I searched for him, finally opening my eyes. I sat up and looked toward the door as a very tall, very handsome John ran into the room.

"Jada, are you okay?" he repeated in a worried tone. He sat down on the edge of my bed and put his arms around me. "What's wrong? I heard you scream."

"Yeah, I heard you too." I looked up at the voice. Bobby, Robex, and a few other students had followed John in.

"I'm fine. It was just a dream." Laying my head on John's shoulder I whispered in his ear, "It was about the day dad died."

John pulled back surprised, "Oh, we need to talk about this later," he muttered so that only I could hear him. "All right," he said out loud, "I don't think you should be taking any more naps during the day." Every body started laughing, me included.

John stood up "Come on, we're about to start the Ring." He looked at me anxiously. "I know you love that movie. Are you up for watching it?"

"Of course. I'll be in there in a minute." As they all left I laid back down running my finger through my thick hair. After about 20 minutes I stood up and looked in the full body mirror hanging in my wardrobe. A tall brunette with dazzling blue eyes stared back at me. Because of sleeping my hair was a little tousled.

I pulled the black hair-tie off my wrist and wrapped it around my hair pulling it back into a bun. Putting my contacts back in I headed out of my bedroom, down the stairs and into the game room.

The pool, air hockey, and foozball tables stood empty. apparently everybody had decided that they would watch the Ring too. This was confirmed when I saw the students lined up on the couches in front of the TV.

I walked directly behind one of the couches and scanned the room. I counted 20 teenagers, some with their arms around each other, some very tense. I looked down at the couple sitting directly in front of me. I actually hadn't known they were a couple until today. I mean, they did make it kind of obvious by making out.

The guy was none other than my best friend and younger brother John. Gotta love him. He had his fingers wrapped through the girl's long blonde (?) hair. Smiling, I barely grabbed onto the end of that beautiful hair. Flames shot through my fingers and Jessica's hair caught fire.

Time out, let me explain something. I'm a mutant. Now please don't be scared. I'm a good mutant. I live at Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and I am one of the X-Men. anyway, on with my story.

As she felt the heat, Jessica's arm reached up instinctively and she put out the flame. I'd played the trick before. She stood up, her arm outstretched over my head. "What do you want Jada?"

"Excuse me? What did you just say?"

"Sorry, let me rephrase that. What can I help you with Professor Allardyce?" she said in a sarcastic tone.

"Come speak with me, Miss," and I pointed to the corner of the room.

Jessica walked over to the corner and I put my hand on her shoulder. "You know Dasani, You need to show some respect for your elders." Jessica, her code name Dasani, started to speak but I put my finger to my lips and continued to lecture her. "First of all, why are you making out with my brother?"

"Because I wanted to. Oh, and you're not my elder. you're only three years older than me. That counts for nothing," Dasani stated.

"Okay, so I'm not much of your elder ut I'm still your teacher. So please," I paused trying to hold ack the laughter. It didn't work. I covered my mouth as I started laughing. Seeing my Dasani laughed too. I pointed to the stairs and Dasani nodded. We both walked up to my room. As we closed the door we both started laughing even louder.

I sat down on my bed and Dasani sat on the other one. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it," I said a smile on my face now. "at least I lasted longer than usual."

Dasani smiled back. "That's true." Jessica is one of my closest friends and we always have arguments like this to see who laughs first. "But you do realize you just lost, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, I know." I looked down at my bed for a second. A scream drifted up from down below. I chuckled, "Seems like Rogue just wants to get closer to my Drake."

"What do you mean? Your who?" Dasani's face was twisted in confusion.

"My Drake…my Bobby Drake." I could see comprehension dawn on Jessica's face. "And what I meant was that she's probably not even scared. I bet she's just screaming to get him to hold her even closer."

"Probably." There was silence for a moment. It was unbearable. I looked up at Dasani and saw water heading straight for my face. Now it was my turn to scream. The water hit me straight in the face. As I blinked water out of eyes, I threw a handful of fire back at Jessica. We both started giggling and throwing water and fire back and forth at each other until John came into the room.

"Whoa!" he exclaimed as water barely missed his face. "Girls, settle down. Dasani, can you leave me and Jada alone for a second? I need to talk to my sister." He smiled as Jessica stood.

"No problem," she whispered as she walked out the door. "See you guys at dinner."
