Heaven in Your Arms

Author's Note: So, this is the first poem I've ever written, be nice with me, please. I was just writing the second chapter to Sabotage Backfire, when I went all angsty, and I had to vent out my frustrations somewhere else... AND, this is the outcome... Pretty dark, you'll see... But, I kind of like it. Please, review, I plead! Mwahahahaaa!!!

There's no such thing as heaven

Just simple words of hope and peace

There's no such thing as love

Just words too empty to please

But then, there's you

A complex set of words

Too heavy, too frightening

For simple minds like mine

To ever understand

It's in your arms where secrets unfold

It's on your lips, where truths remain untold

Inside your eyes, no secrets, all truth

A truth that tells me the fate of my lies

I die and then I cry

Two worlds too far apart

Two voices, deep and hollow

Two faces, scarred and shadowed

Crimson on your pale skin

Rivulets over your golden hair

The emptiness awakening despair

A life that no longer will be

So, it was you,

Angel of dark, angel of night

Mistress of mine,

Temptress of dreams

And swallow in my pain, I will

And swallow in my pride, I will

You were my sliver of hope

My last thread of silver and gold

No longer a ray, or a spear

No longer up, or down, here, or there

In the wake, or the dead

For I have no longer in me, a last shred of fear

It was you in my dreams...

It was you I feared...

I close my eyes, and breathe...

And together, at last...

We shall forever be.

I think I'll give it a shot to writing one a little more on the cheery side. That sentence was confusing.... Is it just me, or is this poem a little too corny??
