It had been three days since her life turned upside down.
Her eyes were bloodshot from all the crying she had done in that time. Never in her life did she think she would be laying on a bed in an unknown room with Itachi Uchiha. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the ceiling of the room. It felt as if her mind was racing and empty all at once.
"Sakura."
He was forced to. Danzo made him. He had to play along to protect Sasuke.
"Sakura.."
They hated him for no reason. Sasuke hated him for nothing.."
"Sakura"
Her thoughts were interrupted as Itachi placed his hand on hers. She looked over at him, his eyes filled with curiosity, concern. He was concerned over her. He was worried about her state, after all he had been through. He really was the complete opposite of what she thought he was.
"Can you do this?" he asked sternly. It was phrased as a question but for some reason it came off more as a demand. She had to do this.
"..Yes.." she said as she sat up on the bed "I'll join the Akatsuki."
It was a sentence she never thought would leave her mouth. She would no longer be weak.
It had been nine months since Sakura had officially joined the Akatsuki but no one had seen or heard from the pinkette since. That whole time unknown to anyone she had been training with the Akatsuki. They were finding every limit and weakness she had and pushed her past it.
Kisame's training consisted of battles using swords, katanas, and any object wielding. Sakura had never trained to use any type of swords for her field medic status so she was very out of her league. They began with bamboo sticks. By the end of their many training sessions she would be covered in welts and bruises which she wasn't allowed to heal. He also trained her when it came to storing and using chakra in useful ways. Though Tsuande had already covered that due to her perfect chakra control Kisame pushed her to levels her former Sensei would have never dared to do. It was as if she developed a whole new place to store even more chakra for her future use.
Training with the blue skinned man caused them to form an unlikely friendship. He was surprisingly funny. At first he seemed very quiet, almost uninterested. She thought their sessions bored him but overtime as she got better, sharper, faster he would compliment her and even give her tips. He also watched over her to make sure no one overstepped their boundaries when it came to her.
She appreciated it. He wasn't so bad after all.
When they had shrimp for dinner she would secretly give him her portion which he loved. He would give her a soft smile showing off his jagged teeth which never failed to bring her to a small laugh.
They looked out for one another.
It worked out for the best since she was placed on a three man team with him and Itachi.
She had trained with all the members except Tobi and Hidan. Tobi was always joking around but something about him was off to her. She just sensed that it was all an act to cover something up. And if she was right about that, that alone was frightening.
When it came to Hidan, Sakura avoided him at all costs.
Sakura had been asleep in the room Itachi said was going to be her's temporarily. She had just finished training with the black haired man, she was exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally.
He was training her using his eyes. She knew it was bound to happen but never had she imagined it would be this draining.
She never heard her room door open, nor the footsteps that followed the door closing.
Hidan had come into her room, uninvited in her sleep.
His gaze always made her uncomfortable during her recent stay with the group but never had he crossed a line with her, up until that day.
Unknowing to her he had a growing obsession with her since being introduced to the Akatsuki.
His eyes looked her up and down slowly as he took her in, passed out on her bed not knowing what was to come.
He made his move, navigating to her bed. He crawled onto it positioning his knees and either said of her. Trapping her under his form.
She felt the mattress sink under her slightly but was so exhausted.
He smirked as he knew her fatigue would be her demise to him.
He moved his face down to the crook of her neck and inhaled immediately making him hard, he pressed his hips down to grind against her.
Her eyes burst open as she felt her arms immediately begin to push against him.
No.
No.
It was all she could think.
He continued to grind against her leaving wet kisses against her skin, whispering dirty things into her skin.
Her muscles screamed as they were so tired.
His hand moved down under her skirt and undergarments to touch her folds roughly. She cried out softly as he chuckled at her suffering,
He was getting off on it.
She cried harder as she felt him shove a finger inside of her.
NO.
She then felt his weight immediately ripped off of her.
She had shut her eyes tightly up until that moment.
She looked up and saw him. Itachi had him against the wall.
His hand at his throat.
No words were spoken but they all understood what he was saying.
Sakura was to be left alone, or else.
Ever since that day she shared a room with Itachi.
They both grew accustomed to each other.
Hidan left her alone.
Itachi held her as she cried that night.
He confided in her about his illness.
She healed him, made him feel better.
She couldn't cure him but it didn't stop her from trying.
She helped ease his pain.
He trusted her with his eyes.
They had an unspoken language.
They both had an unfinished deal.
They wouldn't stop until Sasuke was saved.
It had been nine long months before she was deemed ready by Pain and Tobi to be able to officially go out on a mission.
It had been two days since they set off on their mission. Sakura found herself surprised at her eagerness to be let out of their cave of a home.
They were set to monitor the Jinchuriki of the nine tailed fox aka Naruto.
She knew they assigned her to him to test her. They wanted to see if she could do it.
Some part of her thought they wanted her to fail. She couldn't.
"Saki."
Kisame's voice interrupted her train of thought.
She looked over at him as he smiled at her teasingly, it was a nickname he had given to her a while back.
She looked over at Itachi as he watched her "We set camp here." he said as he turned away to set up some sort of heat for them.
It had became dark around them, it would be the first time they stopped since setting off on the mission.
She moved along side Kisame to set up their tents, it looked like it would rain at some point throughout the night.
"You won't have an excuse to cuddle up to Itachi tonight Saki" the jagged toothed man said with amusement as he elbowed her slightly.
She smirked towards him as she finished setting up her tent as she moved to Itachi's "Sounds like you might be jealous I get to Kissie"
The shark looking man's mouth dropped before laughing at her remark, another reason she grew fond of him. He knew how to take a joke.
They both took turns laughing before they were interrupted by Itachi's smooth voice "Kisame stop fooling around"
This caused the blue man to glare at the Uchiha and Sakura to giggle as she stuck her tongue out at "Kissie" earning a smile from Itachi.
Sakura's smile immediately was wiped away from her face as she looked from Kisame to Itachi "He's nearby"
Itachi froze momentarily before he himself scanned.
"So he is..." he said as he regained composure.
Kisame broke out into a smile "Looks like we get to see a family reunion" he said as he looked from Sakura to Itachi.
Sakura couldn't help but feel her heart flutter in her chest. "Sasuke-kun.." she whispered to no one in particular. She felt Itachi's eyes on her, she looked up at him as they silently spoke before nodding.
