Hello there. I heard FF will be shut down. Is it true? I guess I don't keep up with the news since am always busy with my work. I hope you enjoyed the previous chapter with a lot of twists in the story and here now is chapter three.

Ji Hoo headed to his class after sending Jan Di off to her classes. He was having a physics lecture and despised that course unit so much, but he despised it, even more, when someone got in between Jan Di and him. He didn't care if Kim Nari was his friend or not, but Jan Di was more than a friend to him. She meant the world to him and her opinions of him mattered more than anyone. Why did she have to get involved?

Being near Geum Jan Di had a soothing effect on him. It always made his heart race but in a good way. When she is happy, he is twice as happy, and when she is upset, he is ten times very upset. Jan Di had already filled the emptiness in his heart when Kim Nari entered his life. He didn't feel lonely anymore, and everything about him and Jan Di seemed perfect until Nari opened her big mouth. She had ruined his little respect for her, and he prayed he didn't have to see her anymore but not seeing her wouldn't solve anything. He needed to talk to her and make it clear to her to stay out of his relationship with Jan Di.

Ji Hoo awoke from his nightmare and sat alone on his bed, heavy breathing. He'd been having reoccurring nightmares about his car accident since before his grandfather abandoned him and his parents died, leaving him with just Secretary Park and servants in the big home. A place that once had fond memories. It was very cold and desolate until Jan Di appeared one night. It had been pouring heavily outside, and he had marveled how a four-year-old girl could walk in such conditions. He had brought her to his room and given her a towel and a change of clothes while chastising her for being careless.

"I'm sorry, Oppa," she said quietly. "I was worried you were in pain. That is why, as promised, I am here. "I want to take care of you."

"OK, Jan Di-ah, I forgive you, but you must never cause yourself harm again. Promise?" He gave her the pinkie finger.

Jan Di smiled and offered her pinkie to him. "I promise," she said.

They then proceeded to embrace one other. "When we grow up, I should marry you," Ji Hoo stated.

Jan Di, being foolish and immature, had no idea what it meant. "What do you mean?" she questioned as she pulled away from him.

Ji Hoo then invited Jan Di to join him on his King-sized bed. He pushed open the blankets, and she slipped in next to him

"OK"

Present...

The F4 Class...

Ji Hoo entered his physics lecture, and Nari welcomed him immediately, his expression was emotionless.

"Good morning, Ji Hoo-ah, what have you been up to this morning?" She inquired sweetly of him.

He gulped hard, trying to hold his rage at bay. "I was asleep," he said blankly, walking to his seat.

Woo Bin scowled somewhat at Ji Hoo's icy demeanor toward Nari. He turned to face Nari, who was wearing a sad expression. As though she had been wronged by her lover. Woo Bin didn't understand why Nari kept on hurting herself just to get Ji Hoo's attention.

'Is this what it means to love someone?'

Later, the physics lecturer entered the room. He began lecturing, but Ji Hoo was not paying attention the entire time. He made the decision to do something wonderful because Min Seo Hyun was returning in a few days. He gave Nari, who was paying intently, one more look before opening the back of his book. He took out his art pencil and started drawing Min Seo Hyun's face, but instead of sketching her, he ended up drawing Jan Di's face, her beautiful smile, and her doe eyes. He smirked at his lack of attendance and drew a finger across the sketch he had made.

'How come she's the only girl I can draw?' he wondered.

"Is it because I promised her, we'd marry when we grew up?!' He continued to wonder.

F4 Lounge...

Ji Hoo had kept his temper under control since their morning lectures. He couldn't wait to tell Nari about why she told Jan Di about his connection with the F4. So, once the lecturer had left the room, the group went to the Lounge to relax before lunch.

"Nari, who gave you the right to inform Jan Di that I am a member of F4" He inquired as calmly as he could once they were out of any prying eyes.

Nari gulped and averted her gaze, feeling terrible. She had been jealous that she wanted to ruin his friendship with the commoner but she didn't expect Ji Hoo to treasure that girl more than her.

"I'm sorry, but she appeared to be stupid—"

"Be careful what you say." Ji Hoo said in a menacing tone while pointing at her with his forefinger. "Jan Di is my best friend. You have no right to make fun of her."

Woo Bin decided to speak up. "Nari didn't intend to do or say anything like that. She was merely amazed that you had a friend who doesn't know you or us."

Ji Hoo looked back at Woo Bin, pondering what he had just spoken. "So, what exactly does that mean?"

"What I mean is...if she was your friend, she should know of your status, and besides, she is a commoner—" Woo Bin was interrupted by a punch in his face and found himself on the ground with Nari kneeling before him helping him to stand. It was his first time to get a taste of the Golden Boy's punch. It was so painful that he feared his face would be swollen in the next few minutes.

"Yah!" Jun Pyo exclaimed. "Are we going to fight over that thing"

"Whom are you calling a thing?" Ji Hoo yelled glaring daggers at his best friend. "She is my friend; I wouldn't be here if it weren't for her and also, she means a lot to me more than any of you" after speaking he glared at them and walked off.

"What the hell?" Yi Jeong commented and with the look Jun Pyo had, he felt someone was going to receive a Red Card.

'But who? Ji Hoo or Geum Jan Di?'

...

The following day...

Jan Di entered school with trepidation after Secretary Park dropped her off. She felt nervous for reasons she didn't comprehend. Nari had previously accused her of being the only cause of Ji Hoo and Woo Bin's argument. She had referred to her as a pain or curse in Ji Hoo's life, but fortunately, she understood how to defend herself from such a harsh person. She had remained silent because she was also Ji Hoo's friend. Although her silence was misinterpreted as disdain as Nari pulled her hair.

She had snarled like an enraged lion and shoved her onto the table with her dish on it. Food had poured down on her and that's when Jun Pyo and his group came in.

The school was unusually quiet and when she reached the hallway, she found it strange that everyone seemed to be looking at her but she ignored them and walked to her locker. She opened it and began to remove her books but as she was closing it, the red card with a golden skull and arrows piercing through and an initial 'F4' on it caught her attention.

"Oh...my...God! Geum Jan Di of 2nd-grade class 3B has a Red Card" A student exclaimed and ran off to the class

Ji Hoo was sleeping on the stairwell that had grown special to him. He heard a bell ringing at an unusually early hour. It wasn't even recessed yet, and the bell was ringing. Then his heart pounded as he realized another student had received a red card. Then Geum Jan Di flashed across his head. He remembered her confrontation with Nari the day before. Gu Jun Pyo exploited a little altercation instigated by Nari as an excuse to assault Jan Di because she defended herself.

"Jan Di-ah," he exclaimed in fear before fleeing. He rushed out of the stairwell as quickly as his feet could carry him. Anyone in the vicinity may have called him insane. He rushed down the hallway that leads to her class and there she was on the floor, covered in eggs, flour, rotten tomatoes and a tin of fire extinguisher lay open next to her and gas coming out of it. Students that surrounded her were laughing and one of the boys had opened her skirt, taking pictures of her thighs and underwear.

"Jan Di-ah," he shouted and rushed to her, pushing the boy away. He knelt before her, took her in his arms, and embraced her tightly. He began stroking her hair while tears slipped out of his eyes. He then rose with Jan Di still in his arms. He faced the boy who was taking pictures of her and recording everything. Ji Hoo glared coldly at him before taking his camera and smashing it into pieces. He then lifted Jan Di into his arms before facing another camera with tears in his eyes.

'Gu Jun Pyo, I will make you pay for hurting her, I promise you that and he was gone.

"Are we playing soccer or something? Red card my ass" she said and watched the group of students run away she turned to get the stupid card and threw it down and stepped on it and after that, she tore it and threw it in the trash can. She walked into her class and noticed how everyone grew silent as they noticed her. Her desk was not there and looked around in confusion.

Ginger, Miranda, and Sunny walked up to her with fake concern "Geum Jan Di, how can you study without a desk?" they asked as though it was the greatest question of all time. "How can we study with a commoner with no desk?" Ginger said and then Sunny chimed in, "Why did you come to school"

Jan Di ignored them and looked around the class before noticing her book. She walked to take it but it had insulting words on it. "You, commoner, go and die, you don't deserve to be here, you're in the wrong place." Before reaching for it, she looked around at her classmates. However, it slid from her grip, and no matter how hard she tried, it crept further away.

In the middle of class, her book directed her to her desk. She also found unpleasant remarks and many curses on her desk. "Who was responsible for this? If you have anything to say, come and say it in my face," she said fiercely.

Suddenly, flour fell from the sky onto her head, and everyone began laughing and hurling eggs at her face, uniform, and hair.

"Do you want more?" The boys shouted at her, laughing and calling her a curse and warning her not to mess with F4.

"Surrender," they all screamed at the same time.

"Please bring some cooking oil with you. All that remains are for us to cook her." Everyone kept on laughing. She attempted to flee class, but a rotten tomato landed on her head, followed by another and another, and all she knew she was breathing gas from a fire extinguisher and everything went dark.

Yoon Residence

"Jan Di-ah, I'm sorry," Ji Hoo murmured, staring at the sleeping girl in his bed. "I could have protected you better, but those who did this to you will pay," he continued fiercely before kissing her cheek as tears continued to wail in his eyes.

It had been nearly two hours since the doctor had checked on Jan Di. He had examined her and informed him that she was all right but that she needed to rest for 72 hours without going anywhere.

His maids had looked after her well. They had given her a nice bath and dressed her comfortably in his big nightshirt.

Ji Hoo was still looking at Jan Di's sleeping body, appreciating her, the girl he grew up with. She had become more beautiful than he had imagined. She'd always made a point of criticizing herself for not being clever, beautiful, or from a wealthy family ever since they were young. He'd always disagreed with her. He'd liked her from the start, despite the fact that she didn't come from a wealthy family. He'd always thought she was brave, clever, and very adorable. He wasn't sure why he hadn't told her that before. Oh, he'd attempted to compliment her once or twice, which normally won't happen, but he kept his mouth shut. He assumed that was because he didn't consider it his place but it was his place to compliment her since he promised to marry her.

He gazed down at her injured face, the face of the one girl he loved in this world but didn't realize it. He softly placed a finger to her lips, hoping she wouldn't wake up. She twitched slightly but remained sound asleep. He stroked her lips tenderly with his finger. He ached to kiss her for reasons he couldn't articulate, but he would wait until he figured out why.

Looking down, he reflected on his behavior at school. Had he gone too far? It was unusual for him to lose his cool so completely and cause such a commotion in public. That was something he'd always avoided. That, and human contact in general. But when it came to Jan Di, he was shocked by what he was capable of and the lengths he would go to for her. He attempted to convince himself that he was only defending his best friend from some jerk, but he knew it was a lie. He was protecting her for his own sake. And he couldn't deny that he had a nervous breakdown when he saw that jerk touch her or snap a photo of her thighs. He desired to be the only one who touched her, to feel her smooth skin against his fingertips.

'Yoon Ji Hoo, stop thinking that way.' He chided himself, 'She's only your adopted sister.'

He returned his glance to her. He bent down gently, clutching the bed securely, and put his lips to her cheek. He then stood up and drew up a chair. As he sat next to her, he crossed his arms and continued gazing at her.

"Ji Hoo," which was followed by a knock on the front door.

Ji Hoo was aware that his friends had arrived. He wasn't in the mood to deal with them, and he didn't want to see them either. They yelled again, "Ji Hoo-ah," and he groaned angrily.

"What do they want now?" He grumbled annoyed. He made his way to the front door. He saw all four of his friends. He rolled his eyes subtly and opened the door for them.

"How come you changed your house's key code?" Jun Pyo inquired as he clutched on the door. He had seen Ji Hoo carry Jan Di away from the class. He had been angry at him and what had brought him to his house was to persuade him to hand over Jan Di to offer an apology to Kim Nari.

He rolled his eyes once more, and this time they noticed. "What do you want?" he questioned sharply instead.

"That commoner—" Jun Pyo cut himself short as he saw Ji Hoo shut the door at the utterance of the word "commoner."

"If you can't respect my friend, then just go," he said flatly "You are not welcome here anymore"

"Ji Hoo-ah" Woo Bin called him. He understood where he was coming from because if anything had happened to Nari like what happened to Jan Di, he would have reacted the same way. He would have made the people who hurt her pay more than pay. He would have wanted to kill them.

"What?" he said coldly

"We've been friends for almost all our lives, can we please talk about this?"

"Yes, Ji Hoo-ah, let's not ruin what we have because of her..." Nari chimed in, earning her a glare. She was wrong, the F4 hadn't known her for so long but they kept in touch with her especially Woo Bin while Ji Hoo was distant and the only girl, he was close with is Min Seo Hyun but she didn't know Geum Jan Di was that important to him since she had never met her.

"And who said I hadn't known you long enough to risk losing you for her?" He fired back at her. "I wouldn't be standing here if I had done something to you." I would have seen my parents again. Woo Bin would have murdered me."

"Ji Hoo—" she mumbled; her face flushed at what he had spoken to her. She couldn't figure out what Jan Di, a commoner, had that she didn't. Ji Hoo paid a lot of attention to her. What did she have that she didn't? He had even ignored her when she spotted him in the woods playing his violin the day before, but when Jan Di showed up there, he grinned brightly and embraced her as if they were lovers who hadn't seen one other in years. other for a long time. And from what she had learned from Woo Bin, he had told her that she had grown up with him but didn't study at the same school.

"Young master," one of Ji Hoo's servants ran to the door. She bowed to the others before turning to face Ji Hoo. "Young mistress is awake," she remarked, smiling. All of his servants treated Jan Di with respect, and she was always given extra attention and care whenever she came over to visit him.

Ji Hoo smiled and went straight to his bedroom, forgetting about the door and his friends. He entered the room to find the other maids offering her water and stroking her hair. "Otter, you're awake," he said cheerfully.

"Oppa," she said quietly.

He then ordered that the maids leave. When they were gone, he sat at the edge of the bed and brought her into his arms, placing her head on his chest. He kissed her forehead and muttered, "I'm sorry," holding her firmly but tenderly. "I should have protected you better," he added, unaware that his friends were observing what was going on behind him.

"I'm all right, Oppa, thank you for saving me in time," she said, breaking away from his embrace. With her doe-eyes, she looked up into his sorrowful gaze. "Don't be worried, Ji Hoo."

"How could I not be worried?" he said softly. "My friends almost killed you; I almost lost you," he murmured more softly as he moved in to kiss her nose.

"But you will never lose me," she said, kissing his cheek. "I promised you earlier that I would never leave you," she continued.

"But you almost died—" he began, his eyes welling up with sorrow.

The four friends watched their reunion as though they had been apart for years, and from what they could tell, Ji Hoo genuinely cared about Jan Di more than them. Seeing him express his love for someone other than Min Seo Hyun was unusual. What made Jan Di so much more special to him than the others?

Jun Pyo cleared his throat to draw their attention since he was becoming angry by his best friend's treatment of the commoner to whom he had just given a red card. He didn't like the look of it, and he couldn't figure out why it bothered him so much. He returned his gaze to his friends, who were also bewildered. "Ji Hoo, why are you holding the girl to whom I handed a red card?" he questioned.

"Who invited you into my home?" Furthermore, in my bedroom," he said, disregarding his question while still clutching Jan Di in his arms.

Jun Pyo grumbled quietly. All he wanted was for Ji Hoo to let go of the commoner. "How come she's in your house and your bed and we can't?" he questioned. "Do you believe it will make Seo Hyun Noona happy?"

"And who said I wasn't happy about it?" another voice spoke up with brilliance in her voice

Everyone in the room turned to face her, and there she was, as stunning as ever.

"Min Seo Hyun," they said in unison.

"Jan Di-ah, Oppa," another girl raced into the room, pushing against Yi Jeong and rushing to Ji Hoo's side. "What happened to Jan Di-ah, Oppa, and Unnie?" she inquired.

"And what is your name?" Yi Jeong inquired, his gaze drawn to the intruder. "How can you storm into this room, knock me down, and then refuse to apologize?"

"My name is Chu Ga Eul, and my best friends are Jan Di-ah, Unnie, and Oppa," she said defensively.

'Another commoner? Intresting'
