Disclaimer- I don't own Angel (drat). I don't own Spike (Bummer). I don't
own anything you may recognise, BUT THE STORIES ALL MINE! Hehe. Enjoy and I
beg you to review!!!
This is set when Connor was a Baby but before all the bad stuff happened, if you were wondering.
CHRISTMAS- Now
It was Christmas Eve and everyone was in the spirit. The hotel was decorated with holly, mistletoe and dried rats livers (care of Lorne, who said it was tradition). Even Angel felt good this year, with all his friends and Connor together and safe. He just wished that.
"'Nog anyone? Oh, hey, Angel! I nearly forgot. You got a package today. Didn't have a name on it. It's in the office." Cordy yelled from the kitchen.
He recognised the flawless writing as soon as he saw it. It was from Spike, his GrandChilde. Just holding it brought memories that made him smile and hold back tears at the same time. He'd remembered. But then again, how could he forget? Spike always loved their Christmases together. It was his favourite time. They were all close then, giving gifts and having wild nights on the town. Yes, vampires giving gifts. Angelus had insisted on it. As a human child, his only fond memories were of Christmas and he'd carried that into his unhuman family.
He slowly unwrapped the parcel. Sitting on top was a postcard from France. It simply said: 'Angelus. Went on holiday to good old gay Paree! The food is good and accommodation is, well, as black as ever! Bin thinkin of ya. Visited some of the old haunts. Still haunted! Found some stuff I thought you'd like. Merry Christmas Peaches!
Spike.'
Angel tore off the horrible floral wrapping paper and pulled out a framed picture. It was of his family. He thought that photo had been lost forever. It had been taken at Christmas, 1904, in Paris under the Eiffel Tower. Dru and Darla smiled happily while he stood ever arrogant, with a slight grin, between them. And then there was William poking his head over Angel's shoulder, sticking his tongue out. It was a classic picture of the way they were back then. His old family. Angel set it on his desk near his favourite picture of his new family, taken only yesterday. In his heart he knew he would cherish both of them for the rest of his unnatural life.
