A beautiful day had erupted upon the earth. The sweet, harmonic chorus of early birds slowly faded away as dawn gave way to morning. A soft breeze was whistling through the ample branches.
The sun crept through Sota's window, bathing the young boy in its golden hues. Slowly, ever so slowly, Sota opened his eyes. He sat up, yawned, and stretched. He soon realized his surroundings and what day today was—Saturday!
Sota bolted out of his bed, raced down the stairs, and slid into the kitchen where the smells were tempting his taste buds and causing his mouth to water.
"Mmm…mom, that smells great," Sota inhaled the sweet delicious smells that were filling the kitchen.
"Well, thank-you dear but the smell is only the beginning. Wait till you try it. Breakfast will be just a few more minutes so why don't you go and set the table for me alright, Honey?" she asked, turning slightly so as to give Sota a smile.
"Alright mom!"
After breakfast with his mother and grandfather—Kagome was still in the Feudal Era—Sota helped clear the table. He then stood behind his mom, shifting from foot to foot anxiously.
"What is it, Honey?"
"Mom, can I go play on the internet? A friend from school told me about this site I have to go to."
"I guess so…just for a little bit."
"Thanks mom!" and with those words barely out of his mouth, Sota bolted down the hallway to the study where the computer was located in.
He powered on the computer and became impatient as he felt it was taking too long to load up. Finally, Windows appeared and he moved the mouse to the Earthlink icon and double-clicked it. He logged on and was about to type in the site when he realized he left the piece of paper with the link on it in his backpack.
As fast as he could, he raced upstairs, rummaged through his bag until he found the piece of paper, and raced back into the study.
Letting out a whoosh of air, he muttered, "Alright! Now, for the site!" Since he was typing on the keyboard with the two-finger method, he said each character out loud as he searched for that button on the button on the keyboard. "Okay, it's W-W-W—where's the peri…ah! There it is! —Dot-H-O-M-E-S-T-A-R-R-U-N-N-E-R-dot—remembered this time! —C-O-M-Enter," he proudly announced to no one in particular. He was happy about the fact that he did not make a single mistake while typing in the web link.
He anxiously waited as the website loaded.
