The quiet laughter of the fire lit up Gryffindor's common room, not only with its burning elegance, but also with the sound of music. Star light and moon light, gazing through the open window, giving the illusion they were dancing among the stars.
The student and his teacher waltzed in the spotlight, one not so graceful as the other. Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, a couple of sorts upon the dance floor.
Step one, step two, Black's went to turn and immediately his foot stepped onto Lupin's. Black began to apologize, when he realized no words would come out of his mouth. His vacant eyes gazed up into the butterbeer hued oculars that of Lupin, wondering who or what seized his voice from him.
" .... "
Black's eyelids slowly covered his eyes, shutting out all life and substance. When they arose, the scenery had changed as well as the costume's the two of them wore. Somehow Lupin ended up in an elegant gown that put Cinderella's to shame, and of course Black was suited up to take on the role of the prince.
Hell, this has to be a dream. I thought turning into a werewolf was crazy, but turning into a princess? This is just insane, even for me.
Professor Flitwick's teachings seemed to be paid off, as the partners miraculously floated off the floor, drifting in mid air as if, obviously, by magic. He could see Lupin's lips moving as he mouthed the words " twist and flick. "
Even with no floor to dance on, and a small margin of error, he always seemed to screw up somehow. Black could feel the moisture on his skin began to make an appearance. Beads of sweat rolled down the side of his face, slipping into the creases of his lips. A bad habit the boy had and an obvious one at that.
Lupin noticed this as well. And to Black's surprise, the distance between the two became incredibly smaller, and soon he could feel the light breathing of Lupin on his own face. His eyes closed... he was almost there... lips met... the climax of this story.
That was, until, he woke up.
" Damnit... it really was a dream. Moony... "
