Being in charge of the kitchen gave Sesshoumaru control over the weekly schedule, which meant his shift ended the moment Kagome showed up at the restaurant in the evening.

"How can I tease you if you leave as soon as she gets here?" Byakuya grumbled, grabbing a new cutting board.

"That is precisely why I do it," Sesshoumaru returned, sending out the final dish.

The pastry chef pursed his lips, then shrugged. "Whatever, doesn't stop me from getting the details from her during the day," he said, patting the phone in his pocket.

"Personal items are supposed to be left in your locker."

"My record is clean, so you can't fire me for it," Byakuya grinned. "Besides, if I didn't text her, I wouldn't be able to tell you how excited she is for your upcoming trip."

"I do not need your input to be aware of this fact."

"Because you're excited, too, right?"

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes, loosening the buttons of his chef whites. "That is irrelevant."

Byakuya crossed his arms. "Why are you excited, anyway? It's not like this is the first time you've gone on a trip together. Or even to this particular place. Wasn't it the first place you took her—" His eyes widened, and Byakuya squealed.

Sesshoumaru winced. "Must you make such outrageous noises?"

"Yes, I must! Especially with such exciting news!"

Golden eyes narrowed. "What are you on about now?"

"You're going to propose!"

Sesshoumaru's ears turned pink.
