I've decided to write some more LOTR poetry following the success of my last one. This is, again, not about a specific character, but instead allows you to place whoever you wish in the role. I guess this could be a companion piece to 'I Wish', but this works fine on its own. Enjoy!
And darkness settles all around,
The blood from bodies on the ground,
While children scream,
With women's cries,
I do not dare open my eyes,
In dread of what I just might see,
I pray mutely, for them, for me,
That life may become lighter soon,
For all who dream under the Moon,
And under Sun, whose golden rays,
Have shone out through those better days,
Days I pray to see again,
For winter frost and springtime rain,
When all will be alright once more,
And laughter rings out, children for,
To escape from these darker times,
From Golden Wood to Moria's Mines,
And Sauron's Eye shall be overcome,
We shall again see our bright Sun,
The Hobbit will rise from the gloom,
And bring about the Dark Lord's doom,
The golden Ring will be destroyed,
A bitter fate Light will avoid,
This cannot be just hope and dream,
Yet so very far away it seems,
For now we must all stand together,
Through lighter times or stormy weather,
We won't let darkness conquer all,
We cannot let our spirits fall,
Though blood now trickles to the ground,
The stars emerge without a sound,
A light, some hope for those with none,
In these times shall great deeds be done,
These days become aged tales to tell
And we shall weep for those who fell...
There we go! I don't think it's quite as long as my last poem, but I liked it none the less! Please R+R and tell me what you think! ^_^
