Once back on the Minerva, Itachi started planning his exit. He placed explosive notes all over the Legend, Impulse, and Minerva.
On the Eternal, the information that Lacus was waiting for finally came.
"The place was completely destroyed" said DaCosta.
"But I did manage to find this" he said taking out a notebook.
Lacus took it and started looking through it.
"This is it" said Lacus.
"This is the proof we were looking for" she said.
The radar went off as a reconnaissance GINN appeared before destroying the cameras.
"A Reconnaissance GINN," said Andrew.
"You were followed" growled Lacus.
"I didn't know" shouted DaCosta.
"We warned you that Mendel could be under surveillance" said Lacus.
"I had to get that information back" said DaCosta.
"It's no good to us dead," said Andrew.
"Launch the Eternal from the factory and prepare the Strike Freedom for launch" ordered Lacus.
"I will go clean up the mess that you caused" she said glaring at DaCosta.
Rocks broke away revealing the Eternal underneath that took off with a small ZAFT fleet chasing after them.
Lacus went to the locker room and got changed into her pilot suit before getting into the Strike Freedom's cockpit.
"What are we facing" asked Lacus?
"3 Nazca-class with about 25 mobile suits," said Andrew.
"Understood" said Lacus.
"Lacus Clyne, Strike Freedom launching"
The Strike Freedom launched from the Eternal and started taking out the GOUFs nearest the Eternal with its beam rifles. It then went into HiMAT mode and started destroying all the mobile suits around it. Some of the GOUFs tried to flank her from behind only to be take taken out by her Dragoons covering her back.
Once all the GOUFs were gone, the Strike Freedom recalled its Dragoons and went after the 3 Nazca-class ships. She unleashed her Dragoons disabling them before firing her cannons taking them all out. She recalled her Dragoons and went back to the Eternal.
"Establish orbit over Orb" ordered Lacus.
"I will head down once the attack begins" she said.
In Orb, Djibril is seen arriving and the Seirans welcoming him openly.
"Those idiots" growled Cagalli.
"They didn't even try to hide it," said Stella.
"We better get ready" said Cagalli.
Soon after, a ZAFT fleet appeared near Orb lead by the Minerva demanding that Orb hand over Djibril to ZAFT. Yuna Roma Seiran foolishly claimed Djibril wasn't in Orb and they never heard of him.
Itachi was shocked at how stupid Seiran was.
"I can't believe he just said that, especially that last part," said Padma.
"He is worse than I thought" thought Itachi.
ZAFT launched their attack but held back the Destiny and Legend until they were needed.
"Cagalli and Stella better launch soon so that I can blow this place" thought Itachi.
Cagalli and Stella were already in their pilot suits and were about to get into their Gundams when Kisaka and Chief Simmons ran up to them.
"Wait a minute" shouted Erica!
"Why are you stopping me" asked Cagalli growling?
"You need to hear Lord Uzumi's last words" said Kisaka.
"Why should I hear whatever that coward has to say" said Cagalli.
"How could you say that" exclaimed Kisaka.
"He foolishly blew himself up when he didn't have to" said Cagalli.
"He had plenty of time to do it remotely" she added.
"Please at least come see where it is" pleaded Erica.
"Fine" grumbled Cagalli.
Kisaka and Chief Simmons led Cagalli and Stella to a secret hanger.
"Don't tell me it's a mobile suit" thought Cagalli.
"Please open it," said Erica.
Cagalli opened the hanger doors revealing a golden mobile suit.
"It is" thought Cagalli.
Ignoring the recording that was playing, Cagalli shouted "Why am I just finding out this now?!"
"It would have been really useful before" she added.
"We were told to only give it to you if Orb fell under attack again" said Kisaka.
"So, if Orb never fell under attack, I would have never gotten this" said Cagalli.
"He was a foolish coward" she said.
"Why is the armor all shiny" asked Stella?
"That is because it has a mirror coating that can reflect or refract beam attacks" explained Erica.
"What about beam sabers" asked Cagalli?
"It doesn't work on beam blades since there is nothing to reflect or refract" explained Erica.
"Go get ready Stella" said Cagalli.
"Ok" said Stella running off.
"Is there anything else that you are hiding" asked Cagalli?
"No" said Kisaka shaking his head.
Cagalli got into her new Gundam and started it up. She saw that its name was Akatsuki.
"Everybody ready" asked Cagalli?
"Yes" said Stella.
"Yes ma'am" said the Murasame pilots.
"Let's go" said Cagalli.
"Cagalli Yula Athha, Akatsuki launching"
The Akatsuki took off and joined up with the Freedom and Murasames before heading off to the battle. When they arrived, they started taking out ZAFT mobile suits. Cagalli tried the mirror coating and reflected a beam bolt back at an enemy mobile suit taking it out.
"Nice" thought Cagalli.
"But I can't become reliant on it" she thought.
"I have to treat it like Phase Shift Armor" she thought.
She then contacted Orb HQ.
"This is Cagalli Yula Athha"
"Put the commander in chief on" she ordered.
"That's me" proclaimed Yuna.
"Perfect" thought Cagalli.
"Do you recognize me as Cagalli Yula Athha, Chief Representative of the Orb Union" asked Cagalli.
"Of course," proclaimed Yuna.
"There is no doubt in my mind" he said.
"Then I order our forces to capture Yuna Roma Seiran for treason" ordered Cagalli.
"GET HIM"
"Make him cough up Djibril location" ordered Cagalli.
She then took command of Orb's Defense forces and started pushing ZAFT back.
On the Minerva, their three pilots were waiting in the ready room.
"Orb has started to push us back since that new machine appeared and took command," said Rey.
"I will go take care of it" said Itachi getting up.
"Won't you need help" asked Luna?
"I will be fine," said Itachi.
"It is just one machine" he added.
"I will go get ready as well," said Rey.
"Just in case any more surprises show up" he said.
"Thanks" said Itachi as he left.
Itachi got into the Destiny and launched it. He primed the explosive notes right before he launched. The Minerva blew up as he flew away.
The Destiny took out its anti-ship sword and activated its wings before shooting forward. To the shock of ZAFT, it started taking out their mobile suits.
"You are finally joining us" asked Cagalli?
"Yes" said Itachi.
"Where did your new Gundam come from" he asked?
"That foolish coward had it built for me, and they just told me about it" grumbled Cagalli.
Then everyone's radar started going off as something came down from orbit. It was soon revealed to be a mobile suit. It looked like an upgraded Freedom.
"Nice entrance," said Parvati.
"Harry's entrance was better," said Gabrielle.
"You built a new Freedom" asked Itachi?
"ZAFT designed it, and we stole it and built it" said Lacus.
"We also built the new Justice for Stella as well" she added.
"Thank you," said Stella.
"Lady Cagalli, Seiran claims he doesn't know where Djibril is"
"We have started a sector sweep"
"Keep me posted" said Cagalli.
"Damn it" she shouted.
"I could find out if he is lying but I would only be able to read his surface thoughts," said Itachi.
"Because you have to be discreet" said Cagalli.
"Correct" said Itachi.
"Let's go" said Cagalli.
The Akatsuki and Destiny took off towards Orb HQ. They took out any ZAFT mobile suits that were near it before landing. They both got out of their Gundams and took off their helmets before running to the command center.
"Lady Cagalli" said all the soldiers saluting seeing her run in.
"Legilimens" thought Itachi focusing on Seiran.
"Where is Djibril" asked Cagalli?
"I don't know" cried Yuna.
"Do you know where it might have gone to escape" asked Cagalli?
Itachi saw Seiran think about their secret escape shuttle. He used the Imperius Curse to make Seiran talk about their shuttle and its location.
"He might have gone to our secret escape shuttle" said Yuna.
"Where is it" asked Cagalli growling?
Seiran told them the location.
"That is sector two ma'am" said a soldier.
"They have already reported no sign of Djibril" they added.
"Ask them again and get me a headset" ordered Cagalli.
Cagalli was quickly given a headset and she contacted Lacus and Stella.
"Lacus, Stella, head to this location" said Cagalli giving them the location.
"A shuttle carrying Djibril could launch from there at any moment" she said.
"We will take care of it," said Lacus.
