We arrive back at the house and see the teens awake.

"How was your night?" I ask them.

"It was good, kids are both down," Rebekah says.

"Thank you. Bath time went well I assume." I say.

"Yeah, bathroom got a little wet when we were having fun. Nothing that couldn't be cleaned after," Rebekah tells us. "What's that?"

"Cupcakes," Nik tells them. I open it and they all crowd over, eating them.

"You stopped at a bakery?" Kol asks in between bites.

Nik sies at me as that thought.

"No, I made them," I say with my own smile.

"Are you sure? Those seem professionally done." Kol pushes.

"Yes, I am," I reply.

"They are very good, Tyra," Rebekah comments.

"I missed your baking, mom," James tells me as he practically inhales his cupcake.

"You missed her baking?" Nik questions.

"Yeah, she stopped baking sweet treats when she was about eight months along with Freya," James explains.

I set Kol and Rebekah up in the spare rooms so no one has to drive home this late. Nik and I just share.

James's POV

Monday seems to come quickly. Mom drops Bekah, Kol, and I off at the door of the school. She told us that Nik needed to leave. He left Kol and Bekah at our place, making it easier to get them to school. I run into a guy on my way to history class.

"Shit, sorry man," I say.

"All good. You new?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm James." I introduce shaking his hand.

"I'm Jeremy. What class you got?" Jeremy asks.

"History. You?" I ask.

"Me too. I can take you," he says.

We walk to history class. I take a seat beside him. The teacher. Alaric start to tell us about the civil war. I just draw in my notebook till the bell rings.

"Those are good," I hear from above me. I look up and it's Jeremy.

"Uh… Thanks. I guess." I say nervously.

I wonder around over lunch and see a blonde guy talking to himself, in what I have heard called the stoners pit. I then walk into the washroom and see Jeremy walking to himself as well.

"What is with everyone talking to themselves?" I ask out loud not realizing he is paying attention to me.

"Um… I can see ghosts." He tells me.

"Your telling me this easily because?" I question raising one eyebrow.

"I heard your Klaus's girlfriend's son," Jeremy like it explains everything.

"Great. Is that gonna be my image here?" I ask.

"No, but I thought you would know about the supernatural." Jeremy finally explains.

"Yeah, I do. My mom rescued me from being killed with my parents. She protected me. Thor when he was born helped. He has a natural cloaking ability. He cloaks the people closest to him subconsciously. So, he protects me and doesn't even know it." I tell him.

Leaving out that I'm a witch and that Thor and Freya are also witches. I wanted to leave some stuff out to see if he is trustworthy.

"My girlfriend told me that there is nothing but darkness around her." Jeremy says. "Do you know what that means?"

"I have a question for you. Did you die and then get brought back?" I ask him, ignoring his question.

I look at him hoping he understands the gravity of the situation.

"Yeah, so was Matt," he replies clearly not understanding.

"Is she just bringing everyone back from the dead?" I ask frustrated. "You can bring people back from the dead, but if you try to do it without a trade it's very dark magic and dangerous. For instance, if I were to take a killer and offer it for a more innocent soul that would be an accepted trade and the magic would be condoned. A soul for a soul," I explain.

"But because Bonnie never traded anything she could get hurt." He says the gravity of the situation dawning on him.

"Magic will always take what they are owed if you don't offer it. It will take what it wants now." I say. "There is one way to do it without a sacrifice and from what I have been told it takes a lot of magic, practice, and knowledge. Only one original has this."

"Klaus?" Jeremy asks.

"No, Kol." I say "So if this girlfriend of yours is saying what's right about Matt's sister she is into some dark stuff and her idea of dark magic is very screwed up. If she's saying Tyra is surrounded by dark, then she's lying. She can't sense that if she is playing in dark magic. She would be attracted to it. Not turning against it. I would stay as far away as I could, or you could easily get hurt in the crossfire."

"Bonnie never said it was dark. My girlfriend did tell me I need to stay away from Bonnie," he says with a sigh.

"Sometimes you have to let people make their own graves," I tell him. "What's your girlfriends name?"

"Anna," he says. "She was a vampire."

"I'm sorry about your loss," I say.

"You too," he replies.

"We should head to class," I say.

"You actually go to class?" He asks shocked.

"Yes, my mom says I have to, or I will be pulled out and home schooled, and I won't like it," I tell him laughing

"I guess thar makes sense," he says as we walk to class.

After class I ask Jeremy if he wants to come to my place.

"I heard the ripper's still in town." I say.

"Yeah, he apparently has to watch my sister," Jeremy tells me.

"Your sister is the doppelganger?" I ask.

"Adopted sister, yeah," he says.

"Ahh. Okay," I reply.

"I heard Rebekah was left behind, in town to watch Tyler, Klaus's new asset," he says.

"No, that's untrue. She offered to stay behind as my place. If your kind to the original family they will be kind back," I say," They aren't that bad,"

"Klaus tried to kill my sister," he says.

"Elijah had an elixir to help her survive had she taken that he would have left it. But the Salvatore's tried to kill him multiple times and still are," I point out.

Stefan getting complused," he says,

"Didn't Klaus give his brother him blood to save his life. Then, he took Stefan at his word for two months till he found out he had been used and lied to," I point out again.

"Okay, you win. You know a lot," he says.

"I do. My mom asked a lot then told me. She says honesty and openness is important," I tell him.

"I wish I had someone like that," he says.

"Ask my mom, she's a mom. So, she gets having to protect, but knowing as much as she does, she makes it age-appropriate information. Like for instance Thor knows the big picture of things going on but doesn't know about killing people have done," I explain to him.

"I think I would like that," Jeremy says.

We walk past Tyler.

"What are you doing with that punk, James?" Tyler asks me.

"I like him. He's my friend," I say.

"Alright, but if he tries to hurt you. I'll rip his heart out," he says threateningly.

"Thanks Ty, but I think I'm good," I say as we walk away.

"Thanks, him and I haven't seen eye to eye since Vicki," he says.

"It's all good. I think Bekah is taking me home today," I say as car pulls up and the passenger window rolls down. I see Kol driving. "When did you go home?"

"Tyra picked me up and taught me how to drive. Then we went to go pick up the car. Moving on, it's wrong that Bekah is picking you up today. Baby Gilbert joining up tonight?" Kol asks.

"If that's okay, yeah," I say.

"Sure, it's fine by me, but it's not my choice. It's Tyra's." he says we both get in the car.

I sit in the passenger seat, him in the back seat.

"Nice car," Jeremy tells Kol.

"Thanks, Tyra helped me get it." He replies. We speed off to my place.

Arriving, I see Stefan the ripper sitting in the lazy boy with Bekah and Tyler.

"Why are you here?" I ask feeling my magic crackling under my skin ready to protect my mom.

"Relax, James. I'm not here to hurt your younger siblings or your mom. I'm here to update your mom. I wouldn't hurt you or your family." Stefan says with hands up. In that moment I knew Nik compelled him not to hurt us or else we would be in pieces. I know that I decided to stay downstairs to keep watch.

"Oh James, your home. Who's this?" my mom asks me while holding Freya.

"This is Jeremy Gilbert," I introduce. "Jeremy this is my mom, Tyra."

"Hello Jeremy," she says then turns to Kol. "Weren't you supposed to pick someone else up?" Kol's eyes get wide, then he bolts out the door, mom laughs.

"What did he forget?" Jeremy asks.

"My little brother, Thor. He's at daycare," I say.

"There's a party tonight. I think James should stay home," Stefan tells my mom.

"And I think I'm his mother," Mom sasses back at him. "If James wants to go to a party he can, I won't stop him. He just has to check in every few hours." She says.

"Your mom says that or is she just saying that be cause of Stefan?" Jeremy whispers to me.

"No, she has always had that rule. Says kids who sneak out to parties are more likely to get hurt or killed then kids who don't. She would rather I tell her in case something happens," I whisper back.

"Dude your mom is awesome," he says. Rebekah, Tyler, and Stefan all leave.

I notice it's dark out they must be going to the bon fire I heard about out school.

"Would you like to go to the party?" Mom asks me.

"If you wouldn't mind sure," I reply.

"Alright, you know the rules. Jeremy, are you going as well?" She asks him.

"Yeah," he says uncertainly.

"Well, I will put you on the same rules. Text every two hours, call if you need a ride. Don't drink anything you don't open and use common sense." She says handing him her phone. "Put your number in. I will text you, so you have my number to be able to check in," he puts his number in and we head upstairs.

"Your mom is really cool with us going to the bonfire party?" Jeremy asks

"Yeah, she really is okay with it. I'm surprised that she put you under the same rules," I say. "She doesn't normally do that."

We both leave for the party.

"Anna is here," Jeremy says.

"Hi Anna," I smile and say.

"She says hi," Jeremy replies.

We both go get a bottle of beer. I open them with my magic. I see Rebekah and Stefan talking.

"Wait, I wanna hear this," I say as I do a spell to be able to listen in on their conversation.

"You alright there?" Stefan asks Rebekah.

"I thought Tyler would be here," Rebekah says.

"You're into Tyler now? That's kind of fickle," Stefan says.

"When you've willing to give me the time of day again, then we'll talk. Until then a girl has needs," Rebekah says.

Yeah, that was…. Oh, Elena is joining them getting herself a beer.

"Excuse me," Elena says.

"Elena, hi. What are you doing?" Stefan asks.

"I'm having fun, Stefan. You have a problem with that?" She questions. She then downs her whole glass.

"All right, take it easy. We both know you're kind of a lightweight," Stefan says.

"Uh-huh, really?" She asks with attitude. "You think I'm going to let a blood addict tell me how to drink?"

She then walks away, and Stefan and Bekah spit up. I cancel the spell.

"So, what did you find out?" Jeremy asks.

"Elena's got a babysitter in Stefan and Tyler has one in Bekah, but we already knew that, but did you know Bekah and Stefan had a relationship before hand?" I ask.

"What?" He exclaims. "Your joking,"

"Nope, from what I understood that is the case," I say.

Jeremy and I start walking the halts. Bonnie joins us. They start talking about the Vicki situation. I can tell Bonnie doesn't like Anna.

"Did you talk to Anna about this?" Bonnie asks.

"She's on the other side Bonnie. Okay I thought. She might know something," Jeremy explains.

"About what?" Bonnie asks, "I thought they were all alone over there,"

"Some how Vicki's been communicating with some super strong witch," Jeremy says.

"If there's another witch involved, don't you think you should have come to me before you went to Anna?" Bonnie asks, upset. Not that she has a right to be. She doesn't have a monopoly of all her friends and magic.

"Not now, Anna." Jeremy says out loud.

"She's here?" Bonnie asks shocked,

"She's just trying to help," Jeremy tries to tell Bonnie.

"I can't…. I can't deal with this right now," Bonnie says as she walks away.

"Bonnie!" Jeremy calls after her.

"Matt's trying to resurrect his dead sister. I think I'll go deal with that instead," Bonnie says dismissing him.

"I think you should take a step back, Jeremy." I say. "I know toy want to help but let Bonnie clean up the mess she has made."

"You really think I should do that?" Jeremy asks destressed.

"I think if a lot of people mind their own business in this town lots of deaths could have been prevented." I say. "But it seems this town doesn't understand that and needs to be a part of everyone's business."

I get a text.
