Disclaimer: Come on, if anyone really believes any thing or person from "X" or "Tokyo Babylon" belonged to me, it'd be the first thing I knew. Alas, *sighs sadly* it was not meant to be. They still belong to CLAMP and their associates. *mutters* Damn!!
Game Over
by Hotaru Muraki
Beneath that sakura tree
The bet has been won.
And yet. . . Why do I query
What I have done ?
Cherry–tree, cherry–tree
Blooming in the park –
What. . . What will you see ?
One. . . Yes, one is here
Who should not be
To save the one most dear.
. . . Tear him away from me ?
Cherry–tree, cherry–tree
Standing in the dark –
What. . . ! What do you see ?
He is mine, always was,
And forevermore will be.
– Why do you fight a cause
Already lost to the tree ?
Cherry–tree, cherry–tree
Leaving bright your mark –
What. . . ? What did you see ?
Softly blooming trees
Dripping sorrow in the rain;
A life was washed away.
There. And gone again. . .
Note 1: For the stanzas in italics please imagine something like those count-through nursery rhymes we have all sung as children. Imagine little children doing those lines in a sing-song sort of voice while playing some game.
Note 2: Picture them off to some side, oblivious to what's going on, intent on playing their game. (They are, naturally, outside the Sakurazukamori's maboroshi. Only their song echoes somewhat ghostly inside.)
