her straight-faced.

"…You're cute." Cheekily, she winks at him.

"E-Excuse you?" Ingram does a double-take, taken aback at it.

"You're cute." Cutely, she winks stepping forward, pecking his cheek bringing a heavy hue of ruby red to his crimson cheeks.

"And you're annoying just like her…." He huffs turning away his feathers ruffled as steam spews out of him.

"Her? Do I have competition?" Coyly, she leans into her plump palm, quirking her head to the side just as said male freezes from her words.

"Wha…no! Urgh she's my sister!" Strictly, she snaps scowling.

"Oh I bet she's as pretty as you." Smiling, she leans in as she feels his form flinch from it almost.

"She's as stubborn as me." Miserably, he huffs shrugging her off.

"Is that why you're so sad?" Softly, she asks him wrapping her arm around his arm astonishing him.

"…What do you mean?" Meekly, he whispers shuffling slightly towards her.

"You seem sad when I brought her up." Calmly, Missy tells him.

"She's…frustrating." Tiredly, Ingram sighs sadly.

"Frustrating?" Frowning, Missy ponders puzzled.

"She's always done what she wants, never caring about the consequences of her actions or anything of the sort…" Snippily, Ingram grumbles glaring to the side.

"I see…is that why you're not with her now?" Missy gathers.

"That…is one of the many factors…" Frowning, Ingram solemnly sighs glancing to the side sadly at the murky memory resurfacing…

"We shouldn't be doing this…" Tensely, the boy with chestnut hair looks up at the hand over his hoisting him up on the rooftop.

"Would you relax?" Sighing, she furrows her brow annoyed at him.

"Relax how can I relax!?" The boy hisses harshly at the girl rolling her yellow hues at him.

"Come on you want to see the fireworks don't you?" Impatiently, the girl grumbles at the boy as they make it to the rooftops.

"Y-Yeah but mummy said it's dangerous outside." Anxiously, the boy clings to the girl's side as the two take a seat staring down at the people around the bonfire.

"We can't always stay in that basement if we had an attic room like that other family then we wouldn't have a problem." Bitterly, the girl grumbles glaring to the side scowling.

"…I heard that family was caught the other day." Shyly, the boy whispers.

"Not our problem." Simply, she shrugs him off.

"B-But they're getting closer to where we live m-mummy said we should be leaving soon?" Scared, the boy argues anxious.

"Already? Urgh…why can't we just kill these guys? I mean they're only humans they're nothing but ants against us." Arrogantly, the girl grins giddily, a glint gleaming in her hues alarming the boy briefly by the sheer fierce frightening familiarity between both of them.

"M-Mother said it would be best to leave…" Scared, the boy stares shakily down eyeing the men armed and at the ready for anything.

"Mother says a lot of things…" Annoyed, the young girl leans back in her seat scowling only then to gasp at the blaring brightly lights up above.

"It's beautiful…" The young boy whispers in awe at the fierce fireworks oblivious to the guard perking up at the sight of the two…

"Hey you kids!" Surprised, the two jolt up at the boisterous bellow.

"Shoot! Ingram!" Panicked, the girl calls out to her brother having slipped shocked from the outcry as he sharply screams announcing their location as all eyes fall to the fallen child.

"A-Ava!" Scared, Ingram calls out as Ava dives down, wrapping hr arms around her baby brother, swiftly saving him.

"Beasts! Did you see her wings!? A harpy is in our midst!" Maddened, one of the guards bellows boisterously.

"I knew this was a bad idea I knew it I knew it!" Wailing, the young boy whimpers weakly earning an exasperated eyeroll from the girl.

"Just stop talking and run!" Roaring, she snaps sharply scowling at her baby brother.

"Where do you think you're going?" The two soon gasp when finding themselves cornered in an alleyway where they turn to the guard, cornering them.

"N-No let us go please!" Pleadingly, the young boy bellows boisterously.

"Crow, crow raven raven…"

"Beasts hiding in a child's clothing…." One of the men raise their torches.

"Monsters!" Another raises a pitchfork.

"Crow, crow raven raven…"

"Kill em! Kill them!" Another voice adds a woman at that.

"But they're kids!" One of the voices argue but…

"They could become monsters we got to snuff them out! Nip it in the bud!" The man raises the axe to the high heavens.

"Crow, crow raven raven….

"N-No please!" Pleadingly, the girl pulls her brother back, acting as some sort of barrier between the two trying to protect her brother but…

"….Crow crow…raven…raven!" The soft sound of a cold curt chant echoes throughout the city surprising the two twins holding one another as they look up seeing the cloud brush by the woman perched upon the broomstick, softly whispering as the sadistically smirking moon grins giddily behind her as slowly but surely birds sprout out from her back, seeping out of her form as next the town knew a murder of birds had soared high in the sky, flapping its winds as its cruel caws echoed throughout the town, some diving into windows terrifying those wounded, some diving down upon the heads of bystanders, slamming their bloodied beakers into the head or eyes of their victims as crimson currents ooze s out of their sore socket. They scream, shout, screech to the high heavens all over the place, some managing to throw said birds into the fierce flames of the bonfire before blackbirds shoot out of the flames, igniting the homes nearby with their final breath. Smoke spews out into the sky above as the people of the town screamed, screeched to the high heavens, begging beseeching the deity above to stop this wave of madness of chaos as something seemingly snapped within the inhabitants.

"ARGHHHH! " The guards surrounding the two twins scream as the man who held the axe to the two twins had his head ripped off, crimson currents spurt scarlet out of the head rolling over to the two terrified twins staring stunned at it as soon enough the brothers in arms at one another's throat, some slamming their teeth into their brother tearing out their throat while others begin joining the mayhem flowing through the town. The sharp scream of children's cries echo throughout the town, the fair few having tried to flee, having tried to rush towards the guards for aid are swiftly snuffed out by those crazed, killing anything in sight.

"Now look at what you two made me do…running off like that." Softly, the crisp click of heels echo as the two twins turn to the woman before them.

"M-Mother!" Ingram lunges towards his mother, the tears freely falling practically pushing Ava aside as she catches herself, her hands falling flat on her palms before jolting back by the head having rolled over to her.

"M-Mommy I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't…! I didn't…!" Upset, Ingram cries out sobbing his heart out.

"I know my baby bird you would never do something like this." Tentatively, she kneels down holding her baby bird close to her chest cuddling him, hugging him as her gold glare up at a similar shade to her own observing from afar anxiously.

"Look at them…pathetic beings, look at all this damage done, look at what you've done…Avaline." Aloofly, the woman arises from her crouched form holding her baby boy in her hand, hearing his weak whimpers while her narrowed gold glance towards the terrified child, shaking, quivering, quaking from the spotlight shown down upon her.

"…" The girl bows her head trembling from her golden glare on her, slamming her eyes shut preparing for the pain to come as she hears the crisp click of heels only grow louder and louder.

"You must have been so scared." Softly, Morrigan leans down, placing her hand upon Ava's head flinching from the tentative touch. Anxious, Ava's glassy gold gaze around at the poor people, petrified. Some desperate tried to save their loved ones only to be met by the swift slick of a blade. Ava winces when hearing the screaming, shouting, screeching, she holds her hands to her ears only to feel a hand slap away stopping her as she looks up flinching form her mother's glare glued on her.

"Hear the screams you caused…her mother mouths to the anxious Ava forced to watch on as some hold the battered, beaten bruised bodies of those fallen before being swiftly slayed by those consumed by the madness that has engulfed the town as the sharp screeches echo, the heavy stench of iron hanging heavily in the air as the inhabitants of the town tear at each other limb from limb, companions, friends, family, each and every one tearing into each other…

"We'll discuss this later." Ava weakly whimpers brought back to the world of the living by the sharp sting of nails digging deep into her hair. Her glassy gold gaze up into a pair of gold glaring down at her as the family of three leave…

"…You okay?" Gently, Missy places her hand on his shoulder snapping him out of his daunted daze.

"Yeah just…tired." Softly, Ingram leans against her bringing a small smile to her lips.

"Here." Shyly, she passes a familiar desert over to him.

"…" Gently, Ingram's once handed heated glare softens slightly at the desert that he shyly takes with the small spoon on the top of said desert.

"You like it don't you?" Missy grins giddily at him.

"…I'm leaving." Shyly, said boy blushes brightly before standing up turning to leave.

"You liiike it, you liiiiiiiike it, you liiiiiiiii-" Mischievously, Missy teases taunts the furrowed frown of the blushing boy.

"I'm done here." Huffing, the blushing boy grumbles glaring to the side scowling, steam spewing out of his ruffled feathers.

"What? Oh come on, talk to me." Missy whines leaning back in her seat smirking.

"You think I'll just open up to a stranger?" Snippily, Ingram turns to glare at the giddy girl.

"Maybe not but maybe you'll open up to a gelato…" Giddily, Missy mischievously taunts showing off said substances to him.

"…" Quietly, his hues narrow at the desert below before sighing taking a heavy slab of giddy green, his hues widening when tasting the flavours of said substance.

"Give me ten more mint cups and I'll think of it." Ingram swiftly shifts his form back into a bird taking off, fleeing.

"I'll be looking forward to it!" Merrily, Missy beams bright waving the bird off, a heavy hue of ruby red dusting her cheeks grinning from ear to ear bashfully beaming at the fleeing figure of the flustered bird taking off…

*And this ladies and gents is where Ingram got his love of gelato from...so what do you think of Missy? Of that flashback of Ava? What do you think of Morrigan?*
