Panini shrieked into the phone, hearing the words she had longed to hear, as of this moment she and Chowder were officially a couple as a train of thoughts went through her head, what was the better name, Panchow or Chownini, where would they have their first date, what should she wear, what names did he like for their 12 kids. the shriek went on until the door barged open.
"Panini, what is that ruckus" Endive asked, wearing a face mask with her hair coated in some gunk, which Panini stomached as she hung up the phone, before Endive could get ahold of it.
"Telemarketer" she covered, knowing that Endive was not a big fan of chowder, being Mung's apprentice. meaning she had to keep it secret. it was so romantic, like they were Tomeo and Smuliet, a tale of forbidden love, between two feuding parties.
Endive just grumbled, instructing her to keep it down as Endive claimed she needed her beauty sleep, it took a lot of effort as Panini nodded.
"No amount sleep will make 'that' cute" Panini muttered under her breath as the chef turned to Panini, asking what she said as Panini coughed, saying she wished Endive a good night of rest. the mountain of a woman walked off as Panini picked up the phone, no tone.
she decided she might as well get another bath, taking another dip on blurpleberry scented water the pink Cabbit made her way to the bedroom where she stayed, wearing her green nightgown. Panini's bedroom was nicely decorated with fine furniture, a huge puffy bed, and everyone the reeked of class.
the pink Cabbit snugged on her warm covers, reaching over, under her bed she kept her Tresure chest, a collection of Chowder's goodies. a empty box of juice he drank out of a plastic Thrice cream spoon he had thrown away, a spare hat he had lost, a slice of Slawberry cake he gave to her on apprentice appreciation day, even a pair of his underwear she had purchased at a garage sale.
They were all her little treasures, tokens of her love to the chubby purple Cabbit she called Num-Nums, taking a whiff of the box, the scents inside mixing into an aroma that reminded her of Chowder. Panini grabbed her Chowder plushie, looking into the black button eyes, snuggling her plushie.
Panini wanted to sleep as soon as she could. The faster she fell asleep the faster she'd wake up and spend the day with Chowder. Tomorrow was a Sevensday so the catering businesses were usually closed meaning they would have the day to themselves.
"Our First Date, oh what should I wear" Panini pondered, wondering how far they would get, she wasn't expecting them to get to third base on the first date but would not be against it. fantasizing about being wrapped around the warmth that was her cubby boyfriend, hugging him as they shared a kiss in romantic pleasure
"Oh Panini, you don't need to doll up, you look beautiful the way you are" The chowder plushie said through Panini's puppeteering. she hugged the plushie as she thought about planning the day that she would spend with chowder tomorrow.
Maybe a movie at the local theatre, or a romantic dinner at Chez Fancy. a million scenarios played through Panini's head, ironically preventing her from getting any sleep until 2 in the morning. The Cabbit fell asleep, drooling in her pillow as she was out. eventually morning come and with it the sun.
Panini jetted awake, the morning sun, basking over her as she jumped out of bed. Sevensday meant no work and she was going to spend it with her boyfriend. after using the bathroom and getting changed into her day clothes she made her way to the dining room where what was left of Endive's breakfast feast remained. Panini knew she'd have to clean it up, collecting the dirty dishes and making her way to the kitchen, washing the dirty dishing, drying and putting them away.
after her morning chores she had some fried schmeggs, and toast with schmeanut blutter, making it a breakfast sandwich. the Cabbit brought it to her mouth, biting down. it was a small snack; she was saving her appetite for lunch.
after finishing her breakfast and washing her own dishes, just a plate, pan and spatula she found Endive, lounging on a sofa, watching her shows as she was clipping her toenails.
"Miss Endive, I'm going out now" Panini said formally as Endive was struggling with her clippers, paying little attention as she dismissed The Cabbit. the clippers snipped the toenail sending it through the air, bouncing around the room and nearly hitting Panini as she ducked just in time, breathing a sigh of relief.
Panini left the catering company, enjoying the warm sun as she made her way to Mung Daal's catering where Chowder lived, she stopped halfway, thinking about getting thrice cream for the two of them. she decided against it as it would melt, deciding on Clot dogs. Panini bought two dogs from the vender with klustard and bunions, handing the vendor some dollops in exchange for the dogs.
Panini eventually made her way to Mung Daal's Catering knocking on the door, the two dogs sat in her hands, inside paper containers, the smell of klustard making its way into her nose as she waited.
"CAN'T YOU SEE WE'RE CLOSED!" the voice of an elderly woman said slamming the door open, nearly causing the dogs to fall for Panini's hands as the pixie adjusted her glasses, getting a view of the small Cabbit.
"We don't want any cookies" Truffles replied, mistaking Panini for an apprentice scout as Panini corrected her, well technically she was a scout, but she wasn't even in uniform. but she did sell some cookies to Truffles a few months ago so technically the pixie was justified.
"I'm actually here for Chowder, tell him his girlfriend is here, and she has Clot Dogs" Panini explained as Truffles slammed the door. it was a few minutes before the door creaked open, Panini got a look at Chowder peeking through, waving to him before he finally opened.
Chowder seemed like he did not expect her to come but took the Clot Dog with no problems, it was just the way he liked it, swallowing the dog, sucking the klustard off his fingers, sniffing the air, melting into a puddle of euphoria.
"So" he went on looking at Panini as smiled, making eye contact with him, letting out a 'so' of her own. it was silence before Panini was the one to speak, thanking Chowder so much for being her boyfriend, she promised he would not regret this. this was the day she dreamed about for the longest time. it would be a funny story for their kids, asking Chowder if she wanted soft rock of jazz at their wedding. The answer new wave, Cyndi Lauper, which she answered herself as Chowder finally spoke, getting Panini's attention.
"Panini, look... I'm willing to be your 'trial' boyfriend, you know see how this work before we make it official, mean if it doesn't work out, I'm not 'breaking up' with you. if i like being your boyfriend at the end of the month we'll make it official, does that make sense?" Chowder asked as Panini agreed, confident she could win him over.
"That being said, I have a few small rules, Rule One, no kisses, also no hugging without prior consent, Rule Two, you bring me a blurpleberry each day you spend with me and Rule Three, no talk about babies and/or weddings" Chowder added as Panini found the rules weird but agreed with a few terms of her own.
"Rule One, you cannot deny you're my boyfriend, I say you're my boyfriend, you say, 'yes I am', Rule two, you give me the full month, no ending it early, and Rule Three, I'm allowed hand-holding and one daily hug/cuddle" Panini proposed as Chowder, sniffed the air, shaking her hand making a deal as she smiled.
"So, that's it, we're Boyfriend/Girlfriend?" Panini asked as Chowder replied calmly.
"I Am your Boyfriend" he replied putting a spin on his catchphrase as Panini smiled at him, asking what his plans were for today. Cowder explained he was going to throw rocks off the boardwalk as Panini looked at him.
"Chowder it's our first day as a couple, I think it's important we spend it together, as a... date" she whispered in his ear. Chowder had forgotten that being in a couple meant he'd have to go on dates. he looked around.
"Okay, we can do lunch" Chowder replied, admitting he could eat as panini smiled, looking at her Num Nums, agreeing to lunch.
"But I get to pick the place" Panini called out as Chowder requested nowhere, too fancy as he was not made of dollops, in fact Panini was richer than he was so she should pay. she countered saying it was the guy's responsibility to pay on dates. they talked about it but decided to go 50/50 on it.
"I'm so pumped for this" Panini admitted, asking if she could use the bathroom to freshen up as Chowder, shook his head, letting out a frantic no, in part due to the strong Blurpleberry smell she gave off, in part to not wanting panini in his bathroom. he played it off as she did not need it, smelling wonderful.
Panini giggled, figuring out Chowder liked her bodywash. the two left for the date as Chowder said goodbye to Truffles walking off with Panini as she held her hand out, reminding she was allowed handholding privileges as he reluctantly agreed, holding her hand as they walked off.
"Aww, that is so sweet" Truffles said hovering through the front of the building as Mung was working on a dish, Truffles was smiling telling Mung that Chowder had a little girlfriend as Mung chuckled.
"A Natural ladies' man, just like yours truly, guess it must have rubbed off in him" Mung said with a bit of pride for the young boy as Truffles told him they went off on a date as Mung commented love was in the air, holding up a plate of Razzleberry Turnovers.
"Speaking of romance, how about we eat these and see where things go?" Mung suggested as Truffles turned her nose up, saying the Razzleberries would make her fat, flying back as Mung looked at his wife flying away.
"Okay, back to the drawing board" Mung concluded, deciding he'd give Chowder the Turnovers when he got back.
(So, I decided that Chowder would have terms for dating Panini so he could break it off later and not actually dump her, this leads to panini making her own terms. also, Truffles does not know who Panini is)
