I do not own any of these characters.
While finishing breakfast in the dining hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hermionie Granger glanced across the large table to see her two best friends Ron and Harry. They had neglected to do their potions homework the night earlier, and now struggled to finish it by the end of the meal before their next class. While the two argued over the answer to question 3, Harry looked up. Hermionie hadn't noticed that she'd been gazing at him the entire meal although Harry did.
"Is there something caught in my teeth?" Harry asked with a worried look on his face. "You've been staring at me the entire meal." Her face turned the darkest shade of red imaginable. This had happened many times before and she couldn't help it. "No, you look great." she said. "I mean, there's nothing wrong with you." She replied hastily. It must be obvious she thought to herself. Whenever she was around Harry she stuttered over her words, how anyone could not notice that she admired him was beyond her. Hermionie had always fancied Harry although she would never admit it to anyone. It was his eyes that caught her attention the most. They were a pallid shade of blue, and Hermionie wondered why she hadn't noticed them much before. Hermionie had anticipated the thought of dating Harry many times before, although now, the thoughts accumulated more than ever. She knew that Harry dating her had almost no chance of happening, for Harry thought of Hermionie as just a friend and nothing more, no matter how deep Hermionie's feeling for him were. She was too afraid to mention anything to anyone, because she feared that if she and Harry did date, that eventually they would break up and would be unable to be friends again. Why can't I get him out of my head? This was driving her crazy now, the week was overloaded with tests, and whenever she tried to study, her mind drifted off toward something else. Most of the time, that something else was him. I've got to do something about this she thought, and she knew she was right. She excused herself from the table back to her dormitory. The walk back seemed to take forever. Hermionie had stopped many times as she tried to plan out how she would explain everything to Ginny. As she reached the portrait she murmured the password and stepped through the opening. She tranquilly walked over to the stair case and made her way up.
