The untold stories of band…

*SIDE NOTE: lets try that again…its been a few years since my last story…again…I must gravely apologize for last story I attempted to write…really, I was not under the influence of drugs…yea…ok! Lets get it goin' on! WEEEE! Again, it's been awhile since I've actually written stuff -- bare w/ me on this…*

Stuff I Learned from Valley Marchmasters:

--Band is #1; If you want to join in another club, you will be punished severely

--You will always obey your section leader; they are right, regardless of how stupid the person is

--You must ALWAYS join in every meeting regarding band, regardless of how stupid the meeting is

--Band's #1--going to a funeral is not THAT important (or wedding, or bar mitzvah, or something else that's vastly more important than band…)

--Marching is your life--everything else is worthless

--Homework, what's that -- you can do that later!

--Looking like power rangers is very important, regardless of what other people say

--Adam Sandler is super cool! -- especially on trips to Linn-Marr Madison

--Orange is NOT a good color on the field

--Regardless of what other people say, the performance that you just did for someone was horrible

--Getting first place in a competition is still not good enough for those damn dirty apes (aka -- band leaders)

--Private teachers that are college students will more or less be either hard asses (and be really good)

--Marching band IS a sport

--Social life…what's that?!

--90.3 = A, NOT A FRICKIN B!

--Tuba players get it on w/ flutists…(um…this actually happened to someone in my band)

--Clarinetists are NOT weenies, they just need to project their sound more (stupid tee design…grrr…)

--Band leaders = nazis = conspiracy w/ gov't (wait…that's not right…hmm)

--Giving negative input to students on how well they march is a VERY good idea (actually…it sucks…it makes the band students pissed off at band leaders…I know…this happened)

--Have I mentioned that band is #1?

--McD's is your best friend -- especially during band trips

--30 degrees F is not good for wood clarinets (or for anyone for that manner)

--Rain = bad (but you still march); Snow = bad (possibility of marching); Hail of Fire and Locust = very bad

--Band people make good last minute dates ;)

CONCLUSION: yea…quit band after senior year…since then, Valley has won more trophies (weee…no surprise…) -- band will be performing at Rose Bowl this year…not hard to find a band the size of a small Midwest town…try to find the band w/orange and black (and who really do look like power rangers…yea…)
