When Pain Pushes You
There was a small girl in a village, just outside of a large town in Northern Ireland. She was originally from America, and her accent, clothes and attitude were different from those around her. All of the other children had found her odd, and in turn, didn't like her. They thought she was strange, no family, no friend's , no pets, a very WEIRD girl. She was insulted at school, but she had a family, yet they worked all day and she rarely saw them.
She wasn't a normal kid she couldn't think as fast as
others. Some of her classmate's would spread rumors
about her, and if she approached them about it, they would
cover it up with a lie to her. when she met a new
friend they were usually just pretending. It was like a big joke.
The kids on the playground would threaten her, and would sometimes even beat her up. The teacher's ignored her, often distracted by the shows that other girls would put on when she got any attention. So she got tired and ran, you can only push a little girl so far. One day at recess time she ran from the bullies, her family, and her school.
The school was near a forest, where she liked to play while her parents worked. When she was there she found two tree's bent into an odd X shape. She would sit beneath these trees to think. This time, though, she was never going back. She'd sit beneath these trees forever.
She stayed beneath her trees for hours, and darkness began to set in. She wondered if anyone was even looking for her. Looking around, into the quickly darkening forest, a realization occurred to her. She had never stayed overnight anywhere, especially in the middle of a forest. The night continued to approach, ever quickly and she was beginning to panic. In her irrational fear, she could have sworn she heard a wolf howl, and her breath quickened. Stumbling to her feet, she broke into a run. The trees went from comforting to terrifying as the shadows seemed to claw at her. Her foot caught on something, most likely an errant vine, and it sent her tumbling down a ravine. Raising to her feet, she brushed herself off with cut, trembling hands, tears in her eyes.
That's when she saw it. It was dark, and should have been scary. Yet…Somehow…The cave before her seemed almost homey. She entered the cave, slowly, cautiously. The cave was surprisingly warm, as if it were heated. Entering, she studied the walls. Were they glowing? Looking down into the darkness of the cave. There was a light……
