Gladion approached the Yvone-Berlitz residence, and knocked on the door twice. After a few minutes, Serena opened the door and screamed. After a week in the hospital, Gladion was cleared to go home.
Gladion was now wearing an eye patch, with a ruby in the center where his eye should be.
"I have some explaining to do, let's go on a walk.."
After explaining the events of last week….Serena sat down.
"I…I don't know how to feel…..just hatred right now, Gladion…he killed two of your pokemon, and took your eye,"
"The kids need to know…."
"Knowing them, they'll want to rush in and battle him, and maybe kill him. And take it from me, they won't win….," Gladion spoke softly
"I have a secret weapon….let's give them a year to train…trust me. I know how they can beat him. But we need to be honest with them…." Serena said, whatever she was hiding sounded strong
"Alright, fine….." Gladion gave in

The next day….
"Sun, Elio, Selene….sit down…something's happened, and we need you three onboard," Serena said, as she sat her kids down for a family meeting
"Don't panic, everything's going to be okay," Dawn said
"Okay…" Sun replied, worried about his mother
Gladion walked in the room with his eyepatch.
Everyone gasped as Gladion sat down.
"Your father did this…..I didn't even stand a chance in the battle…..we need you three to help bring him to justice….please, train for a year and then go find him," Gladion said bluntly
"Wha….how…..huh?" Sun was astonished
"I know it's a lot to take in, but please listen…..," Serena said
Gladion slowly started explaining the events of last week, and the foe they'd be against
"So….here I am…and I need to know, are you onboard or not?" Gladion asked
Sun blurted out, "Hell yes, anyone who's hurt my uncle like that, deserves to pay….related to me or not,"
"This isn't about vengeance, it's about justice," Gladion said
Serena joined in, "Remember, bring him in alive if possible,"
Sun nodded, "Let's do this, training starts today,"
Elio sighed, "Let's show this fucker what the Yvone's are made of,"
Selene smiled, "Where my brothers go, I go,"
Serena pulled them into a hug, "I love you three so much,"

One year later…
Thanks to the genius of Clemont, a scientific breakthrough was able to aid the children.
The training chamber 9000 was a room, designed to create hologram pokemon who moved quicker, and could soak up more damage than any normal pokemon. They couldn't dish out attacks, but it certainly helped in building the speed and endurance of their teams, as well as the strength of their attacks. On the maximum difficulty, it could even simulate the strength of pokemon who've rivaled legendaries such as Alain's Charizard.
As for building their defenses, Elio, Selene and Sun trained daily by battling each other, racking up two thousand hours against each other.
By the end of the year, each of them had improved to around the level of a regional champion. They felt confident enough that they could finally face the challenge.
Finally, the day arrived, and at the airport, Dawn and Serena bid their children farewell.
Gladion stood there, keeping a watchful eye, rooting for his nieces and nephews.

It was early spring in Kalos, a light snowfall still coated the ground, but the sun was shining and some early birds were singing. In perhaps a week, the snow will have melted and life will bloom.
Ash smiled, this was among his favorite times of year, aside from early summer.
However, he couldn't help but hide the sinking feeling that something was wrong.

"These are the coordinates that Gladion provided, or at least to the best of his memory…." Selene said, shivering. It was much colder here then she was used to back home in Alola, not bothering to approach the chills of Mount Lanikala.
"Imagine if this is a dud, and we trained for just a false flag," Elio said
Suddenly, a branch snapped, and a loud noise was set off.
Selene was lifted up in the air, seemingly telepathically, suspended five meters off the ground.
"Selene!" Elio screamed out
A cloaked figure walked out of the branches, a Greninja on one side, and a Frogadier on the other. Greninja held out his grip, continuing to levitate Selene in the air.
"Let her go…father!" Elio screamed
Ash smiled, "I mean you three no harm, please…I just needed to get your attention,"
Sun spoke up, "Release her now, recall your pokemon and put your hands in the air, we've come to arrest you for your crimes,"
Ash lowered Selene
Ash shook his head, "I won't face your so called justice,"
"You used to be a good man, a hero, you saved the world…millions of people admired you Ash, now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy," Elio spoke
"Don't lecture me son, this…justice? Why should I be punished for falling in love, why should I face death for following my heart," Ash said
"Then follow your heart to your grave, your actions…you left three fatherless children behind," Elio said angrily
"I had no choice! I didn't even know you three existed until Gladion came looking for me," Ash tried defending himself
"And you mutilated our uncle," Selene said angrily
"This won't end peacefully, there will be no love found here father, it's justice in Alola, or we bury you right here, right now," Sun said, swagger in his voice
"Please, don't make me kill you three, I love you guys, we're a family!" Ash said, tears in his eyes
"Our allegiance is to Alola, to justice!" Sun said, Selene and Elio nodded, backing their brother up
A light rain began to fall, and Ash turned his back to the triplets.
"I will do what I must," Ash said with a weary heart
"You will try!" Sun said, as he reached for his belt
Immediately, the three fully evolved Alola starters came out
Primarina, Incineroar and Decidueye emerged from their trainers belts, Ash simply motioned for Frogadier to step back.
"Frogadier, let's start this off, double team!" Ash said, his back turned from the battlefield
"Primarina! Ice Beam! Aim for him!" Selene commanded
Primarina fired an ice beam, and Greninja batted it away
"Frogadier, gunk shot…we play fair in this family," Ash said
Selene gritted her teeth
Frogadier vanished, reappearing straight over Primarina and unloaded a point-blank gunk shot that sent Primarina flying back into a tree.
"Decidueye, magical leaf!" Elio shouted
"Dark pulse!" Sun commanded
Ash snapped his fingers, and Frogadier appeared behind Primarina who was just recovering, avoiding the dark pulse, and the homing magical leaves crashed into Primarina, knocking it out.
Before Selene could even send out her next Pokemon, Frogadier had hit Decidueye with an ice punch, and pushed the ice cube into Incineroar. Incineroar jumped over the ice cube, and landed a powerful hit on Frogadier, who flew into a tree but rebounded and used the momentum to speed a powerful power-up punch straight into Incineroar's face who fell down, and then punched the ice cube again, knocking the grass starter out.
Incineroar got back up after a second, and Selene and Elio sent out their next Pokemon.
Frogadier punched Incineroar immediately, without a command, Incineroar was sent crashing to the ground, out for the count.
Selene sent out Smeargle, and ordered a spore
The homing grass type attack put Frogadier to sleep.
"Come on Gastrodon!" Elio sent out
"Let's go Hawlucha!" Sun said
Smeargle, Hawlucha and Gastrodon stared down Frogadier who was asleep.
Ash smirked, "Work as a team, and you stand a chance, fight alone, and you'll lose"
"He's playing games with us! Hawlucha, brave bird!" Sun commanded
"Gastrodon, use scald!" Elio said
"Smeargle, use our special beam!" Selene commanded
Smeargle began charging power.
"Now," Ash said
Frogadier bit down on the Lum berry that he stored in his scarf, and opened his eyes, doing a "matrix" style dodge against the Scald, before stepping out of the way against Hawlucha and grabbing him in a chokehold.
"Hawlucha! Free yourself!"
"Sorry Sun, Gastrodon! Scald again, point blank! Get in close!"
"Frogadier, get behind Gastrodon," Ash commanded
Frogadier got behind Gastrodon, dragging a struggling Hawlucha with him.
"I'm sorry boys, we're still taking the shot!" Selene yelled
"Wait, Selene, that will-" Sun protested
"He has two pokemon, we each have six" Selene said
"But Selene- Gastrodon, run!" Elio shouted
"FIRE" Selene commanded
Smeargle unleashed a pink and black beam that was twice the size of any ordinary hyper beam, crashing into all three pokemon.
The sheer power of the attack caused the entire ground to shake, and created a large crater in the area.
Smeargle collapsed from the exertion, but the job was complete.
Frogadier, Gastrodon, and Hawlucha were all taken out.
Ash smiled, this was where the fun began. Greninja stepped forward, ready to take charge of the day.
The triplets looked at eachother, and nodded.
"Mr Mime! Grimsnarl! Toxapex!" Three voices rang out, and three defensive pokemon appeared
"Surrender now, please," Ash said
"We outnumber you!" Elio shouted
"And if you don't surrender, we'll kill you!" Sun yelled
"The flaw of power is arrogance" Ash replied, snapping his fingers
"Baneful Bunker!"
"Light Screen!"
"Reflect!"
"Attack," Ash simply spoke
Greninja sped towards their triple reinforced barrier, and slammed into it, for a second it seemed as if it would keep him out, and then it started cracking, once, twice, three times, four times, and then it snapped.
"Grimsnarl! Thunder wav-" Sun gasped, as suddenly Greninja drove a water shuriken sword through Grimsnarl's heart.
Grimsnarl dropped down on the spot, almost certainly mortally wounded.
Sun recalled his pokemon.
"I didn't want to do this, but next time it won't be a non lethal shot, I swear," Ash said
"Mr Mime! Trap him in a barrier!" Selene shouted
"Good idea, bad execution," Ash said, as Greninja slammed into , sending it into its own barrier, before being sliced rapidly with a water shuriken sword across the chest.
Selene recalled Mr. Mime, grateful she did in time.
"Annihilate that pest, Greninja use extrasensory," Ash commanded, his back still turned to the battlefield.
Greninja lifted Toxapex up in the air and slammed it around ragdoll style before dropping it. Thankfully Toxapex as a species had no bones, otherwise they'd all be broken.
Ash smirked, "What's next?"
"Hydregion! Attack!"
"Chandelure, let's go!" Selene and Elio both said, one was shiny and one was not
"Energy ball!" Selene and Elio both shouted
"Dragon pulse" Sun yelled
The attacks sped towards Greninja
"Water stars!" Ash yelled
Greninja raised a giant water shuriken that split off into ten thousand small water stars, each the size of a golf ball.
"Fire!"
The storm of water stars sped towards the attacks, meeting them head on, countering the energy balls, but the dragon pulse managed to hit Greninja head on.
"Direct hit!"
"Greninja, you okay?," Ash asked, and upon getting a nod, he gave another command.
"Water spears!" Ash yelled
Greninja formed a Phalanx of spears, and launched them straight at his foes.
Hydregion narrowly avoided the attack, however the duo of Chandelure weren't so lucky.
"Now, finish them off with a giant water shuriken!"
"Fire blast!" Elio shouted
"Energy ball again!" Selene yelled
"Dark pulse!" Sun yelled
Greninja got in between Hydreigon to his back, and the duo of Chandelure to his front before letting them fire, teleporting out of the way at the last minute. Hydregion dodged, but the duo of Chandelure took a head on a dark pulse, knocking them out. The two ghost types fell to the ground, and Hydregion turned around, facing Greninja with his trainers.
Elio looked at Selene, who gulped.
Sun sighed as he stared down Greninja
"Alright guys, we can do this! Come on! Remember the sweet memories we made! Remember our virtues! Or this is it!" Sun tried motivating his siblings, but just sounded like a scared child.
"Salamence!" Elio called out
"Melmetal!" Selene shouted for
Hydreigon landed, and the three pokemon faced off against Greninja.
"How can you see the battle?"
"Greninja and I, we share a pair of eyes," Ash said
"It's that bond phenomenon," Elio explained
Selene nodded, "We can do this guys, just hit that frog really hard,"
"You make it sound like this'll be easy," Elio muttered
"No need to worry," Selene said
"You sound like mom," Sun said with a smile
"Salamence! Dragon Dance"
"Melmetal, Double Iron Bash!"
"Hydreigon! Tri Attack!"
"Greninja, Extrasensory! Lift Melmetal up!"
Greninja lifted Melmetal in the air, using it as a shield against Hydregion's attack, but taking a powerful punch in exchange.
"Counter shield!"
"Salamence! Draco Meteor!" Elio ordered
"Ah fuck it, Hydregion! Draco Meteor also!"
"Melmetal! Protect!"
Salamence and Hydregion launched their draco meteors into the sky, and formed one massive orb the size of a small building that split into a hundred thousand smaller pieces.
"Greninja! Counter Shield!"
Greninja started a counter shield, with razor sharp blades of water that sliced through the meteors and even hit Salamence and Hydreigon.
However, a few orbs broke through and hit Greninja.
"Greninja! Blizzard!" Ash yelled
Greninja stood up, and mimicking the movements of Ash, calmly walked through the storm of meteors, moving his head slightly to avoid some.
The triplets stood in awe
"Now, Greninja! Fire!" Ash yelled
Greninja released a blizzard that froze both Hydreigon and Salamence on the spot, knocking them both out as they came crashing to earth.
"Now, slice Melmetal open with your water swords!" Ash ordered
Greninja sped towards Melmetal, and before Selene could even blink, Melmetal collapsed.
Greninja looked worse for wear, clearly worn out and having taken some damage from the Draco Meteors.
"Okay guys….now or never! Absol! Scizor! Charizard!"
"Mega evolve on three!"
"One"
"Two"
"Three"
Ash smiled, "If you're going all out, so will I! Greninja! Let's do this!"
Greninja was surrounded by water… and then out stepped Ash-Greninja
"Yvone family Attack!"
Greninja saw the Mega Charizard X, and instantly targeted it.
Mega Scizor sped towards Greninja but was kicked away with ease
Absol charged in, but was sidestepped and greeted with a water shuriken to the face
Mega Charizard X and Greninja traded blows for a moment, and Greninja fell down
Charizard, Scizor and Absol seized this opportunity and landed a blow that knocked Ash to his knees. All three took turns attacking, dealing more and more damage.
Ash screamed "No mercy! Greninja! Hydro Cannon!"
All three megas tried to flee, but to no avail
The Ash-Greninja Hydro Cannon could be seen from space.
After the dust settled, only one Pokemon remained.
Ash-Greninja stood tall, champion of the day.
"It's over, I've defeated your entire teams," Ash said
"No….I have one more," Sun said
Ash laughed, "Oh please….it's over Sun! I have the advantage!"
"You underestimate our power," Elio said
"Raichu…come on out,"
Ash gasped, even all these years later…even if he evolved, he'd recognize his best buddy anywhere.
"You…how could you?" Ash said, emotion in his voice
"Rai…chu,"
"He says,"
"I know what he's fucking saying," Ash said
"Well, I'm sorry buddy, I still love you, but…this can't be settled now…..maybe in the next life we can go on an adventure again," Ash said sadly
"Raichu, get ready for our ultimate attack!" Sun said, revealing his Z ring, Selene and Elio did the same.
"Greninja, one more attack! Use my life force for this one! Take my soul! Stand up! Put it in your next Hydro Cannon!" Ash shouted
Greninja began to drain a white aura out of Ash, causing him to fall to one knee. After a moment, it was done. Greninja stood up and began charging up his ultimate beam.
The triplets did the same, and it was time for the clash.
"ONE BILLION VOLT THUNDERBOLT!" They all screamed
"Greninja, Hydro Cannon Soul Attack! Full force!" Ash cried out
The two attacks of immeasurable power collided, and they began to struggle.
The blue and white hydro cannon against the golden thunderbolt. They pushed back and forth, neither able to gain an edge. And then, they exploded.

The dust settled,
Greninja was dead.
Sun was missing a head
Elio was missing his entire upper body.
Ash was mortally wounded, coughing blood
Selene stood there, covered in blood and sweat, but still alive.
Ash watched Raichu crawl towards him, and curl up next to him.
Ash smiled, ran his hands over his best buddy and closed his eyes for the last time.
After Ash and Raichu(Pikachu) gave their last breath,
Selene looked into the field, the lifeless bodies of her brothers and father and their Pokémon lay in front of her.
As tears flowed from her eyes she looked into her bag and picked out a small flute, she had studied with Elite 4 Acerola to perform a melody to mourn the departed, she closed her eyes and poured her heart into the song.
After opening her eyes Selene was surprised to see that the corpses had vanished. Instead she was standing in front of a huge tree, the size of a skyscraper with a white trunk and golden leaves where multiple small green creatures shined next to its roots.
She looked into the pond next to her where a small Froakie just hatched from its egg, opening its eyes for the first time. Selene started to cry.
3 days later
Selene was back in Alola with her foster mothers and uncle, a token funeral was made in memory of Elio and Sun.
"My dear, I'm sorry for not telling you everything, if you want to cut us off I won't judge you" said Serena sadly.
"Don't worry mom, you were victims of the situation, if I were in your place it probably wouldn't have been different" she replied.
"You found this Froakie after the battle?" Asked Dawn
"Yes, it looks like the last child of Father's Greninja. I don't know but I feel like I was supposed to find it, maybe it's my new beginning free from our family's curse," Selene said
"So what now….," Gladion asked
"I will travel the world, like you two and my father used to in your youth, although I am unsure of where to go" Selene admitted
"If you're unsure of what to do just take a first step," said Serena
"I heard there are unusual events happening in the Paldea Region, they are mostly isolated and seem to have phenomenons never seen in our world," said Dawn
"Maybe it could be a good place for you" Serena suggested
"Thanks mom I will go, I love you both," said Selene as she kissed her mothers goodbye
And she departed with Froakie, ready to pave her own road.
