Title: Hogwarts Halloween
Summary: A light-hearted poem about the crazy stuff that usually occurs on Halloween at Hogwarts.
Rating: G
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: none
Category: poetry, humor
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: I own nothing except the poem itself. Harry Potter belongs to Scholastic, Warner Bros., and the lovely and talented J.K. Rowling.
Author's Notes: I wrote this for the Halloween feast of one of my favorite groups. Therefore, this poem is dedicated to my fellow Loonies (groups.yahoo.com/group/hplunatics). It's from the perspective of a random student in Harry's year, someone we don't know too much about - heck, maybe even a Ravenclaw. (Last for the Cup! Last for the Cup! *g*) This was also an experimentation with rhyme scheme and rhythm, which I never worry about normally. I think it came out appropriately childlike... we ARE a G-rated group, you know! Feedback is always appreciated!

Hogwarts Halloween

Halloween at Hogwarts
Oh joy, another year!
I wonder what catastrophe
They've got for us this year

There's always a disaster
A horrid, scheming plot
I blame Harry Potter
Whoops, was that an evil thought?

First year we had the troll
Who was let in just because
And poor Hermione Granger
Almost became a "was"

Second year our friend Mrs. Norris
Became the Heir of Slytherin's prey
I can't say we were sorry
Without that cat interrupting our play

Third year that madman Sirius Black
Broke in, in a murderous rage
He terrorized Gryffindor Tower
It really is an outrage!

Fourth year was the Tournament
And the champions were chosen
When the Goblet spit out Potter's name
It was only following tradition

Fifth year nothing happened
I almost wish it had
I think all the normality
Was driving everyone mad!

So it's another year at Hogwarts
Another Halloween night
I hope tonight's exciting
We always do it right!
