Ella Mahaven was new to the 55. Her dream in life was to be a doctor, but after 2 years as a paramedic in Chicago, things changed. As she closed her car door she slowly made her way to the station. The first to greet her was Doc.

"You must be Ella...Welcome to the 55"
"Thanks"
"So how many years have you been a paramedic?" asked Doc
"Just over two years over in Chicago." Ella said
"I almost became a paramedic in Chicago, but things didn't work out and I stayed here" Doc said
"Oh"
"Anyways I'll show you around before your shift starts" Doc said.

Doc led Ella up the stairs into the station. The got to the top of the stairs and the guys were watching a game.

"That over there is Jimmy Doherty. To his left is D.K. and to his right is Walsh." Doc led Ella into the room they were in "Everyone this is Ella Mahaven, a new paramedic from Chicago" All the guys got up and shook her hand and said hi. Doc then introduced her to Kim and Carlos who were preparing a meal. "They're also paramedics" Doc said.

"So you say your from Chicago?" Carlos asked.

"Yeah" Ella said.

"Doc who is she riding with?" Carlos asked.

"She's riding with me" Doc said "Damn!" Carlos said with an upset look on his face. "Ignore Carlos, he has major issues with women" Doc said

"I do not!!" Carlos shouted as they walked off.

Doc showed Ella the rest of the tour upstairs until a message came over the loud speaker sending them to a house fire. Ella jumped on the bus with Doc and they drove off. When they arrived to the scene a they saw the family standing outside watching there house turn into ash. Doc and Ella grabbed there bags and made there way to family as the firefighters tried to put out the fire.

Ella walked up to a little boy "Hi my name is Ella...I'm going to check you out and make sure that you're okay"

"But I wanna go with my mom" the boy said.

"It will be okay. Just let me make sure you're okay and I'll take you to your mom." Ella said

"Okay"

As the day ended, Ella about passed out from pure exhaustion. Sure, she had been on the same amount of calls in Chicago, but never that close together.

"So how was your first day" a voice said that woke up Ella.
"Pretty good...just tired out." Ella said "Always this busy?"
"Pretty much" Jimmy said. "All of us are going out for drinks tonight, wanna come?"
"Sure" Ella said "Just let me grab my things" and right after saying that Ella grabbed her bag and followed Jimmy outside.

A full night of drinking with the guys, Ella was left with a nasty hang over the next day. "Why do I always overdue it?" she asked herself
"Morning" Jimmy said and Ella looked over in the bed right beside her.
"How much did I drink last night?" she asked him
"Way to much and we'll leave it at that" Jimmy laughed
"Do you always greet the new girls this way?"
"No...not usually" Jimmy said

Ella couldn't believe she had slept with Jimmy. Sure he was hot and all, but what kind of reputation would she get at the station, especially since she was new. He was also 6 years older than her. She got out of bed.
"I have to go take a shower...I have to go to work soon" Ella said
"How about I join you?" Jimmy said
"How about no" Ella said "Jimmy you're a great guy and all...I just think we're taking it a bit too..."
"Fast" Jimmy said
"Yeah, I've only know you for less than twenty-four hours and I slept with you....that sure wasn't in my plan for my first day at a new job" Ella said
"I understand...Well I'm going to get going then. I'll see you later today" Jimmy said with a little bite to his voice.
"Okay then..." and with that Ella heard the door slam shut.
