LXG 2
Disclaimer: I don't own LXG, this storyline is mine though.
Mina laid upon her large queen-sized bed, staring up at the ceiling. The room was run down and very humid, compared to the rooms she was used to in Europe. The league and herself were still in Africa. Allan's death was such a tragic event. She reflected on what Skinner had said to her as they all made their way to the hotel they were to stay at for the night, before leaving for London.
"Why ya so down love? Someone like you is surrounded by death," Skinner said, looking up at the sky with a worried frown as his make up started to melt. Mina looked at him; she was absolutely speechless at his comment.
'The nerve of him,' Mina thought to herself, closing her eyes tightly. But it wasn't just Allan's death that lingered in her mind. A special someone did also. Slowly, Mina opened her eyes. "Dorian," she whispered to herself. Suddenly a knock at the door made Mina jump to a sitting position on the bed. "Come in!" Mina said waiting to see whom it was. The door opened in a swift action and Tom walked in.
"Miss? We fortunately are leaving early than expected," he said, looking around for Mina's suitcase. His comment confused her. "Pardon Mr. Sawyer? Why is it so fortunate to leave?" she asked, standing up. Tom couldn't help but smirk. "You see, we are needed in Australia. Another mission as it is miss," Tom said, picking up and cracked leather suitcase from beside the bedside table.
With a deep sigh, Mina walked over to pack up her test tubes and beakers. "Great, and I was hoping to get a well needed tan," Mina sarcastically commented. Tom let a small laugh. "Miss? You best not let Skinner hear you cracking jokes, takes the joy out of his life," Tom said, but however, Mina took it in a harsh way, frowning and ignoring him as she walked out of the room with two bags in each hand. "Fine, I shall keep to myself for now then Mr. Sawyer," she swiftly said, noticing the carriage outside the hotel through a large clear window.
