It's the perfect ring. Sempai's never seen it. A single sunburst-cut peridot, framed by two silver leaves, is set in a slim silver band. It fits like it was made for me, but I never wear it.
I have no idea where he got the money for it; it must have cost a fortune. Then again, there are a lot of things I still don't know about him-things I may never know.
The night he proposed was, and will remain, the happiest night of my life.

Maybe then I'll finally get to wear that ring.
