This poem (or fragments of it) will likely appear in the Pirates of the Caribbean story which is currently beating me about the head, demanding to be written.
Sky and Sea
Little birdling of the sea
Won't you fly away with me?
I love you much, as you love me
Let us leave this fickle sea
sky and sea
Your eyes, they do not see mine
Your hands grow still upon the loom
Do you hear the songbirds' cry?
Or do you hear the ocean's boom?
sea and sand
When your eyes drift far away
And a gentle curve lifts your lips
You hear not the words I say
Dreaming of your wooden ships
sand and sea
Your eyes have turned to watch the sky
The wind brings echoes of the sea
I watch you standing in the rye
Listening to the horizon sing
sea and sky
Little birdling of the sea
You have flown away with me
I know that greatly, you love me
But I know that still, you love the sea
sky and sea
And so I set you free
