The sun shone brightly inside a classic Japanese room. A large bed in the middle was atop the floor filled with tatami mats. On that bed was Ayaka sleeping with visible discomfort.
"Haaaa!"
She wakes up clutching her heart, another nightmare she feels like - Ayaka wasn't sure anymore. Her heart races, even more, when she looks around the room.
"I'm… back?" Her room was how she thought she left them. At least that was what she thinks. It was vague, like a sense of deja vu but even more confusing.
"It can't be…" Ayaka rushes to the front door she always remembers by heart. She ignored the guards that saw her rushing out of the estate with only her nightwear.
"Milady?" a man's voice caught her attention. Her eyes jittered and darted around. She realizes who spoke to her in such a recognizable tone.
"...Thoma?" her voice shook.
Thoma seemingly doesn't notice the unusual panic in her voice or the fact she was not wearing her day clothes.
"It's good that you are awake. You were so excited about telling me about your expected visit to Watatsumi Island with the traveler, I would've thought you would wake up early than ever."
"The Traveler?" right as she said that. The Traveler and Paimon, his companion in their travels, came from the entrance of the Kamisato estate.
She didn't know what to think, was she really back to Teyvat after all this time? Ayaka's hands shiver from the thought.
Her eyes widened to utter astonishment. 'I'm supposed to be at the USJ, the last thing I remember was-'
Paimon floated nearby and gave a little wave. "Hi there! We've been waiting for you to arrive at the entrance. It's pretty rare of you to be late."
Ayaka had more confusion brewing from within. 'Late? For what? What's going on here?' despite being visibly shaken it didn't look like anyone even noticed.
"Traveler?" she notices his eyes, along with everyone there pausing and just looking back. It was unnerving even for Ayaka. 'Something is not right.'
She pauses "I'm not really back am I?" Ayaka saw everyone stiffen, the wind die down and the sound cease. It was an eerie silence that was only filled by the repeated beats of her heart.
"It's all your fault."
Ayaka steps back, the echoes of that phrase repeating over and over. From the guards to even the small animals on the treetops, they all uttered-
"It's all your fault."
Her breath hitches as the world she saw suddenly melted, like wax on a lit candle. Their skin slowly slipped away revealing the gruesome image beneath, the building scraped off and the grass withering around her.
Their eyes rolled back to their heads as Ayaka shut her own. She tries to step back, even more, only to trip as she huddled down and crouched to the floor.
She heard them approach.
'Please...'
Closer.
'No...'
and Closer.
"It's all your fault." They whispered.
"No!"
"Kamisato! Hey! Wake up!" Eijiro and Shoto flanked her sides while she was in a private hospital bed. Grabbing unto her arms and shoulders while she slowly opens her eyes.
Ragged and drenched in a cold sweat, Ayaka tries calming down but her heart won't let it. She began to dart her eyes around the room, unsure if it was even real at this point.
Eijiro lets go and place a hand over Ayaka's back and pats lightly. "Stay calm, just take a deep breath. Don't focus on whatever you saw. You're not in any danger."
Her breath doesn't listen, pure shock and the nightmarish vision that only she could remember. A glimpse into what she wanted but it was nothing more than a ruse.
She couldn't stop - she felt like the air in her chest was seizing up like it was being held down by something while a 1000 kg weight was resting inside.
"Get out of the way, moron!" Katsuki sees it not working before prying Eijiro away. "Prepare yourself, Princess. It's going to hurt like hell when I do this."
He hefts her by the collar, her outfit still on after the battle. She gets lifted up before Katsuki cocks back his head and impacts a solid headbutt to her head. A bruised form as she gets rocked back from the impact.
"Bakugo! What was that for-"
"Shut it. Icy Hot, make ice and place it somewhere. Also, hand me a small one that can fit in her mouth."
Shoto began producing ice before placing it on Ayaka's arms and legs, it soaked the sheets but no one seemed to care. Katsuki grabs a small piece before shoving it inside her mouth.
The cold was supposed to be painful but it had a purpose. "Where do you think we are, Frosty?" Katsuki asked. "Do you feel those? It should've made you realize we're not a fucking illusion."
Ayaka only felt the dampness but not the temperature, her naturally incredibly high resistance to cold didn't make it obvious what she was supposed to feel.
"...I don't feel cold, Bakugo."
An awkward stare began as Katsuki's angry face formed into a confused look before it came back to unending fury. "Shit! I forgot you couldn't feel negative temperatures!"
Shoto had a neutral face on before notifying Katsuki of his thoughts. "I mean, you should've known that. You saw her during the fight, Bakugo."
He goes over to the bed and lifted Shoto's collar and shook him. "Why didn't you tell me anything then, bastard?!"
"You were adamant about making me create ice. I didn't want to waste time."
A staredown ensued with the two seemingly opposite reactions. Katsuki was ready to throw hands at Shoto but Shoto still had a blank expression on his face.
"...That doesn't even make any sense!" Katsuki finally screams.
Eijiro came to drag Katsuki out like a pet owner and made him relax. "Chill out man. It still worked." He pointed to Ayaka who had a small smile on her face. "Somehow," he admits.
"By the way, how'd you know that was supposed to work? Aside from not remembering her Quirk made her virtually immune to cold." Eijiro asked.
"You idiots heard her screaming out no. Just telling her it's fine isn't enough when she wakes up. Pain is always a good way to tell, the ice was supposed to assure her she's not in a nightmare anymore."
They all kept their eyes on Katsuki as he walked back to his seat. "What are you fucking looking at?!"
"Man, it feels weird knowing Bakugo can actually be a real human," Eijiro mentions to Shoto who nodded.
"I heard that!"
Eijiro laughs but turns back to Ayaka who was doing much better. "You okay? The doctor said you pretty much shouldn't be able to move around for almost the entire day."
"I'm alright, I appreciate the help. What happened while I was out?" she tries getting up but her body didn't respond. It was true that she couldn't even move when she tried.
"Just lie down. Let's see - after that whole incident, we were ushered back to class. Aside from Aizawa, Midoriya, and you, everyone else was fine. The police took in the Villains including the one we captured when you uhhh... lost control."
Ayaka felt guilty, she didn't know what went through her during Blizzard Strayer. All she remembered was seeing All Might and Izuku about to get killed. After that, when she sliced a good chunk of Izuku's arm - she came back to being aware of her actions.
"Where is All Might?"
"He stayed in the nurse's office. All Might was fine after the fight, he even advised every single one of us before heading with Midoriya. Oh, and he asked us to all stay here."
*Knock!* *Knock!*
"I'll get it," Shoto uttered. He walked to the door and opened it wide for familiar faces to enter the room.
"Ah, she's awake. I suppose you all can talk before we ask questions for Kamisato here." A cat policeman was at the front before he moves out of the way for Izuku, All Might, and Naomasa to sit all across the room.
"Thank you for the service, officer. You can head back to the car, I'll be on my way after I get her statement. Oh, and place the case right on the bed."
The officer places a case in front of Ayaka before saluting Naomasa who returns the gesture.
"Of course. I'll be waiting at the front. I don't like sitting in the police car. Too stuffy, in my opinion." the officer exits the room before closing the door.
Naomasa took off his hat before approaching Ayaka who was still bedridden by exhaustion. "I'll be right outside, I believe you owe everyone here an explanation. Since all of you were part of another incident, I see that it's be better if only you explain. It's up to them to do with that information onwards."
Naomasa also takes his leave after a short explanation, the door once again opens and closes before silence dominated the ambient noise of the room.
All Might was still in his muscle form. Considering he had a few beatings to his old wound, he had kept a good amount of time still available to him.
During the bombing of Ayaka's apartment, he saw to it to try and limit his hero work for maybe just a little bit. He blamed himself for not being able to at least foresee and directly ask for Ayaka's problems.
He wanted to save his time so that any one of his students, especially Ayaka could still receive his help when need be.
During his fight he held that desire to save his time, not risking losing a lot of it in beating the Nomu. It was a stalemate up until Izuku was threatened.
He didn't like that the hypocrisy of saving his time to rescue his students when the time comes, only to fall short of actually fulfilling that when he had grown too confident of his time.
He hadn't lost any time from the beginning, so he was confident he could beat the Nomu without sacrificing more of his time. What resulted from the fight was his regret for not beating the Nomu sooner than he needed to.
All Might stood from his seat to address Ayaka. "Ayaka, please. I'm begging you - what happened back there? Tell me what's been troubling you and please... tell me what this is."
The case gets opened and inside rested the Delusion in a faint and dull color. Ayaka resolved to finally tell them. She promised herself that, even though she still feared letting them involved.
"...It's called a Delusion, All Might. An artifact not native to this world, maybe even the universe. It's made from the remnants of Gods long killed from eons of war and conflict. Its power was harvested by the Fatui and molded into an object that could rule over the elements."
It was a lot to take in, with many having a different reaction. Ayaka wasn't even certain if anyone would take her word. "...Not native? Gods? Fatui? Elements? What do you mean Ayaka?"
Here it came, the question that would finally make or break her predictions. Would they even understand what she wants to tell? She wasn't sure but she wasn't going to stop now.
"I am not from this world, All Might."
Katsuki stood up with a heavy stomp "What kind of bullshit is that-"
"Young Bakugo, stop. Let her explain herself, it sure is a lot to take in but know that I'm still going to accept you, Ayaka. Don't think we are here to ridicule you or make you uncomfortable. Tell us at whatever pace you need."
"I came from Teyvat, a completely different world to this one. The apartment I lived in was where I first woke up in. I didn't know how or remember anything beforehand."
"Will you tell us of this world?"
"...I will."
What followed was an almost in-depth retelling of the short history of Teyvat. Up to her details on the Gods, the Elements, how the nations came to be, and most importantly her life beforehand. Everything about Teyvat was told through the lens of Ayaka's experience.
"-That's all I can tell in such a short time. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you more since my knowledge outside of Inazuma is lacking. I've always wanted to visit the other nation but I never had the chance to because of my duties."
All Might was silent, processing everything Ayaka told them all. "Ayaka, you must have loved living there right? For you to know so much about your own country, down to the people you administrate and look out for. All these people you have fond memories of. Your family must be proud of you."
All Might stood up and went to her bedside, he makes her sit up and embraced her tightly. "You miss them, don't you? You miss everything there, not only did you lose your family and friends. You lost everything you had. I can't say much myself but, loss is indeed painful. Even I had a tough time adjusting to my master's death. I can't think how much you've been suffering knowing you don't have anyone left, not even the world you previously had."
She could do nothing else because of her exhaustion but cry. She let out the floodgates as she came to terms with that she finally told them about her life. It was like a massive weight finally got removed, her burden finally releasing a bit.
Ayaka almost let out a hiccup from the release of her emotions. "I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you. I didn't want to make all of you bear my problems. I didn't want to include you in all of this."
"It's okay, Ayaka. Let it all out, I believe everyone now deserves an elaboration on what this is." All Might let's go and rest her back on her pillow. "I won't touch it since you said it back then. I recall these Fatui people made them is that correct?"
Ayaka tried to force her arms to wipe off the mess in her eyes. Streams of tears kept coming out and she didn't know how to deal with them. "The reason why is because Delusions usually have very adverse effects on people without Visions."
She continues. "Allogenes, are what they call Vision holders. Those same 7 Gods pick who is worthy of a Vision, therefore having a chance to ascend to godhood. It's why we are the only ones capable of wielding it. The Fatui is an exception, from the moment they join - they are trained to handle the drawbacks or keep them to a minimum through more technology or something else, they are secretive in their processes."
"But there are still some that don't receive those effects. Powerful members of the Fatui have the chance to receive a Delusion so well-made it could often replace Visions. Though, usually - only Allogenes are the only possible option for the Tsaritsa to pick due to them being able to possess more than two elements."
All Might nodded, he stared intensely at Ayaka who was nervous as ever to know how they would react. "Ayaka," he said simply.
He takes the case and lifts it toward Ayaka and tilts it enough for her to see. Right after, he grabs the sheets and uses them to hand over the Delusion, placing them near her as he walks back from a surprised Ayaka.
"All Might! Why-"
"You regret everything, don't you?"
"I do but-"
"Stop." All Might paused, he took a deep breath before talking. "I finally understand. If you're blaming yourself for everything, don't. I am also partly at fault for everything. If you're asking yourself why I would give it back to you - then I will answer."
"You kept everything from us and shut your problems off but not for a selfish reason, in fact, you think it's the right thing to do. You prioritize our own safety more than the stability of your conscience. Giving you this back means I am asking you one more thing in return."
"Trust us, trust me, trust everyone here. I know you mean well, that whole situation was because I didn't try hard enough to understand you. I'm supposed to be your caretaker ever since that day. This is my first step in resolving what keeps you down."
All Might stops and points to the Delusion. "This Delusion of yours took control of your emotions because you have been keeping them in for so long. I want you to train with it and master it."
"All Might..."
"It will teach you to open up. It's for you to decide to follow through with what I ask. This Fatui you talk of is plenty powerful, it sounds like you've only confronted one so far. Their numbers are still unknown but if they are individually powerful enough to almost burn down half the USJ, then learning to control and eventually make Anemo a part of your own is going to help us combat them."
The moment Ayaka was going to share her problems, not only stuck in her own world it finally left a deep smile under all her tears. She could finally act not just on her own from now on.
"Sharing your problems to not burden others is a good idea in practice but practically it doesn't hold up. Humans are always depending on others for support. To lock away yourself to hope they won't be embroiled in what you think is a personal problem is not always the right thing to do."
"We can all fight and stand up to our own. When we bleed it's because we wanted to. We do it for one another and we do it for the people we save. The essence of a Hero is to give help that's not asked for. Ayaka, believe us when everyone in this school cares and is willing to do everything to help even if you think it would be trouble for them."
Ayaka felt another round of tears coming up, she had always been the one asking others not to take on more than they could handle. She keeps telling others what she herself couldn't accept.
Dueling her brother to take on a part of his workload, helping others even to the detriment of her own time, take over duties that she doesn't have to do. All of these she does yet she won't accept someone else helping her.
She thinks more than she was troubling them, not telling everyone her own mind because she fears that she was going to offend or make anyone troubled.
Finally, someone had to say something after she had lost everything. Now, she could finally see she doesn't need to keep it all to herself anymore.
"Thank you, All Might." she had a moment of relief after everything. "Thank you, everyone."
Shoto raises his hand as if he was in the classroom. "Yes, Todoroki?" Ayaka notices him lifting his hand in the air.
"After all this talk, I've come to realize we have to slowly come to terms with it. Expect us to not instantly recognize this honestly absurd situation. Besides that, I have another concern I would like to ask."
"I would love to disclose everything from now on. At least to all of you here for now. I may reveal everything to the class eventually but I'm not sure yet."
"That's fine by me. I don't intend to spread this around but I have an important question." Shoto reiterates.
Everyone looked onward at Shoto's question. One would expect such a serious person to ask something of great importance. They all saw as Ayaka nodded and Shoto spoke.
"Are you All Might's secret love child? I heard All Might talking to you with your first name. I've heard from your story that All Might promised to be your caretaker. I don't see any resemblance so I thought it may be the case. Sorry to assume at such an emotional moment but I just had to know."
Katsuki had a vein pop from the question so obviously stupid. "Huh?! That's what you're asking? Not that Gods exist, a classmate is from another world, or that some crazy fanatics crossed over too?! Something so dumb isn't really-"
"It's true but also not true." All Might explained. Not wanting to make everything so secretive now that they all promised to talk.
Everyone dropped their jaw at the revelation but was also perplexed at the answer, except for Katsuki who was still perpetually angry. Izuku was the most vocal about it.
"All Might?! Kamisato is your daughter?! Or maybe not? This is way too confusing..." he started to mutter about genetics and how it could be possible for Ayaka to be All Might's daughter.
"Deku, you're an idiot - she just told us she's from another world. Icy Hot, you may have a decent brain but you also ask dumb questions."
"I would prefer Bakugo had put it in a better way but it's true. I technically assigned her as my daughter for her birth certificate to be made. So legally, to the world - she is in fact, my daughter. We even faked a blood test for it to be accepted."
Everyone knew trying to explain to the government that someone had come from another world. Too much to disclose and too complicated to even explain. Not to mention if it were to go public knowing that a place filled with demons, Gods, and other creatures could potentially cross over too.
"I see..." Shoto muttered. "How should this change the way I address you?"
"It won't change too much since the public would pounce on the information," Ayaka answered.
They knew what the media could do with such a story. Hawks and vultures at anything All Might be related, especially something like a secret daughter.
"We'll leave you alone for now. Recover and rest up until then, there are still classes tomorrow. Also, don't worry about everyone else. Aizawa has 3rd-degree burns but he can recover after multiple rounds of healing. We'll go and let in the officer to talk about the USJ incident itself. I've talked to Tsukauchi about it, so we're going to keep from the public your out-of-control state, including your classmates that weren't there. Knowing that a Delusion exists could leak, making you more of a target to those willing to do anything for even a chance at an ability like wind control."
"Okay..." Ayaka watched as everyone filed out of the room one by one. Saying goodbye for now to Izuku and All Might as Naomasa enters to take her statement.
"Glad to see you doing fine. Now, tell me everything about the incident from when you entered to when it all ended." Naomasa took out a pen and a notepad to take everything down as Ayaka began to recount her time in the USJ.
"Honestly, these Meta Liberation nutjobs can't stop talking about their freedom to use their Quirks. I had to sit through so much just to prove I was in for it."
"Sounds like you've had a worse time than me, Ekaterina. All I had to do was move drugs around for the Yakuza to prove I was serious. Good thing no one remembers the grunts doing boring work. At least we're done for now. It's almost been a year since we decided to move no?"
The door swings open in the unnamed location. The man who opened the door looked behind him, ensuring no one was following. A man's long unkempt hair shone under the light as he approaches the group of other Fatui members.
"Lexy! We couldn't wait since you sent that message on some random's phone." she charges for him before trying to give him a big hug.
He leaps over the woman before landing on the ground as a loud thud was heard behind him. He dusts himself off before addressing his comrades.
"I've told you to call me Aleksandr. I don't need to be part of your idiotic nicknames." He tells Ekaterina.
"Booo..."
He rolls his red eyes before sitting down nearby. "After almost a year since we broke the pact with the traitors, more like only one traitor now, we finally found where the last Delusion is. Joining up with criminals to fight Heroes was a great plan."
"Baron thought it up, he's always the one with ideas. To find a Hero you need to join the Villains. Good thing we caught that rat stalking around Yokohoma for something. Who would've known it was that easy?"
"Kustrow, don't jinx us again. I swear when you said that the first time we came here when stealing bread I would've thought you'd know to keep your mouth shut."
Kustrow nonchalantly raises his shoulder before accepting his words. "Fine. Tell us, what are we going to do now that we found where the Delusion is." he pauses. "Why haven't you taken it back if you found who has it?"
"This is the best part." Aleksandr laughed. "We aren't alone in this world. This proves Baron's theory that we could tear open a way back. The student I fought was from Teyvat."
Everyone stopped and stood still at the words. Even Ekaterina in her constant energetic state stopped. "Ohhhh? Really, Lexy?"
He clicks his tongue at the nickname. "Yes, she's even a Vision holder. When I mentioned returning, she stopped to listen. I think we may have a better chance of convincing her than Tokarev."
"Pft! As if Tokarev can do anything like convincing others. So, what do we do? If she's an Allogene then it's going to be hard to fight her unless we all work together. Even then, we're going to fight the top school. If you're having trouble then how can we do it?"
Aleksandr stood up with a confident stance as he gazed at the others. "We do what we do best." he picks up his mask on the table and smiles. "We manipulate, control, and win."
"Glory to Snezhnaya."
