Grissom, Catherine and Catherine's daughter, Lindsey, sat around a small, round table in a tiny, crowded restaurant discussing the "Rat" murders. "I can't believe this!" Catherine sighed, leaning heavily against the back of the chair. Lindsey doodled on her place mat and hummed, totally ignorant of the touchy topic the two CSIs where talking about. Catherine watched her daughter doodle a moment then continued her complaining. "How could they shut us down like that? It wasn't our fault!" Grissom shook his head. "I shouldn't have left night shift go." He said softly. "Who cares about night shift!" Catherine nearly shrieked, slamming a clenched fist down on the table. "It would have happened anyway, Griss! Even if you would have had them stay I'm sure those freak would have come another day! It's been 30 years Grissom. They can wait!" Grissom hated to admit Catherine was right. At that moment Grissom's cell phone rang. "Hello, Grissom." There was a moment of silence then Grissom sighed, said "Sure, I'll be there in a sec." And hung up. "Who was that?" Catherine asked. "Greg. He says they broke into his apartment." Catherine frowned and stood simultaneously with Grissom. "Come on Lindsey." Catherine said sternly, trying to keep the excitement out of her voice. "But mommy!" Lindsey exclaimed. "We didn't get our food yet!" Grissom waved down a waiter and told him to hold table 8's order. The guy nodded and rushed off to tell the cook. "Come on." Grissom said, grabbing his coat. Greg sat slouched in the very uncomfortable cell, twiddling his thumbs. His eyes gazed, unseeing at the floor. He was deep in thought. "Mr. Sanders we have some one here to see you." Greg looked up and smiled blankly as Grissom, Catherine and Lindsey walked in. "Hey." he began but Grissom cut him off. "Did you get a look at him?" Greg blinked. "No. It was dark. I didn't get a look at them but I do know they where driving a green car. They had a gun too. Probably shell casings and bullets all over the place over there." Grissom nodded. "So why are you in here?" Catherine asked. Greg laughed, "They chased me down the fire escape so I broke into a local mall. er, Wall Mart. to get the police's attention. They won't listen to my story." Catherine flung back her head and laughed until she was doubled over form a side stitch. "I don't see what's so funny." Greg growled. Catherine sucked in a deep, shaky breath and silenced herself. Grissom gave her a disapproving glance.
