Hogwarts open day
Got this idea but not sure if its kinda pathetic,
Please review
It was a cold day in January when Professor Dumbeldore had decided that February the 10th would be a great day to hold the Parents open day. He'd decided that this should be the first year to hold such an event to give the parents an insight into how the students learnt and how they lived while they were away. The day would consist of tours around the school, a grand lunch out on the school fields with the head students and the prefects against the heads of houses and senior staff in a quidditch match. The afternoon's time for parent-teacher conferences and observations of lessons. The night would be filled with a gala dinner with the parents of the students in attendance also.
What was the catch? I hear you ask, it sounds fun?
"Yeah Sirius great fun to organise, when I took on head boy I didn't expect this," Said James with a sigh. "It's 2 days time and I still haven't organised this match and me and \Lily are still head locked between what food to have for the dinner,"
"I told you nothing fancy mate,"
"Well that's not she thinks,"
"You two getting on okay lately then?"
"Yeah, not that well but we are getting civilized, but what do you expect? It's been about 5 months,"
"About time, she would drive me crazy mate," Sirius remarked.
The boys continued their respective homework on their beds. They were lying in their dormitory in Griffindor tower, when there was a loud bang at the door, which then opened straight away.
"James?" asked Lily tentatively, "You ready for our final planning meeting?" As if in answer James lifted himself with a sigh from his comfy bed and trudged behind Lily grumbling a goodbye to Sirius.
They went to a private study room in the library and began to discuss the two final problems in the agenda, the match and the dinner.
"Well," Lily said, "About these prefect match I think in fairness we should have at least one player from each house, I know myself the girls don't want to play especially not Agnes Finch, Stephanie Robson or kayleigh Jackson," She sighed, "I have it from them personally, so basically the 4 boy prefects, Lupin, Snape, Kelly and Headley." James flinched at the sound of Snape's name. "I'm sorry but it has to be fair James, plus technically you have an advantage because if you play there will be two griffindors on the team, but that's the way Dumbeldore made it when he made you head boy,"
"So, Potter, Headley, Snape, Kelly, Lupin," she groaned, "That means I will have to play doesn't it? I know Vanessa from hufflepuff wont mind playing," She frowned. "Do I have to?"
"Yes, Lily you do. I'm suffering with Snape, you can suffer too,"
"Hardly the same thing,"
There was a few minutes of silence,
"So," James started, "The food then,"
"Yes?" Lily prompted.
"You're the girl, you decide,"
"How about something like salmon?"
"Bertie botts every flavour beans," he suggested
It was going to be a LONG MEETING!
