I hate going so long without being able to write. I just worked sixty hours this week and it really messes with the flow of my stories... ugh!
This is my attempt at getting back into my flow.
"What happened to him?"
Dionysius cringed as Castor and Pollux and Sally Jackson pulled Aaron Mathews into his room. The boy was gone, his soul no longer in his body, that much was clear to Dionysius immediately. Gods were all about energy, so the absence of a soul was something he could tell without fail. Raising a hand, he focused hard and saw exactly what had happened in his minds eye. "The spell he cast, it recharged the barrier and healed the tree on a great scale. The downside, the tree currently uses a human soul as a battery, and as the anchor to his own spell he became the new battery."
Sally groaned. "He is bound there until the spell breaks, right?"
"Maybe, I am not sure. Magic was never my specialty... but likely yes." He frowned. "He may be stuck until the tree is healed entirely, It is just,... unclear. I sense a quest on the horizon."

Thalia frowned, looking at the boy before her with disgust. "You could have been free from our world of awfulness and the gods and you chose to be a part of it?"
Aaron sighed, sad. " I can see why you would think of it like that, but this is my choice, I choose to be what I am. I have the power to matter, to be of importance. To make a difference. I have helped around half a dozen demigods, I have made Mr. D a nicer person, I helped Medusa significantly and one day will undo her curse entirely. I am doing more as a teen than I would ever do as an adult living my life."
That made Thalia pause in her angry, disgusted glare. "I... never considered that."
"Most don't. Anyway, what do we do now?"
"Nothing much, I can't say I remember much about being a tree, just tiny flashes and a sensation of weakness and illness recently. Then, when you got here, I suddenly could think and feel like a person."
"My guess, my best guess, you were in a spiritual coma. Now that I am here, healing you with my essence, you are out of it... at least until I leave or we both do... wanna spar?"
To his shock, she smirked. "Only if you are prepared to lose."
To her shock, he didn't lose, she was stronger by a mile, but he was smarter and far more well-trained and she found herself on her chest, hands bound behind her back in about five minutes. "Who's prepared to lose?"
She groaned. "Losing to a mortal, what a shame."
He just laughed, then groaned as she did as a rush of heat shot through the air. It was magic, pure magic, nature magic. A tugging sensation shot through them, like a fishhook on their navel and the white space around them shattered entirely...
Aaron woke up, in his own body, arching in agony as sensation rushed into his damaged vessel, the air filled with the rush of ozone and storms. Dionysius, who was oddly standing beside him, kneeled. "It worked, the Golden Fleece worked."
"What?" Aaron barked out, head aching.
"The Golden Fleece, Perseus found it and placed it on the tree, or well technically Clarisse did... the magic purged you out, and Thalia as well or so I imagine. That was hours ago, yesterday afternoon."
Nodding, Aaron stood. "We need to get Thalia, there is no way your grandfather will not use this for his own needs."
The man nodded back. "You are right, I am almost entirely sure he will and has... this is likely a setup for him... but you must be careful, Aaron, you cast extremely powerful magic and were technically stuck in the form of astral projection for a week even if I suspect you did not notice the time. Your body is deeply damaged, you must take it very slowly for a time otherwise you might damage your very soul... now... sit, rest and let your body heal."
Laying back, Aaron nodded and slowly, he fell into sleep wondering just what would come of their world now that there were two children of the Big Three in the Open... and soon to be Four...
Would they survive, or was this Destiny?
Only time would tell...
"Wait, it's been a week, it only felt like a few hours... Thalia is going to be so confused."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a blast.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
