I looked around me at the eight pairs of eyes staring at me.

"I'm assuming you're part human too, or else you would have attacked me by now. Would one of you be so kind as to change back and use vocal cords before I go crazy?" I ask as I crouched down and sat like a dog. Tilting my head to the side.

One of the wolves left my view, I was watching the alpha, so the wolf that left was the gray one with spots on his back. A few seconds later, I heard the rustle of debris and I turned and looked into the warm eyes of the man that came out. It felt as if time stopped as we stare into each other's eyes.

He quickly walked over to me and held out his hand. I was still looking at him. He was close enough that I could smell his scent and he smelled wonderful, not just cause I was in heat. I felt my heart thump painfully against my chest.

"I think we have a problem?" I question as I looked around but the other wolves just retreated back into the woods.

The man shook his head. "No, they know what just happened to me. By the way, I'm Embry."

"I'm Aurelia but Lia will do." I respond I couldn't help it. I was drawn into this man's warmth. Everything was screaming at me, that he was mine and I was his.

"Let's talk somewhere more comfortable?" Embry questions as he held my hand. "Why were you eating that deer raw, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Pure and simple, animalisic instincts." I answer "Sometimes, I need to be myself."

Embry took me to a cabin in the woods. I could smell there were people in there.

"No one is going to harm you, I won't allow it." Embry soothed me, I look at him and his eyes were telling me the truth.

We went inside, and I saw seven people with the scent of a wolf staring at me, plus one purely human woman.

Embry explained what imprinting was to me, which confirmed my feelings that he and I belonged with each other. He then introduced me to everyone in his pack: Sam, Jacob, Paul, Jared, Leah, Seth, Quil, and Emily looked at me.

I sat down at Emily's table. "I'm a hybrid, I am half-human, half-dog demon. My father sent me here to learn about the supernatural occurrences happening here."

"Demons don't exist." Jacob states

I stare at him "Says the man who turns into a russet-colored wolf who is almost as tall as a Clydesdale horse?" I reached up and tugged one of my ears. "I didn't get these surgically grafted to my skull for laughs, they are real as your wolf scent." I snarl at him, Embry placed his hands on my shoulders and I calmed down. "I also have one more thing that is common with canines, I go into heat."

"That's what that scent is." Embry muttered as he leaned in closer sniffing me.

"Yes, it's designed to find a mate and produce pups, kinda like the demonic version of imprinting." I answer

"How does that work?" Emily questioned as she looked at me curiously.

I thought about it, "A female only goes into heat, when her destined mate is around. So i'm guessing, crossing back and forth in the forest, I came across your scents, I didn't know Embry's scent well enough to recognize the signs." I lean back "but my family history tells me that always doesn't last, my grandfather was mated to my grandmother but ended up with a human, he fathered a hybrid child with her, my uncle Inuyasha."

The Pack wanted to know more, so I told him everything I could think of.

"Every animal has a demonic equivalent. There are wolf demons as well, I know a few of them." I comment as I watch them all go outside to finish their patrol.

Embry stayed with me, and we decided to walk along the beach. I took off my shoes because I miss feeling the earth on my bare feet.

I look at him. "I don't understand why you shape-shift into a wolf in the first place?"

Embry told me the legends of his tribe, and how they have a treaty with the Cold Ones, namely the Cullen Family.

Vampires, Demons and now being the imprinted mate of a wolf, who was created to be the enemy of my friends. Can my life get any more strange?

After a while, I decided to head back to Forks, Embry looked at me with an expression that nearly made my heart stop beating.

"What?" I ask

"I can't go into Forks." Embry states
"I'll come back here, if you want me too, I do have school to attend. I'll spend my evenings and weekends with you."

Embry pulled me into a hug. I leaned my head against his chest. I'm starting to wonder if they ever wore shirts. Because a girl could get used to seeing a shirtless wolf in man form.

"You are mine, as I am yours." I state. As I turned and sprinted off into the forest heading back to the Cullen House, I got a lot to think about and how to avoid both sets of friends killing each other over me.
