Chapter 1

the eldest baudelaire felt her hands slipping on the leather straps.as well as quigley's hands. "violet!"cried klaus. But it was to late to try and save her. Violet and Quigley were already drifting away on a wooden board. Before they flashed out of site, Klaus shouted "Quigley, you better take care of my sister!" "Don't worry,I will!" he shouted back as they dissapeared behind the wall of rock. Violet clung on to Quigley's sholders for dear life. She was worried of the fact she was separated brother. However, it slightly annoyed her that her brother thought that Quigley, let alone herself, could take care of her. Infact, appart from the fact they were drifting down rapids and she was separated from her sylblings, she was sort of glad that it was just her Quigley. They barely had any privacy except for when they where climbing the water fall the first time and they had a 'romantic encounter'- a phrase here which means physical contact between envolving a part of the face and an extreme passion along with it. She realized that and the thought of it made her red all over. Did Quigley concider her more than just a friend? She sighed heavly, this was not a very appropiate time for love problems. She decided it was time to make conversation. "Quigley?" asked Violet. "Hmm?" he mumbled. "Well, when this is all over and we're of age to receive our fortunes, what do you plan to do?" she asked shyly, hopping to hear an answer which evolved her. "Well," replied Quigley, "im probably going to live in a mansion with my siblings, and hopefully become an excellent map maker. I want the mansion so that all of us live together, meaning you, me, Klaus, Sunny, Duncan, and Isadora." But of course this wasn't true, Quigley really wanted to wed Violet instead. He didn't care what he did or how much money he made, he only wanted her by his side. "What about you?" he asked hopefully. "What? Oh, um ditto." Sounding sligthly dissapointed. "Look! There's an area up ahead where we can rest. Maybe we can kick over there." Said Quigley. "It's worth a try, let's go!"
