Chapter 3
"Is resus ready?" Nikki asked
"Yes, we've all been waiting for the arrival" Harry answered. The paramedics and Harry Harper pushed the trolley through the swinging doors of resus.
"After my count, 1.2.3. LIFT" Josh shouted. They lifted Lara onto the resus bed.
"Can I have X-ray as soon as possible please?" Harry asked, stressed, right then, can we be careful please, I think there could be a back or neck injury."
"Ok, if you want me I'll be in the canteen, it's the end of my shift." Josh said.
Three hours later. Lara opened her eyes and shut them again when she saw the bright lights around her. Where was she? She opened them again, this time squinting. She looked around and realised she was in hospital. "Lara, you're in Holby City Emergency Department. You've been in a car crash." Harry said. He had been at her bedside all the time, waiting for her to regain consciousness.
"Why am I lying down, can I sit up? Tell me Harry, what's wrong with me?" Lara asked.
"Lara, it's terrible-"Harry tried to say.
"TELL ME HARRY" Lara shouted, interrupting.
"-Lara you've, I don't know how to tell you this. You've broken your pelvis, both arms and both legs. I am so sorry."
