Nine hundered days.

Would one kiss be but so sweet
i would bleed nine hundred days
Nine hundered days for just one taste
To hear you say as you said once
As you said once i love you
But no no, from me you run
From me you flee
Into HIS arms, to HIS love
And i stand here in my torn black coat
Holding roses for you
Roses that pierce me so
Nine hundred days i bled for you
Nine hundred nights i wept
And twenty-thousand hours
You were on my fevered mind.
Would but I let you go,
Admit bitter defeat and be satisfied
My soul would soon heal over
I would quietly lick my wounds
And say that HE has your love
And you are gone.
I cannot.
I cannot let go for I cannot forget
A vow upon the silver dreaming moon
And soft lake water surrounded by pines
Where on that night, as a wounded child
To you, as an innocent
I swore my heart.
So hard have i fought these nine hundered days
Much have I bled, as all has seemed lost
Much have I wept, as you grow colder
And still, my vow stands.
My heart in your hands, to break or cherish as you see fit.
